have been dining here for many years.we have always came away having a very enjoyable evening.the food is well presented and plentyiful the prices are reasonable & the staff try very hard to please you.you are greeted when you arrive by viola which starts your night off the right way.it is also children friendly.try it out.... bernie
Lovely warm atmosphere, great menu and a good selection of drinks. The ciders were particularly nice and very refreshing. My partner had the grilled mixed seafood, which was huge! I'm a vegetarian so I had the creamy garlic mushrooms and the greek salad. The mushrooms were delicious and rich, I would definitely get something to mop up the sauce with because i couldn't get enough. Great place for a date or family dinner, highly recommend!
The new reno's are great and still the best staff and service.
Great food, prices and staff and clean. I eat here quite often and have tried 99% of the menu and love it all, great for all the family or just the romantics and also great for functions and groups and I had my mother's surprise 80th and 81st birthday here and it was brilliant, the prices are for everyone to afford.

Delicious food - I will definitely return!. Great place to eat with really good service and tasty food.
I ate here with my wife last week (for the third time) and must say that we were yet again very impressed when the food was served. I had the scallop mornay for entree, the grilled lamb cutlets with vegetables as my main, and for dessert - the drunken affogato with a shot of frangelico.
The service was great and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
This bistro shows an appreciation for good food and fresh ingredients - Definitely recommended to small groups or for a quiet cosy place to eat.
Great food. Very nice chilled atmosphere. Creamy garlic prawns incredibly delicious - my fav. I also had the lobster, which was cooked perfectly, not too soft not too hard, very generous amount of mornay sauce - Loved it!
Im not much of a cake person so i had the deep fried ice cream- and again very satisfied (loved the coconuty background flavour of the vanilla ice cream)
Service was great, we had a few drinks - staff were always at hand - ready to bring another bottle :)

Went here with a big group & ordered off the set menu for $35 a head. Service was quick and restaurant was nice
Entree was panko prawns, which were average. There were three prawns and they tasted quite bland.
For main I had surf and turf which was delicious. Good size porterhouse steak, creamy garlic sauce and plenty of prawns - at least 8. Came with some veggies and potatoes, which were fine.
I had the apple crumble for dessert which wasn't great. I could taste more coconut than apple (coconut in an apple crumble?) & my apple was cold.
Would go back again for the surf and turf, and maybe try the lobster
Great food, good prices, friendly staff. Had a wonderful valentine's dinner, steak and calamari are great. Surf and Turf is pretty good too.
We had dinner at The Shire Bistro tonight for the first time (since it opened under new management) with a group of 14 people including kids. I must say I was surprised at how spacious the restaurant was with new interiors. The quality of the food was brilliant, everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The buffalo wings and the tapas were to die for!! The place itself is very nice & clean with friendly staff. Would definitely come back again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Clean and quiet place that's probably suited to the older crowd. Ken and Jackie are the owners here and run the establishment with an informal and welcoming charm. Food is standard bistro fare with a sideline in Asian dishes which are very nice. I had the Burmese curry which was very tasty-generous serving and not too spicy. Perfect place to bring Mum for Mother's day,etc.
Why didn't I give it 5? Because I don't give anyone a perfect score unless they fall over me with service, however, they came pretty close tonight!
Food presentation was outstanding, looked awesome. The taste was delicious, better than expected. I ordered rib eye steak with mushroom sauce. The bowl of mushrooms were fantastic, large peices with a scrumptious sauce. Chips were great too
Sadly, they are closing. Their lease is not being renewed because some developer want to build units there instead. This is a sign of an out of whack economy, units that produce no income, doesn't employ anyone, depreciates away can take the place of a business that has produced goods and services for years
You have this week only to enjoy this place before it's gone for good. What a shame, I will miss it a lot
Great food, great value, very friendly staff! Spent a relaxing Saturday lunch here and blown away with what you get for what you pay..... wallet-friendly, but food guaranteed to hit the spot and satisfy your taste buds.....
Visited Shire Bistro for dinner, ordered the Lobster Mornay. While the salad lacked imagination the Lobster was delightful. Tasty and plenty of meat.
The Bistro staff are friendly and attentive.
The prices are competitive and parking easy.
Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner
