Small, simple, brisk, on point. Gypsy is exactly the kind of breakfast/brunch place you look for in Potts Pt when you need good food and caffeine quickly. Delicious and friendly too
Located in the heart of Potts Point this cafe is a little oasis of great coffee and fresh food. The cafe, located down a leafy side street off Macleay Street, is definitely worth a visit. Their coffee is freshly ground and roasted and always a hit. Foodwise, while not an expansive menu there is something for everyone and you will not be disappointed with your choice. The smoked salmon bruschetta was a great light choice for those wanting a light start to ease yourself into the day. The pickled cucumber and tasty crème fraiche were pleasantly balanced. Those wanting a heartier breakfast could go with some of the other options or check out their specials like we did with the Breakfast couscous and poached fruit. This cafe is a definite spot to start your day if you are in the area of Potts Point - quiet and easy going just away from the centre of the city, do yourself a favour and visit, if only for the great coffee!
In Short: Gypsy Espresso is a cute little cafe that sits just off Macleay St in Potts Point. They roast their own beans featuring great blends and rotating single origin coffees. Be sure to look at their specials board before ordering because we tasted some truly tasty dishes. Sandwiches stacked with Gruyere and Provolone deliver the goods.

القهوة قصة اسمعوها. وش اللي يخلي قهوة زعيط أحسن من قهوة معيط...وجب التوضيح للعموم بحكم إنه زاد السؤال عن سبب اختيار قهوة عن قهوة...... طبيعي إنه القهوة تختلف جودتها بإختلاف منشأها و ارتفاعها و غيره..... طبيعي إنه اللي يتنقى حبوب القهوة يكون له دور في تميز قهوة عن غيرها..... و أكثر من طبيعي إن اللي يسويها.... عنده سالفة. .

بس الجزء اللي يخلي قهوة تفرق عن قهوة مع انها من نفس المزرعة و يسويها نفس الباريستا هو التحميص ... الجزء المهمل في ثقافتنا الخليجية. .

معلومة: أثناء التحميص.... يحدث إنفجارين لحبوب القهوة.... الأول يكون زي صوت البوب كورن و يكون في بداية الاستواء....... و الثاني زي صوت صبَة الكورن فليكس في صحن و انت متأخر ع المدرسة..... التحميص فن و إحساس بحكم إنه بين الصوتين يحدث لحبة القهوة ٢٥٠٠ تفاعل كيميائي فريد يحدد بموجبة خبير التحميص المحترف و المحظوظ في نظري الحمصة اللي تمثله. .

هنا الفن و طولة البال.... هنا الرحلة اللي ما تنتهي بحثا عن الحمصة الأكثر حظا مثل حمصة الجيبسي اسبريسو..... ماريو سولفاكي حتى مش استرالي و جا سيدني قبل عشرين سنة و الحين يمثل المدرسة الأسترالية في فن التحميص التي لا تقبل بالانتاج الكمي على حساب النوعية المتميزة. .

هو اللي أسس توبيس استيت أشهر قهوة هنا و لمن الشريك قرر يقلبها سياحي طلع و سوا قهوة الفتاة الغجرية.... رجع لأصوله الغجرية باحتراف بدل ما يسرق فلوسك .... خلاّك تدفع له و انا مبسوط ثمن لقهوة .....قوامها و شخصيتها لها من اسمها..... ساحرة .... غامضة.... عميقة. . .

This place is really good. Very cosy space, intimate and very friendly service. My breakfast 'burger' with roasted salmon, perfectly soft poached egg and brioche bun was just unreal. And the coffee was great as well.

Gypsy espresso is a small cafe off the main strip in Kings Cross / Potts point. There are about 5 tables inside and a few out the front. They are known for their coffee and the staff have a great knowledge and advice of the coffee. Only too happy to provide me with a weak skim cap. I got it in a takeaway cup as I have a bit of an obsession with artwork cups! It is also a good coffee; gypsy roasters beans. I ordered the ancient grain, sweet corn, tomato, spinach and goats cheese, pumpkin seeds and yogurt dressing salad for my lunch. Absolutely delicious with a really nice dressing, and very healthy. Service was lovely; the barista notably very skilled and a good atmosphere in the cafe - particularly good lady working the till, seemed to know customers well.
Cosy and comfy! We had a lovely lunch of the salmon salad and burger. Gobbled down without any complaints. Staff are divine and super friendly! Don't be fooled by the name the teas are divine too! Great Friday lunch!
Great coffee, can't fault it as it's consistently good and above average. Small selection of food but good quality and service is always friendly. Not that easy to find a parking nearby these days as Potts Point became the "it" place. But great hole in the wall place to have a relaxed coffee.
Quick & friendly service with healthy, fairly common dishes but executed well with quality ingredients and care. Consistently outstanding coffee is what brings the crowds back with pooches in tow. An extremely chilled vibe makes this perfect for a slow weekend morning
By far the best coffee in Sydney. I’m from Sydney and tried so many cafes all over this city for years and Gypsy is exceptional coffee. Amazing staff and always consistent in service and warmth.
Good local cafe. Didn't find it too friendly but it was OK. Had coffee and sat on the sidewalk watching the world go by. Think this would be a great Sunday morning breaky spot.
I came here during the week. It wasn’t too busy so I could sit at a table comfortably. I had a almond flat white and thinly sliced avi and tomato on toast with balsamic vinegar and scramble egg on the side. Well prepared dish with lovely presentation.
Just try - the mango sago pudding/porridge, you will not regret it. And if you are hung over the ham and cheese croissant was so delicious! Really good quality ham not the thin type! Just made my morning!
Had an early breakfast, ordered "The Potts Plate", basically sourdough toast with soft boiled eggs and avocado, with a caprese salad.
the caprese was thick slices of tomato and mozzarella, and was very fresh and refreshing.
The avocado and soft boiled egg were good.
My partner ordered the "Gypsy Scrambled Egg", the egg was something special (see photos), recommended.
