Great spot for authentic Japanese food - we loved everything we had: the mixed tempura, katsu fish, teriyaki salmon, and tempura prawn sushi. Highly recommend. Best we've had in a long time.
- a little bit pricey for the quality of food
- but the food is very authentic
- the owners are very kind and nice
- atmosphere is pretty good: small and cozy!
Food is one step above any other sushi I’ve had in Sydney. Fresh, yummy, high quality food and lots of variety. Have been looking for an authentic, make on spot sushi place for a long time In sydney. Wish this place had opened earlier! Staff are very friendly, and the owner is the chef (I believe!), so is very proud of his food. Best in a long time. lion roll is highly recommended!! 😊
Really good quality dishes, every dish had super fresh ingredients , from the sashimi to the tempuras.
Service was also excellent. Great value, highly recommended.
The freshest sushi in Sydney. The two owners are lovely and they provide an excellent service and make you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for good quality Japanese in Sydney.
We enjoyed dinner on Tuesday night authentic Japanese food. Everyone should try the Suishin Roll something a little different very delicious.
Nice atmosphere!! the Ocean Roll & Suishin Roll were absolutely delicious. My boy loved the caterpillar roll. He finished two dishes of it. Sashimi was super fresh. Definitely come back.:)
Great authentic Japanese food. We had chef's selection of sashimi and nigiri - super-fresh and high quality fish. Other dishes also good including delicious gyoza. Highly recommended.
It’s quite hard to find saucy sushi in sydney, so this place is my to go!! LOVE LOVE LOVE their flavours, and will come back!!
Divine sushi and entrée dishes !
Really enjoyed the Japanese here :))
The service wasn’t the best but will be back :))
Really good Japanese Restaurant with super fresh produce, every plate we ordered was a hit. Would definitely go back to eat there again.
One of the best Japanese restaurant in town. The food was fresh and delicious. The food was freshly prepared. The presentation was stunning. The restaurant ambiance is on point and the staff were very friendly. We will be back soon.
pretty decent neighbourhood Japanese joint at friendly neighbourly prices. Standard dishes you’d expect to see on the menu, cuts of sashimi/sushi pretty fresh. Not run by Japanese people, but dishes still executed quite well. Avg $30 per head. Will return if in the area
Took me back to Japan. Sushi is an art and owner def mastered it! MUST TRY!!! Better than all the fine dining sushi joints
I came here on a Saturday night last weekend and ordered Tempura Udon and the Sushi large set.
The tempura udon was nice and flavourful, noodles were cooked to a good chew, and broth had a umami dashi flavour to it. The tempura prawn and vegetables were decent.
I would've preferred it if the coating was crispier and a little bit thicker as it went soggy quite quickly (due to the broth so that is normal ). The prawn itself was also on the smaller side. A suggestion would be to place the tempura on a separate small plate to accompany the noodles.
The sushi set was great! Fresh fish and the rice had a good amount of flavour, texture and was of decent size. The large set was 20 pieces and came in two plates of 10, which was perfect as I was with my partner. I am unsure if this was due to covid (such that we won't share a plate) but I thought it was a good idea nonetheless especially for dining parties of 2.
Would recommend the sushi set to anyone coming here!
Have passed by here a few times before but hadn't had the opportunity to stop in for a meal.
Recently, on a rare catch up with friends, booked a dinner for three - which ended up being five.
Suishin were very accommodating and able to adjust to the extra guests before we arrived.
Once seated, we were well attended to and our food came out looking fantastic - it also tasted great.
I recommend Suishin to anyone interested.
