My favourite breakfast spot. Beside the glistening river and a wonderful playground, Armory wharf is a family friendly must visit in Sydney Olympic Park. For starters I usually call for the big breakfast or an eggs Benedict if I miss their breakfast serving time (opening-11:30am). For lunch I always rush down to the pasta section, for an exotic taste to the tongue the chilli prawn linguine is a must (might be a bit spicy) but only available in summer/spring. For winter/autumn I order the crab pasta which is also never a let down. overall, the salads and kids meals at armory are also the best I’ve ever had. With good food comes good scenery which is a definite bonus despite the inconvenient location.
This cafe has been on my list for years! I live fairly close by, and the fact I had never been definitely didn't sit well with me. For a lazy Sunday brunch we headed to the wharf, and ordered the corn fritters along with the vegetable frittata. We also ordered some iced tea and a fresh smoothie too. First thing, the serving sizes are quite substantial! We really struggled to finish the fritters. The fritters were quite tasty and the greens certainly lightened up the otherwise heavy corn fritter itself. The smoothie was fresh though a little sweet for my liking. I also wished they had house iced teas - but really not a major issue. The frittata was tasty and well seasoned, and the sweet potato chips were a wonderful accompaniment to them too. The salad was average but still went well with the warm frittata. Service here is friendly and the food was brought out to us quite quickly too. The spot is really quite nice and there is a lovely walk around the cafe too. It's quaint and fairly quiet which is great for a lazy brunch :)
