Speedy caff. These guys have been going strong for over ten years now. The coffee, a little on the warm side, is reliably good and made with precision and haste. On the food side of things you can find lasagne, soup, frittata and a selection of sweet pastries
Found this place through a friend. Yes some items are expensive like the toasted ham and cheese sandwich. But when you take into account gruyere cheese is around $56 a kilo you can understand why. And with me there are three things that I judge and provide reviews on 1 - consistency, 2- friendliness 3 - flavour. Always consistent with their coffee and tempered just the way I like it. Always friendly and know you by name. Lastly flavour, that toasted ham and cheese is to die for. Never have I experience oily. Only fresh and tasty. And let’s be real guys - after the pandemic so many good retail went bust not only because of the pandemic, but also the quality of their food went downhill and the portions became less, yet they charged more. This cafe deserves some recognition. Well done guys, keep up the great work. The bad reviews would have been posted from people who pay $2.50 for toasted sandwich.
Love this cafe, it has been my local every time I work in the city for years now. Great food, amazing customer service and the coffee is just perfect.
Great little stopping place along Park street that offers a very good, quick coffee and a number of light lunch snacks etc. Staff are friendly and care about quality. It can get crowded around lunch hour, so best to visit in between peak times. I like the cozy feel during the colder months of the year. This place also does a lot of take-away for nearby offices.
Love the sausage rolls here. They are bloody enormous! You can even get a side of salad because balance is key. Staff are friendly and they also make great coffee.
In a city of very high standards of coffee this place stands out! Great coffee, and great food. Salt of the earth staff that balance speedy service and smiles.
I recommend the turkey rye roll (toasted) or avo toast (chilli, feta, tomato and vegemite) for breakfast. If it’s lunch, and the tuna salad is Aaamazing!
No place is perfect, but Speed Bar is the most consistently great coffee, and food I’ve found this side of the North Pole…

Friendly staff, terrific coffee and speedy service. I’ve tried virtually every cafe in the city as someone who lives in the neighbourhood, and this place is 10/10 my absolute favourite.
