Sometimes, service is senior to the product, and The Dough Collective justifies that statement. Located on the bustling George street, this small artisan bakery offers a unique combination of sophistication and takeaway bread; it's not often that you see these two things together, especially in Sydney. From the flaky Pain au Chocolat to the airy Parmesan garlic bread, everything at this place is simple and light yet perfect for breakfast. The coffee doesn't disappoint either; the flat whites and the lattes make their way out of the shop every minute, and the different types of bread complement the coffee beautifully.
Coming back to my primary statement about the service being better than the product - Yes, while the product is fine, the service makes me want to go to this place repeatedly. The staff greets you with a big smile, and for me personally, there is always an anticipation from their side of what I am about to order. Such service creates loyalty; no wonder most people in Town Hall grab their breakfast from The Dough Collective every morning.

A really cozy bakery selling artisan bread that has many unique and adventurous Flavours!
The chocolate filling in their chocolate based breads are chunky pieces of chocolates that melt in your mouth (: The texture of the breads are soft, light and fluffy - pairs really well with the flavourful, dense fillings like red beans, cream cheese, chocolate fillings.
Would definitely want to try their azuki loaf next!
Used to be one of my favourite bread shop in the city. The bread is made of great ingredients that when you eat it, you can smell and taste the aromatic flavour of the flour, etc.
They also have tasting samples for most of the bread so you can decide which one you like.
I always get the chocolate ones because they are just simply amazing.
Not too pricey.
