This sure is the place if you’re after some of the best cocktails in Sydney. These guys have won all kinds of awards for their cocktail-making prowess, and all deserved because they most definitely know their way around a cocktail shaker. Choose something off the menu or ask for something bespoke – the dapper gents behind the bar will happily oblige. There’s also a tightly-curated list of wines, spritzes and snack foods.
This Must Be The Place isn’t like any other small bar in the area. For starters, it stands alone on Oxford Street. Secondly, the space is light and bright. Thirdly, the service is next level friendly.
The ambiance was nice; dark, candle lit, and intimate. Athough it was bustling with people, the ambiance produced a sense of calmness.
Had the Belafonte and Gloss cocktails and they were creative and exotic, full of flavour!
And to top it off, the service was excellent 👌🏼

It's primarily a bar serving a good range of cocktails and wines, they do have some food but on this occasion we were just there for drinks. The cocktail menu is one that i've not seen before; an interesting array of ingredients like rose water, eucalyptus etc. Apparently the bar tender is an award winning cocktail maker - wouldn't be surprised! He also offered suggestions as to drinks we'd like. Great visit.

Great tasting drinks and nice, bright ambience and decor. Also had some of the snacks which were pretty good.
Would like to come back to try some more of their creations.
Gorgeous cocktail / wine bar. Went here on Saturday for drinks for a friends birthday. They have a small selection of cocktails on the menu but they will also make something up for you if you ask. I tried the Gloss and the Emerald City and they were just divine! Some of the best cocktails I have ever had - and at about $14 each it's quite reasonable for an excellent beverage.
The bar staff are so attentive and friendly - and being a small bar allows for personalised service.
The bright lighting makes a nice change from the dimmer bars that are currently trending.
Will be back!

Cosy little venue with their own unique touch. Passionate about their story and making great cocktails with unusual products. You've got to try it.

Amazing place! The cocktails here are of the highest quality, and far far exceed most in the city. Menu is small but they do make cocktails off the menu as well. Atmosphere is VERY chill and location is right on the main strip... albeit not obvious. Worth taking the time to come and enjoy... you will NOT be disappointed if you want the absolute best drinks and don’t mind paying the appropriate money for it.
I had my birthday party at This Must be the Place and it was perfect.
Firstly, the staff were so fantastic, easy to deal with and so accomodating. The drinks were lovely and the antipasto table was delicious.
Luke also arranged with a local pizza restaurant for pizzas to be delivered a bit later in the night and they were perfect.
The room is so lovely and the perfect size, everyone mixed really well.
I couldn't recommend this venue for a private party more - I loved it and all of my friends called me the next day to say how great the venue was and the staff were!
My partner and I went on a Wednesday evening after hearing that this is the bar that bartenders go to in their spare time. There were only a handful of other people there, which I loved because the bartender was able to make us some great drinks without feeling pressured by a busy night. We ordered two drinks off the menu to start, and they were both weird and funky and delicious. Then we asked the bartender to make us some drinks based off the flavour profiles we each like. Both of the drinks he made up were fantastic and just what I wanted. We also ate chicharrones and chips, which were good. I highly enjoyed this place. It's quiet and had good lighting and the toilet was super clean, unlike a lot of places that are ultra dark and loud and pretending to be good cocktail bars. This place actually is. I look forward to going back.
Lovely:) small cocktail list but interesting, ever-changing and with locally sourced ingredients. Great wine list and a yummy grilled cheese 🧀🍞 Fantastic service, so friendly. Will definitely be back, we had a great time!
This must be the place hosted our farewell party in their upstairs bar. I can't recommend this place enough. Luke and his team were great and made the whole organisation process easy. The drink and food options were a real hit and the venue looked great on the day. They allowed us to take over the space and play all our own music. Would strongly recommend.
