Family night out took the whole family to Vu gia for the first time and ordered the pipi xo and the hotpot set with fish and it was really nice and full of flavour that broth was like tomyum but added abit heat to make it more spicy. Everyone had a good time and the owner was really friendly and welcoming
There is a lot of competition in Sunshine, and this place stacks up well. The rice paper rolls are fresh and the pho broth has plenty of flavour. Not a bad place for lunch.
My wife and I have lived in Sunshine for 5 years and were regulars at many restaurants including Phu Vinh, Co Do, Pho Hien, Mambos and Afghan Master Kebabs. After discovering Vu Gia recently, we have become regular customers. The peaceful atmosphere is a welcome change compared to some other busy restaurants which sometimes meant dirty/ sticky floors, tables and cutlery.
For the last couple months, we’ve visited Vu Gia weekly for the Mongolian beef in claypot; it comes out hot!!! It’s delicious and nothing is ever left behind by the Mrs who is a fussy eater. The Pho isn’t good so go elsewhere but the Hu Tieu Xao and Mi Xao were good.
Its a shame Vu Gia only has an average rating, like many others out there, because it is not always a true reflection of the place. Likewise, a higher rating restaurant doesnt necessarily mean it’s always great.
Point is, try and see for yourself and you might be pleasantly surprised like we have.
