We had the most amazing food on Tuesday night. The service was excellent, the food came out quickly but well spaced between plates.
Friendly staff went out of their way to explain the menu and were always checking to see if everything was ok.
Alice from Genova, Italy was gorgeous. Very helpful, friendly and knew the menu so well.

Loved everything this place had to offer, came very close to a 5 star for me. The staff were super helpful. The food came out pretty fast despite there being not a single empty table and the flavors were amazing. A must for anyone after a gastronomical experience
The overall experience was lovely - relaxing interior and friendly staff. The highlight was definitely the miso eggplant sticks and definitely save some stomach space for the black sesame mochi!
Place has good ambience. The food is nice there and amazing cocktails too, my fave would be raspberry slushy with whiskey. My fave food would be beef tataki and stuffed squid.
Highly recommend getting the wagyu, kombu butter prawns and crab fried rice (combining the Kombu butter sauce with the crab fried rice was to die for). The staff were also very accommodating and even gave us complimentary green tea ice cream to celebrate my significant other’s birthday.

I had high expectations for Cho Cho San but unfortunately I found that the dishes ranged from “amazing!” to “this is nice but I can get this elsewhere for heaps cheaper”
The kingfish sashimi and the miso eggplant were amazing, I would recommend them.
Unfortunately, I could only like the scallop and the trout (had wasabi flavour) as much as a person who doesn’t like scallop sashimi and wasabi could enjoy it.
The okonomiyaki was nice but I preferred your traditional okonomiyaki. The stuffed calamari was also quite nice.
Dessert was the let down. The green tea soft serve was yummy but you could get the same thing anywhere (this was also severely lacking in presentation). The black sesame ice cream mochi was also very enjoyable however it was expensive for what you get and once again, you can find similar in the frozen section of the asian supermarket.
Service was very nice and prompt.
What a cute place to come to for fine dining and degustation. We ordered a bunch of different small dishes to try including bao, fried chicken and butter prawns. All delicious and yummy.

Finally got to try Cho cho san! The dining area was spacious and dim litted, I loved the ambience! Perfect for a dinner date or group dining as there were smaller side dining tables as well as a high table which could be converted to a group dining table or could seat multiple couples.
We ordered the Cho cho san feast to ensure we got to try a bit of everything!
The highlight from the feast menu was the ocean trout and kingfish! So refreshing! And the dressing was spectacular. Every other dish was very enjoyable and flavoursome, the most disappointing dish was the mushroom fried rice - the brown rice was quite hard a d tough making it quite dry and not enjoyable, and the charcoal chicken - which was also quite dry and was not a fan of marinade/flavours.
Sticky was pudding was so buttery and moist! And the black sesame mochi was to die for! So good that we ordered seconds.
The overall night was very enjoyable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cho Cho San serves modern Asian fusion. Most of the dishes felt familiar but with an inventive twist, they became something new again. Favourites would have to be the sashimi and the wagyu. The seafood is really fresh and better value for money than at similar restaurants. For dessert, try the mochi sandwich. The only downside is the noise and crowd on a busy Saturday night. Dinner can feel a bit rushed.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. Tasty food - good fusion of Japanese and western tastes. Liked the grilled prawns a lot as well as the rice! Very cool decor and ambiance, staff was neutral not too friendly but not rude as well. Overall a quite decent and pleasant place, would wanna come back sometime again!
Top notch dining experience! We ordered the Christmas set menu. The food was really delicious and perfect portion. Absolutely loved the soft shell crab, king fish ponzu and hibachi duck breast. Very friendly and accommodating service from the staff. Really enjoyed our dinner. Highly recommended.
Have heard of this place for quite sometime, popular Japanese fusion cuisine, had some not very impressive experience with the sorts of Asian fusion food, was quite sceptical about the high reviews of this place, but turned out quite an unexpectedly fine experience!
was also actually a bit shocked at the packed restaurant when we walked in around 6pm on a Monday night, maybe the so-called post-pandemic crowd-phobia …
Anyway, highly recommended to try it out, even myself as a big fan of authentic Japanese cuisine still enjoyed a lot, fresh and very flavoursome, the customer service is also a plus!
Ambiance was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻, comfortable but romantic enough.
The food is more of a western interpretation of Japanese food. The teriyaki fish collars surprised us with its flavour and turned out to be our favourite for the night.
Had a wonderful dinner here. We were wished a happy anniversary on arrival which was a lovely touch. Sat up at the long bench table but the addition of pot plants made it feel intimate and private. The food was amazing and the staff took the time to ask any questions we had. The sashimi was a highlight and the cocktail list was fantastic. Potts Point dining at its finest.
Amazing set menu! Everything was so good and worth the money. Service is top-notch, Jackie took care of our table so well we feel very welcomed. Cozy vibes, high quality food.
Delicious food and great service! Our cocktails were also very yummy, I'd highly recommend this place for a nice night out with friends and family. Such a lovely ambiance and friendly staff. Will definitely be back soon with my husband!
