Absolutely blown away by this restaurant! I’ve dined many times in Barangaroo, and have always had a disappointing experience. But my first incredible dining experience in Barangaroo was at Manjits Wharf. Everything from the interior, the delicious food, and the impeccable service was outstanding. It was a cold day and we were sitting by the windows and our server brought us a portable heater without me having to even ask or comment on how cold it was! They absolutely go above and beyond.
We ordered the Signature Barrah Kebabs (lamb cutlets), Amritsari Machli (fried fish fillets), the Butter Chicken, the Signature Baingan Takatak (smoking eggplant curry), Indian summer cocktail, Floral Delight cocktail, the Kaala Jamun (Indian donuts) and the Rasmalai (milk dumplings). Everything was delicious, but my favourites were the lamb cutlets, the Butter Chicken, the Floral Delight cocktail and the Indian donuts.
I love good quality Indian food and this place definitely delivers! Not only does this restaurant have a beautiful setting over looking King Street wharf, each dish is so beautifully presented, reminiscent of artwork with the use of palette like plates & splashes of colour from the sauces. There are so many delicious sounding dishes & it was hard to decide but every entree I ordered were delicious mouthfuls revving up your appetite. These dishes are small compared with the heavier, more generous main dishes which were such a highlight! The lamb shoulder curry was fork tender with a deep, earthy flavour. Utterly delicious. The Butter chicken had a rich, slightly spicy sauce & the tender, chunky pieces of chicken had a beautiful orange ring around it from cooking in the tandoor oven. The naan is so light & fluffy its easy to devour it on its own & I had to order it twice as it was so good! The Indian donuts with rose ice cream for dessert is delicious and super sweet. Loved the mango lassi here which is thick, creamy & pretty and a wine list with a great selection & prices was easy to choose from. To top it off the service was so friendly & attentive. Highly enjoyable!
Indian cuisine but not as you know it. The decor is beautiful with amazing 180 degrees water view at King Street Wharf.
We spent a very enjoyable afternoon here as guests for lunch, tasting some delicious traditional dishes such as their curries (prawn malabari and butter chicken) as well as some dishes with a more modern ‘Manjit’ twist on classics, we left the decision making to the staff who were friendly and helpful.
Our favourites were their modern dishes such as their layered lamb and chicken mince kebab with spices cooked in their charcoal tandoori oven and pyaaj ka phool (onion flower coated in chickpea flour topped with colourful dips) which I highly recommend.
Their mocktails were also fantastic and great with the food on a hot day. Great experience, we would love to come again with a group of friends and try their banquet menu next time.
Being in Australia was so so so much fun, be it beaches , nightlife, countryside , amusement parks and specially INDIAN FOOD. We all long for delicious Indian food while travelling abroad @Manjits was a gem for a person like me who cant stay without roti sabzi. Having the view by darling harbor was a reat in itself. The ambiance was decent and staff was courteous and very helpful. So we ordered Cheese naan, garlic naan on special request , paneer spicey sabzi and few starters. One thing that every Indian restaurant should offer is masala papad..like this is too basic and a must have in the menu!!
This place is extremely famous for non-veg food too and have also heard its too delicious to miss out onn! Such an authentic Indian fine dining experience we had.
For a very long time, my culinary knowledge of Indian cuisine was limited to one dish – butter chicken. I simply couldn’t get enough of that buttery sauce of cream, tomatoes and spices. That was one of the reasons we decided to visit Manjits in King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour.

“The Masala Prawns Pakora Bites” a dish so tasty I had to come back again.
Prawns battered with chickpea batter served with dried chilli and curry leaves.
A great family venue in an amazing location backed up by some famous dishes including butter chicken, lamb vindallo and signature barrah kebabs.
The wine menu is extensive and the beers super cold.
A great banquet selection also for functions and group bookings.
Located in King Street Wharf, this venue offers modern and exotic Indian cuisine.
The place is stunning with elegant decor throughout. With a spacious seating area, the place can easily accomodate large groups of people.
Every dish I tried was superb. Plated beautifully and packed with wonderful flavours. I love how aromatic their dishes were.
My favourites from my recent visit:
Gol Gol Gappa (crisp pastry)
Tandoori Roasted Pappadums
Coni Papdi with Tamarind Sorbet
Pyaaj ka Phool (bloom onion)
Prawn Pakora
Kashmiri Chicken
Imli Baingan (eggplant)
The Disputed Duck Curry
Mango Pistachio Kulfi
And for the drinks I tried Paprika Spritz and Watetmelon Sharbat mocktails. Both drinks were so good and refreshing!
Highly recommend.
The food was amazing - particularly loved the chicken tikka masala! The right amount of spicy and beautiful flavours. The service was also really friendly and accommodating. The harbour views were also a plus. Would definitely recommend visiting!
Bring them stretchy pants and order up! Manjits wharf knows how to entertain both yourself and your stomach! Huge menu here and the food is packed with flavour! Blown away by the amazing lunch feast had here! Thanks guys
This is one amazing Indian restaurant. The view over Darling harbour is perfect for a beautiful evening! The ambience is real nice. We were a group of 6 people and treated really well. The staff definitely is good here! This place likes to experiment a lot , we ordered simple dishes but they all had amazing modern touch to them. The best Indian we all had had in Sydney with such amazing view. Will definitely be coming back for more.
This place and food is great ! Went for a dinner on a winter weekend...the ambience was chill, charming and very welcoming. Staffs are extremely hospitable and knowledgable that they literally come and ask you time to time "how is everything"...that was amazing...all the food and drinks from wide range of menu were luscious...Bamboo Biriyani is speciality of this restaurant and a must try...Overall this has now become one of my most favourite Indian restaurant in Sydney...! 🙂
Perfectly located
Staff is very professional and polite
Food is not extra ordinary in taste but presentation is good
A bit expensive (maybe due to the location)
Prior booking is recommended else you will have to wait.
Good to try once.
Some outstanding Indian food with excellent service and great water views over King Street Wharf.
