Voted as one of the 50 Best Bars in the World, we kinda liked the whole vibe, dj, energy, extensive and interesting cocktail menu and but obviously, the two drinks we ordered (before going on a beautiful walk to Sydney Harbour Bridge.)

Espresso Martiki and Tropicana (that came with an edible QR Code ) were both impressive and refreshing...Especially Espresso Martiki that has an interesting combination of Pineapple Rum and Espresso. Strong and kicking!!

Tropicana was made with an 8 yr old rum and had a nice balance of smokiness and coconut-ty. Right punch for us!

Bartenders are energetic and quite friendly...and so were the attendants .

The reason it missed getting full 5 was cramped small space with very uninteresting decor. For a bar of that calibre we had expected a more spacious and done-up place.

A must visit

Maybe Sammy is a ridiculously cool and fun bar, tucked away on Harrington Street in the Rocks. It has won a slew of impressive-sounding awards, such as making it onto the World’s 50 Best Bars list for 2019, as the only Australian entry. Meeting a friend from out of town for pre-dinner drinks, this was the perfect spot. We grabbed a seat at the bar, and were treated to the hospitality of one of bar owners. It really makes an impression on you when a charismatic bartender is providing great service to you and obviously enjoying himself while doing so.

How do I explain this, it’s like a hotel bar without the hotel. The vibe is so cool. Drinks menu is very clever with each cocktail named after a Vegas casino. The lads behind the bar have big friendly personalities. Epic venue! Can’t wait to go back and try the food.

One minute, you’re on Harrington Street in The Rocks. Nek minute, you’re in a 1950s Las Vegas-style cocktail bar. From the folks behind the Surry Hills’ pizzeria Maybe Frank, Maybe Sammy is sophisticated, glamorous, fancy and full of flamingos. Named after Sammy Davis Jr, this high-end drinkery is also decked out with a marble bar flanked by bar stools, booths clad in pink velour and lots of gold.

The novella-size drinks menu kicks off with eight signature cocktails. Try the Silver Slipper, a concoction of Tanqueray gin, Oscar 697 Bianco vermouth, Chartreuse, verjuice and clarified lemon cordial. Or get trousered with the Horseshoe, a cocktail of Hennessy VSOP cognac, Mr Black amaro, Noilly Prat vermouth, cacao and almonds.

Walked in with a group, no booking. They an where very accommodating and nice. Had a seat outside, never ventured inside. We all had a big variety of cocktails and they where all nice, strong. Check ingredients before ordering to make sure you like the flavours or you could be in for a rough drink.

Great service. Really nice ambience as well , music started jazzy but moved to be a bit more mambo / Latin as the night progressed. It was loud but not in a bad way where you can’t have a conversation. We got a couple of drinks from their stardust menu. All of them were pretty good , original and creative . I found them not to be too sweet and very balanced. My favorite was the “prince and the show girl “ but my partner also enjoyed “coco channel’s” drink . Both amazing , different styles. The glasses were also all different and very creative. We also ordered a focaccia , to be honest didn’t really matched the drinks but we were hungry and it was good. Really enjoyed the experience will definitely come back 👍

I love the vibe of this place. The bartenders are happy and singing along with the music, it's cosy, the lighting is soft, the drinks were nice, great ambience. I came here for the mini cocktails, but if I had to do it again I'd try more of the regular cocktails since I enjoyed them far more. I had a few favourites like the national velvet, but then the staff helped recommend me drinks that were even better based off what I liked, which I really enjoyed. The cheese platter was really nice too. I love cheese so much. I'll continue to come here again :)

Busy new age bar. Opens doors at 4.30pm sat and there's a queue already. There's happy hour till 5.30pm where oysters r $2, and u can get mini cocktails. But they don't look as good as the full sized versions which r around $25 each. Service is friendly, but it's busy, so it can be slow, and it's very loud so definitely not great for groups as you can't hear each other or sit properly unless you sit outside.

Such a great place to enjoy some cocktails and music. I went on Friday night and we were very lucky to get a table without waiting for it. I bet these days people are avoiding going out or isolating at home due to Covid, that's why we were so lucky. Staff is very friendly and kind. If you sit at the bar you'll enjoy the bartenders preparing all the cocktails. I order the Blue Moon cocktail and I really liked it, however the portion of the cocktails are too small for the price you are paying for them. Mine was gone in a couple of sips. The atmosphere is vibrant and very cool.

Just saw on Timeout Magazine that Maybe Sammy was voted as the best bar in Sydney for 2021 and I have to vouch for this! We came with friends who drinks and doesn’t but we all agreed that this is the best bar experience in Sydney. Be sure to visit during the happy hours time between 4.30 to 5.30 pm to try on their renowned mini sammys - small and affordable yet amazing cockstails!

The service was absolutely incredible. We came on a weeknight for my partner’s birthday and we were very well looked after. We had the mini cocktails, which were delicious (particularly the coffee). The staff were very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. They were also kind enough to give us champagne for my partner’s birthday and went out of their way to make his night special, which I really appreciated. We will absolutely be back and recommending this place to everyone we know! Also the complimentary nuts were delicious and we’ll be making them at home :)
