I love their ribs with the number 5 hot chilli sauce, along with a side of spicy water spinach.
Expect your mouth to be on fire, delicious.
as an Indonesian, spicy food is LIFE. been craving for something spicy since I lived in Sydney. finally decided to come here after class with a friend.
it was definitely one of the spiciest sambal i’ve ever had in Australi but it was soooo good. the sambal has a fresh kick to it. must try!
During my recent visit to Sydney, stayed in a friend's place across the road of this resto. I usually dont bother to eat indo food when i'm abroad. Coz my friend dragged me i couldnt resist to try them. Ordered empal shalom aka fried beef indonesian style with sambal. I kid u not their sambal is sooooo spicy i can cry! I m not so into spicy food so for me the sambal is too hot for my taste. But the empal is sooo good defly taste like home but with australian fine beef, unlike the one we eat at home(indo).
Great place for Indo food with great varieties. Good price too. Love their chicken range as they got different type of chillies. Staff is ok.

SHALOM INDONESIAN RESTAURANT @CBD✨
One of the famous Indonesian restaurant in Sydney, this is located in the city. Came here if I crave for indonesian food, already tried so many food from their menus starting from:
-siomay
-bakso
-batagor💖
-es durian💖
-gado-gado
-mie ayam💖
-nasi goreng
-ayam penyet
So far from all of the menu, my favorite one would be with the “💖” emoji. Their ice durian is THE BOOMBBB! Best thing about this restaurant would also be how they serve a wide range variety of food, starting from rice, chicken, beef, siomay, and dessert that is suitable for everyone.

Sometimes the ribs is a bit too dry, but they have always been so good at making the sambal!! The nasi campur tasted very authentic! One of the best indo restaurant in Sydney!
Home Style food, Shalom
This is an Indonesian restaurant located in the heart of the city. The place reminds me of Indonesia and it's cuisines. The diversity of flavours, the rusty feel of the food and it was delicious.

This restaurant have a great food. the iga woku is amazingly tasty. gule kambing also nice ( i suprisingly like it, although i ussually dont eat kambing 😂). you should be patient because the queque is long at lunchie time 😅. Soto ayam and soto betawi was nice. nasi and mie goreng is exactly the same like at indonesian restourant in jakarta. definetely will back for sure !!! 🖤😋
Had lunch at Shalom, the place was crowded and had to jump seats to fit myself in. Ordered beef ball soup and yes i did finish it. The soup had beef balls, tofu, noodles and some sort of fried bread. The food is worth the taste and affordable. I will recommend it to you (reading my comment) and to everyone. Beware they may charge you few cents extra for card payment. But that's ok.
This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Sydney! I have been a regular for around 6 years. I love going here with my mother. We would order ayam goreng shalom and sides such as siomay or fried tofu. Let me just start with the fried chicken, it's so juicy and cooked with amazing spices. Just eating it by itself is already delicious enough. But the chilli sauce, I love it so much. It's so spicy it would make me dizzy but I keep eating it. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. Everything on the menu is so tasty and I'm just so happy for this restaurant. I'm glad that they decided to sell their sambal sauce because my mother and I always buy a bottle every week as our main condiment. I have brought nearly all my friends here and they love this place and would always come back. Keep up the amazing work! I'm going tomorrow for the hundredth time.
Overall the food is quite good. The sate chicken is great. Chicken cooked perfectly and the peanut sauce is really good. The gado gado isn't too bad either.
Shalom is a must visit for a flavour packed snd authentic Indonesian restaurant. Firstly the meals are all cooked fresh to order and their Chilli Sambal is divine and has the right consistency with spice and saltiness. The service was really friendly and the dining area was kept spotless. Must visit for authentic Indonesian food.
This place is really good! Good value for money. The lamb special curry is just splendid! Do visit here if you're in CBD. Their service is really great, fresh food. Thanks for their service. Couldn't click the lamb curry photo since was so busy enjoying it ,😃
Lex's takeaway dinner from @shalomindonesianrestaurant - really yummy yellow rice with fried chicken! The chicken was perfectly fried. Nice and crispy outside and tender on the inside. So good!
Shalom is definitely up there as one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Sydney. The dishes are always packed with flavour and taste as authentic as Indonesian food gets. A must try if you are in the area. Decently priced also and friendly service.
Great Indonesian food. This place is always packed full of Indonesian people so you know the food is good.
I visit regularly and always enjoy the food here. All my favourite Indonesian dishes including Longton rice cakes, Nasi Campung , chicken sate and on my latest visit had their excellent Soto Mie chicken Noodle Soup. So good. Enak sekali!
