Subterranean Greek Bar & Grill is located on lower ground GPO at Martin Place. The food was good and so was the service, I enjoyed the lamb souvlaki.
A classy Greek Mediterranean restaurant located at the basement in Martin Place Sydney. The mixed grilled platter is good and the grilled octopus is a must order. The crystal bar is something quite glittery and fun.

The staff was very attentive and accommodating to our group.
The dishes were very nice, the standouts for me where the Assorted dips with grilled pita bread, the mixed skewers and the chips 👌🏼. Loved the semi-dried tomato aioli dip!
Authentic Greek style food, located underneath the GPO @ 1 Martin Place in the CBD. Once you transcend the spiral staircase, you are submerged into an underground labyrinth of bars & restaurants. We chose Subterranean because we love chargrilled food and were not disappointed. We kept it simple and traditional, Lamb souvlaki plate for me, chicken for wife & daughter, son opted for grilled chicken burger. 2 corona beers, 3 soft drinks, and 4 very satisfied and full customers were more than happy with the $103 bill. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The first thing you’ll notice as you head down to the lower ground of the General Post Office (a stunning and historical building might I add) in Martin Place is the unique ambience that resonates class and sophistication with it’s high benches and tables, dim lighting, suited waiters at the bar and open plan kitchens so you can see the chef cooking your meal. Subterranean was a pain to find but thanks to a helpful waiter and the tiniest sign above our head, we managed to become their first customers for that night.
Lovely Greek eatery underneath Martin Place, with lots of options to choose from including Souvlaki, Shared plates, Fish, Lamb and a wonderful Greek Salad. Zucchini and Haloumi Fritters which come lightly fried alongside a delicious garlic and basil aioli. They look much like flattened out arancini; the crisp, golden outside encasing a creamy, green-flecked filling. The mixed grilled plate is a mish-mash of prawns, chicken and marinated lamb pieces threaded onto metal skewers with a sprinkling of parsley and lemon, tzaziki and a capsicum dip on the side, called Tirokaferti. The dip was a creamy, orange mixture of roasted capsicums and feta, and provided a wonderful, garlicky accompaniment to the grilled meats. Garlic pita bread and chips came with it as well and the chunks of meat were flavoursome and tasty.
My everyday lunch favourite. I eat here every lunchtime and still manage to be surprised by how good it is. The range is wide and so you can have a different meal every day and then some. The price is also very reasonable and you can get a full meal for as little as 20$. Personally if I'm in a rush and want a cheap filling option, I get a Souvlaki chicken wrap. I mean 11$50 to fill me up with beautiful food !!!
Excellent meats !. Large range of meats which can fit everyone's taste. Excellent chips. Rather cheap : an hamburger, chips and salad for only $20
A Hidden Gem. I highly recommend trying Subterranean. The food was delicious especially the chicken that melted in my mouth. The waiters were friendly and came and asked how our meal was and the prices were reasonable. It is a place I will be going to again when I am in Sydney.
