This place is great for a humble and affordable japanese feed. Love their bento options and they’re all very affordable. I always try get their daily special bento but they’ve got a very limited serving of it so get in quick!
Great service. Busy little place but still spacious enough. Will need to put your name down as there is a que usually.
ordered prawn tartar the portion is just too huge for me as asian girl that didn't eat that much katsu for one meal which is worth the money. AND the tartar sauce is wayy too good! boyfriend said the pork katsu is yumm as well. def will be back!
One of the best Bento Boxes around!
But be prepared to wait; peak times can get very busy.
I always go for the Miso Bento
Really crispy tonkatsu. The pork used is very fresh. Good service. Very nice and pleasurable experience. Best tonkatsu in Australia in my opinion.
The store is almost full when you arrive at 6 o 'clock. You need to fill in the information on the list at the door to get the number. The waiting time for one person is short. I ordered the eel bento. The ingredients are rich, the taste is great, the combination is good, and it's worth the price.
Tonkatsu set ($18.80). For a person who love katsu, this dish is the representation of a good katsu; you didn’t even need a sauce to eat this dish because this dish is that damn good and that’s all I have to say. (9/10)
Miso katsu set ($18.80). If you’re bored with a simple katsu dish, maybe you should try this one. Miso is made from soybeans, sea salt and koji – so, there’s a combination of tangy, salty and creaminess from that sauce that adds a unique burst of flavor to the katsu dish. (8/10)
Salmon sashimi ($8.80) . Just a simple and good pieces of salmon. Nothing special! (7/10)
Snowy mountain ($5) - If you know a Japanese drink called calpis, this is literally the combination of calpis and vanilla ice cream in a balance proportion. (8/10)
My absolute go to Japanese restaurant in Sydney. If you enjoy Japanese bento at a decent price, with great quality food and quality service , this is a place you go. I've bring so many friends to this place and never once we walked out of here feeling disappointed. The tonkatsu pork loin set was bomb, the salmon set with tonkatsu is also one of my top choice. The bento is really filling with variety of side dish. The service is efficient and quick, Japanese people always have that warm and friendly vibe about them. Would absolutely recommend everyone to give this place a try while you're in CBD area.
Extremely good quality katsu's in Sydney and probably the best one I've tried so far. Their dishes are on the pricey side but the portion size is huge I couldn't finish all of it myself. The only downside is that it gets quite greasy towards the end.
Miso Restaurant is no doubt one of the best choices when it comes to teikoshu (Japanese set meal). Miso is famous for tonkatsu, the deep-fried pork cutlets. They taste amazing, juicy meat and crunchy skin.
The meal set is filling, hearty with generous portions. It has rice, protein, soup, salad, and sometimes fruit. There is also a daily special to choose from.
The restaurant can be very busy during the lunch & dinner rush, but the service is very good.
Very nice place for hitting that tonkotsu craving. I really recommend here to go if You haven’t as its a hidden gem. Staff are pleasant and very quick. The food came out quickly despite seating a lot of people at once
We came here for a quick dinner.
Really delicious pork katsu don. And chicken katsu set.
Well cooked katsu with a crunchy breadcrumb coating and no left over oil.
They use chicken thigh for the chicken katsu so its not dry and has tonnes of flavour.
Pork katsu was also juicy.
Delicious pickled side condiments to cut and change flavours throughout the meal.
Overall really nice dining experience.
Will definetly be back.
Reccomend dining here.
I had the $28 Salmon Bento takeaway. I ordered before the 530pm open time, 20 mins no problem. Raw & Cooked Salmon in the bento box was nice. Small Miso soup too.
The food is fresh and the service was quick and attentive. The food was good but was just missing that X factor which would make recommend it as something other than a quick bite.
Prices are reasonable and the clean decor and presentation made it good but not spectacular or even memorable.
A wide variety of dishes to choose from. The bento box portions are quite big, so you should get full after eating it (I did). I think that the pricing seemed to be a bit on the expensive side but it is definitely worth the value for the amount of food you get! Service was a bit slow, but it was okay since there were a lot of other customers as well. I enjoyed eating here and would like to come back again.
This Restaurant is one of the best choices when it comes to Japanese set meal. Also, there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The bento box portions are quite big and flavorsome. I will definitely come back and recommend dining here.
