Been there for a lunch once, ordered stewed beef curry with rice. The taste was good, the beef was tender. Besides, the price was quite satisfying, such a large portion of food cost me less than 15 dollars. However, the attitude of the staff there was really bad. She was in such a rush that she asked me to order immediately even I hadn’t got my menu yet!
Probably my favourite Asian brunch spot. Located on Level 2 of the Dixon House building, it’s absolutely hidden with no foot traffic. Though only relying on word of mouth, Ching Yip is always busy, even at 8.30am in the morning.
Today I ordered the sweet corn and beef with rice, and a grass jelly and milk drink. The sweet corn with beef was amazing and though it doesn’t look like much, it has all the right flavours. The grass jelly drink was a bit too sweet, I’d probably stick to the iced milk tea next time.

Nothing aesthetically pleasing, just wholesome food and Hong Kong style cafe.
We came in to try their claypot rice but it's a 30min wait because it was busy so we didn't get it. But make sure you order it ... I will need to come back for it soon.

Always come here for their claypot rice. Not many place have this dish. pork and salty fish is my favourite, the wait is around 20 min.
The hongkong milk tea is very yum as well, it has a great strong tea flavour combine with milk. Although the service is not the warmest, i will still coming back for the food
Food and soup were very good, and it was cheap as ($12 for the set menu). Ambience was '1980s/1990s old-style Cantonese coffee house'.
Service was lacking - it seems they want you in quick and out quicker - but it didn't matter too much to me.
i love me some spam~ haven't had cha chan teng food too many times bt it looked like they got most things here. i could prob make the spam egg rice dish at home when i'm craving tho and the workers asked me what i wanted to order 5 times in a span of 10 minutes like pls be patient with me T^T would come back to try other things on the menu
Most authentic HongKong-style coffee lounge in town. Recommend Ching Yip coffee lounge to all people from HongKong or Canton. All dishes are good!
Quiet in a busy street, it's upstairs, nice place to enjoy . And food is cheap. I ordered pork knuckles with noodles, well cooked and tasty.
A traditional Hong Kong cafe in Chinatown for more than 25 years. This is a regular lunch place for me. I love their ice milk tea and curry beef rice. And thicken creamy chicken rice is very delicious too.
Very standard Hong Kong style cafe that gets the job done when you're craving some simple foods. Service is very rushed and the wait staff gets very angry when you take too long.
A cafe (hidden on level 3 of a long standing shopping centre inside China town) has opened its door for 33years! Although it’s not a fancy cafe like those latest and shiniest, everyone who has dined here has acquainted to the taste and the service here. Sometimes the services can be quite abrupte for some (all part of the authentic experience) but the food, the price, and the experience combined is like no where else. Thanks for all the memories in the past years.
Awesome spot for Hong Kong style food. Usually get the noodles with spam and egg. Super cheap and very tasty. Service is quick and friendly.

Don't expect service with a smile. Quality, service and price, you can only have two and service isn't one of them.
Feels like the most authentic experience in Chinatown to feel like you have really immersed in the local community. A lot of regulars and Asian costumers. The food is great and cheap and the service is fast and very kind. Would like to experience this again. Bare in mind that it is located in the second floor of the mini mall, so it's not easy to find, but really worth it, very Hong Kong feel.

Service:
-The man serving us was very eager to get an order, probably too eager because we told him we were still looking at the meal and he just stood there waiting for us (a bit of personal space would be nice)
Drinks:
-Got the red bean (Nice but a bit on the sweet side)
Food:
-The oven baked pork chop rice never goes wrong. You can try various flavours for the sauce, Tomato (original), Cream corn (my personal recommendation) and black pepper.
Closest thing you can get to HongKong authentic breakfast place.
Food is not comparable to HongKong but it definitely is worth trying!
Nice small cafe like Cantonese (Hong Kong) restaurant. Prices were good and food quality was good. Nice staff there. Drinks were also nice. Good tea base (茶膽) very good milk tea and lemon tea.
