This small cafe is on George St in Redfern. Make sure to find a table as not many inside and order at the register at the front of the store. The menus are located on the front wall too. At first glance the menu doesn’t look like it has too many items on it (especially for lunch) however what it lacks on options it makes up for quality of the dishes. Service is friendly.
I had a Mocha and they use 5 Sense Coffee which I really enjoyed.
To eat I chose the Scout’s Veggie Toastie as that appealed to me the most. I added poached chicken to it. Slices of Sonoma toasted bread contained roasted mushroom, chargrilled capsicum, roasted broccoli, whipped fetta, provolone, spinach & basil pesto. Loaded full of the good stuff I very much was delighted with this luxe sandwich. Great combination of ingredients and very tasty. Served with a mandarin!

This little coffee shop / sandwich bar is amazing. Scouts Honour. It’s been on our must visit list for a long while now and I’m not sure why it’s taken this long to visit. Anyway, we finally took an empty weekend to head to Redfern with a friend for lunch. Located on George St in a side street off Regent St, the store looks inconspicuous from the front with a graffiti roller door and coffee bench on the store frontage. Order at the counter and take a seat up the back of the shop.
Their catering is fabulous! Really delicious food, accomodating for different dietary requirements, on time with delivery and super friendly service.
Words cannot express how much I love this little affordable cafe. The food is fresh and fast, the sandwiches are sensational and the staff are the sweetest. It’s also vegetarian friendly.
Very nice Cappuccino ($3.50) using Five Senses Coffee served in a small cup that gives a good hit of flavour. Cookie heaven to be found here. Nutella Cookie ($4) and Peanut Butter Cookie ($4) so good they're dangerous. Just the right crunchy texture on the outside with a soft gooey like texture to be found in the epicentre of chocolate or peanut butter goodness. Pretty cool decor and some seating to be found inside at either the high tables or larger common table. Not so keen on the metal seating though which looks cool but makes a hell of a noise when moving along the hard floor. Menu looks reasonably priced so definitely keen to revisit. Service friendly and parking can be a little bit of challenge in the area.
The food is fantastic, and the people are great. All fresh ingredients, and the menu changes.
It can be a really long wait though for something pretty simple. It's just a bit too slow.
Great food, only downside is there busy because they have Moreish food. This is the place that made me start enjoying cafe food again after a long time of having giving up.
This is my absolute favourite for local brunch, the menu consists of healthy yet hearty meals that warm up the spine. As a smashed avocado tycoon, I must say this is one of the best in Sydney. The reason being is because it comes with toasted sunflower seeds and dill that give it the extra flavour. The tomato that comes with the dish is perfectly toasted so that it melts into your mouth with the rest of the dish ! I also highly recommend the fruit toast, filled with many varieties of fruit which I feel was not just tossed onto the toast but strategically chosen to blend harmoniously with the warm ricotta and the perfect drizzle of honey!
Not only are the staff really friendly as if they were your neighbours but also the price point ! You definitely get your honour's worth for such thought out and healthy recipes, which is unheard of in gentrified Sydney today. My only qualm is that it should get an eftpos machine, as a local this is what sometimes makes me go to other places instead.
I had an amazing salad, coming from the Byron area we are used to good food but this was better than good! the service is very friendly and not a long wait, so looking forward to returning eat here again.
Scout's Honour ticks all of the boxes for me. Friendly staff. Great strong and hot coffee. I had the Nourish Bowl for breakfast. It was SO delicious and well seasoned. I loved the toast with Avi and it was really well priced for how much you get. I will be back for sure. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because it's cash only, which if you know that, it doesn't really bother me.

I think this place should be a local institution if it is not already. It is what a local cafe should be with out all the bells and whistles - solid food, friendly service and great coffee. They rotate salads but they are always amazing fresh and flavourful
One of my favourite cafés in Sydney, and definitely the one I visit the most. All the food is delicious and healthy, with interesting flavour combos. They also have a constantly changing menu that has featured some of the best sandwiches of my life.
Really nice food and coffees. It's super cool this little Cafe with having I usual twists on classics and full of flavour. The staff are all young and hip but also very nice and deliver great service. There's wifi and a good amount of seating. All food is made on site and all their baked goods are amazing! Today I had their potato salad toastie and it was just yummy.
Yummy fresh spices in my chai latte, haloumi salad tasty, Korean chicken wrap reaalllllly yum! Bf loves his mocha. Thanks team!!!
Great value for money with their breakfast special menu, pictured is the nourish bowl for $15, not pictured: pleasant service and delicious chai tea.
The coffee here is well loved in the area, and people are out the front pretty much all day. They do the best muffins in the area, or anywhere really. Their food menu isn't extensive, but what they offer is a little different, and well made. I've only had takeaway from here.
Scout's provide the yummiest muffins I have ever tasted in my life!! Their flavour combinations are next level; pear and choc, ricotta + strawb + walnut...the list goes on !! The whole cafe is amazing, such a warm atmosphere, and they provide such quality food and coffee for such cheap prices :)) thankyou scouts!
