Review Bloody French - Subiaco

We are disappointed with the quality of the food. We had the "Snails a la Bourguignone" entree, it didn't look appetising, tasted alright. The Confit Duck Leg was a bit dry. We only found the dessert "chocolate mousse" was good. Overall, the food was very average, friendly services.

We went there on Thursday for my birthday. The place was empty when we arrived, but we were soon greeted by Bouba, the owner, the chef and our entertainer for the night. We got the Chicken Liver Parfait for entrée, it was super smooth and silky. Perfectly balanced. Just the right amount of pepper. It took me back to my childhood. Our daughter devoured the entrée not knowing what it was. For mains we got Fondue and the Duck for our son. He doesn't fancy beans so I ended up eating one of the best Cassoulet I had the chance to put my hands on in Perth. For dessert we had the apple crumble. This was a pleasant way to end the night. Also chapeau a notre chef. He was waiting 5 tables by the time we ended our dinner. Cooking at the back and serving delicious raclette to other patrons. He was always smiling and never seemed to be under any type of stress managing the kitchen and the FOH service. Merci beaucoup, cela m'a fait extremement plaisir d'avoir passé mon anniversaire dans votre etablissement.

Absolutely stunning food, expertly prepared. Could not fault it in any way. However… Restaurant fit out “quaint” at best, needs serious maintenance, dirty and disorganized. Beautiful double-sided fireplace not lit in the middle of winter. Obviously having staffing issues probably due to Covid. No one arrived to greet us for many minutes and we had to wander past the kitchen to be seen. Only one staff member seen all night despite a packed restaurant and he was wearing chefs uniform, to take orders, make drinks, deliver food, clean tables and work the till. Nevertheless he maintained pleasant disposition all night! Amazing job by him. Still absolutely worth it and will go again.

I gave it 5 stars but took one off as a challenge. Great value for Money. Will try again. I love the food. Great service. Super safe bet if you want to relax with family and enjoy time with friends. I want to see if they can push the boundaries by trying less safe meals/menu or exotic ingredients. But I would give it 5 stars.

food is no surprise.so normal. Too much cream in cauliflower sauce. Duck leg over cooked can tasted burned. Desert just okay. Entree is fine. But trust me.this place is nothing about French cuisine. It’s more like Australia western cuisine NO AC Don’t come here during summer. so hot. A good environment is the foundation of the restaurant. Waste my time during Valentine’s Day. Totally destroyed my night Not recommend Spend 170 for two person which is 3 dish menu. I think the cost price is around 60?

Great service and delicious food! The interior is a tad run down from water damage but the yummy escargots and very friendly service made up for it ☺️ Definitely recommend for a more casual dinner if you want some hearty, filling french food.

Arrived to a set menu at a set price, not as detailed on the website. The place looked sad and dirty. Even the plants in the terracotta planters were half dead or non existent. Food was below average and very small portions. $65.00 for three mediocre dishes, we would have preferred less dishes and more food. One very sad duck leg on a plate with no vegetables, which wasn't what I ordered - it took the waitress 30 minutes to tell me that the dish I had ordered had celery in it (which I cannot eat) and basically that was all the chef had ready to accompany the meal of my partner! Crème Broulee was curdled - worst I've ever eaten. Felt that there was a distinct couldn't care less attitude. Very disappointing and wouldn't return. Also didn't bother to check if we were vaccinated.

Me and my Family came to have the cheese fondue. We entered the restaurant and it was empty on a Saturday night, now we know why. As we tried it the cheese fondue, the cheese would fall off the bread and the cheese was only at the bottom, the wrest was just liquid (like water). The bread was hard and will not be coming back. All together it cost $220 just for the fondue. My Australian mother does a better job on making fondue. As I’m finishing writing this review I feel sick and wish I had sent it back straight away.
