Every dish was great, no faults. Very goood local joint, low-key and casual.
We ordered
- crab cream croquettes. super creamy yum
- the tsukunes
- entree sashimi with aburi salmon
- aburi salmon roll
- cold soba (wasn’t on the menu but they did it for us!!)
They used fresh wasabi which we highly rated since that is very rare!
Sashimi was fresh.
10/10 YUM
loved this place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good and food came out quickly. cant wait to go back to try other dishes
Pretty good casual place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I got the ‘Teriyaki Salmon’ main dish – Rice with organic Quinoa, mashed potato (you can’t see it but it’s under the salmon), mixed leaf salad, teriyaki salmon and lotus root chips. Comes with miso soup for $14.20. This place has many vegetarian, vegan and GF options too! Service was good and food came out quickly.
Delicious salmon salad. We tried few dishes and all were commendable. I have had better Takoyaki elsewhere. The ambiance and service is great. Would visit again.
I have no idea how long Sushi Jones has been open for, but somehow, I had managed to miss noticing its street location near the Dan Murphy’s in Alexandria for all of this time. Wasted time, I might add!
Sushi Jones was great. There was a varied Japanese menu from small dishes to hot pots to rice dishes to sushi and sashimi plates. The main takeaway (no pun intended) from dining there was that the food was very fresh and tastes very ‘clean’.
Miso eggplant is one of my all-time favourite Japanese dishes. The creaminess of the eggplant combined with the gooey, sticky sweetness of the caramelised miso is just perfection. The dish at Sushi Jones was fantastic and had just the right amount of sweetness with a great crispiness on the eggplants from the light batter.

A nice variety on the menu, everything is really fresh. The restaurant is pet friendly with outdoor area and staff are always smiling and really helpful.
This is great local Japanese restaurant and is very popular with local families. The food is excellent light and fresh and the staff are always very accomodating especially the owner.
For pre-prepared container sushi, this place is really quite good. The salmon and avo rolls were fresh and moist, the prawn rolls had a really nice mayo sauce, which combined, had perfect texture and great flavour. The miso was a little more dense with ingredients that I'm used to, but it worked, very nice.
Quick lunchtime service and a nice quiet seated area.
Had a Katsu cold soba. Absolutely amazing in summer. Very refreshing and delicious, especially with the wasabi through it! Katsu was nothing impressive but still quite tasty. The food here is very good. Worth dropping in for lunch on occasions if your close by.
Cheap and cheerful casual Japanese bistro. Tasty food and friendly service. Great little local and pet friendly. Will be back
Had lunch with my daughter, staff were very friendly.
Food was fresh with complimentary self serve filtered water.
But I have to mention the seating, the chairs were just so very comfortable. Soft cushion seat and curved back. Rare to find comfortable seating these days. I think I'll go back just because the chairs were so comfortable.
Love the ambience, spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and food is consistent and smashingly delish.
A local Japanese serving the industrial area in Alexandria. They sell good value lunch, rice bowl set, noodles, Japanese Curry, Hot Poke bowl, small dishes and Sushi and Sashimi. I have the Tempura Prawn Don with 2 pieces of tempura prawn and three pieces of mixed vegetables tempura, teriyaki sauce, Japanese pickles, shallot and seaweed on rice with miso soup. Classic Japanese dishes done well here and it's reasonably price.
Me and my wife gave this place a try because of their vegan options, especially when they have vegan soup base option for their ramen.
It was Saturday night and the temperature are quite cold so we sat indoor, this place isn't big but enough to accommodate a couple of families, with more tables outdoor.
We were greeted with a friendly smile as soon as we arrived and their staff were extremely patient with us while we go through my wife's special dietary requirements (vegan and allergy).
If all possible, I would have given them 6 stars for customer service.
Every table had soy source, spices, cutlery including forks, spoons and chopsticks, which I considered it a nice touch.
We were given the menu, along with water jar and glasses. And more than ample time to make our decisions.
While waiting for the meal to arrive, one of the waitress brought us a sample size complimentary spinach salad, although it wasn't suitable for vegan, it is still delicious.
All the dishes arrived beautifully set on their plates, ingredients are fresh and their special sauces compliments the food perfectly.
This is now my new favourite Japanese restaurant!
My favourite is the okonomiyaki! Even though not as good as what I tried in Japan, the texture and veggies filling and mayonnaise used are super good. I ordered the king fish which came with large portion and it tasted good. I also tried a bit of the Japanese curry which has a bit spicy taste and even go well with the lotus chips. The eel is not very fishy. Well, the chicken Katsu ramen is not that satisfying. Chicken is too dry and doesn’t have too much taste. Still, I would recommend this place as most dishes are awesome. Btw, I really love the plates they are using. In terms of service, the waiters are quite friendly but a bit careless, as they always failed to notice us when we are in need.
My second visit here . Excellent presentation of Japanese cusine, fast service, friendly staff, and affordable food price as well as a bottle of wine.
