There are a great many pubs in the Rocks precinct but the Observer is the one with great (well priced) food and quality wine. Well worthy of your hard earned. Their house Shiraz (Barossa) @$8 per glass is amazing...and during happy at $5 is even more amazing

Great staff, cool drinks from cooled glasses. Food selection is very basic, but pefect in quality. We went here twice during our stay in Sydney and loved the place. Really nice cider from tap!

If your an Australian you have to go to this pub, just for its location, and that is what I did. It was great to sit inside with a beer and feel the history of the place, which is helped by all the memorabilia around the walls. This was really a great experience.

Ordered Medium Rib Eye Steak 2 beers and small chips. All up AUD60. Steak wasnt medium and I did ask for a refund. Chef told nice bar staff I did cut from the side thats why it shows as not medium cooked. Oh well here is the photo of the steak for you to decide. Im happy that I got my money back $33 for rib eye steak. No hard feelings but kitchen can improve in terms of cooking the $33 steaks as requested and also not making unnecessary comments about where the steak was cut from. I hope owner/manager will improve this venue as location is an iconic one!

Excellent pub! Great location, friendly service, nice beers on tap and the $10 fish and chips lunch special alone makes it worth the trip.

Try the Observer hotel while waiting to get on our Cruise ship.The beer was nice and cold and prices not to bad for a city hotel. Location in the Rocks is very handy for the out of town tourist .Staff were a little caught if guard by so many of us cruiser s arriving at the Hotel . The bar staff and the kitchen staff all handle it very well.Food was very tasty , I had the chicken pieces and the wife had the squid which got the thumbs up. All of our group were happy with there food and our shirt visit to the Observer Hotel.
