Crazing light desserts in the arvo walking with @Xihuahua đ¶ . I decided to grab matcha donuts from here. Their business is always good. I gotta say their donut is not too sweet and oily which is a surprise. I do not lose appetite after eating it. The banana one is very nice with lots of banana. The match one is good but I cannot taste any matcha. The smaller specialty donuts were small for the price. A very good donut shop worth a visit overall!
Friendly staff. Amazing donuts!
Love the floral coffee. Donuts are good to share. It was too filling for one. Or maybe it's the sweetness.
Simply loved the vibe of the place. The staff are very friendly. They have a collection of donuts which have a few interesting flavours as well.
This is a great spot in Barangaroo for coffee and something sweet. So far, I have tried the maple walnut and brown butter donut which was really good and the sticky date and gingerbread cake (shaped into a donut) which was more dense but really good flavour. The coffee was also really good.
The Earl grey & rose doughnut (has pockets of lemon myrtle goodness inside) and the maple walnut with brown butter (no picture unfortunately) are hands down the best doughnuts ever!
Although expensive for doughnuts, itâs definitely worth it.
I was so excited to come here and Iâve heard a lot of good things about this place. Lots of unique and delicious donuts to choose from. I ordered the cinnamon sugar donut, chocolate and a hazelnut one. Absolutely delicious.
MAPLE BACON LONG JOHN â forget the price, as itâs not on the menu list (maybe a daily change one!) but the taste is good too. It will always be a perfect match when maple meets bacon. Perfectly sweet and crunchy in top of that long john. (9/10)
EARL GREY AND ROSE CAKE ($5) â With the flavoursome and fragrant of the rose oil mix with the bold earl grey, it is totally unique and yummy at the same time. (9/10)
AUSTRALIAN HONEY AND SEA SALT CRULLER ($4.50) â TRIPLE LOVE FOR THIS ONE! Salty and sweet in one bite of donut, who doesnât want it! Totally a must order and take away menu on list! (10/10)
TRIPLE MATCHA CAKE ($5) â HANDS UP FOR THE MATCHA LOVERS! This one is a great donut, itâs not overpowered with a hint of bitterness of matcha. 100% love this one too! (10/10)
I loved everything about Shortstop Donuts! It's a cute shop that looks a little luxurious and feels minimalistic and chic. I ordered a few options: RAISED - Maple Walnut & Brown Butter, FILLED - Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake and CAKE - Triple Matcha and Earl Grey & Rose. Having to catch a plane back to Brisbane, I tasted them once I got home, so they did get slightly squished and a little melted. My favourite flavours were the Maple Walnut and the Lemon Ricotta. The elevated nuttiness from the walnuts and burnt brown butter was divine, whereas the Lemon Ricotta was perfectly tart and the ricotta was not too sweet - both donuts were heaven to bite into. I'm not a fan of Earl Grey in general, and although it was a unique flavour, even with the Rose, the floral flavours weren't working for me. I gave a friend the Matcha so I didn't get to try it.
My friend bought a couple of donuts from Shortstop for me to try recently and there were really good! I had the earl grey & rose and the maple walnut brown butter. They were recommended by the shop and didnât disappoint. Quite sweet but went well with black coffee!
