What a gem of a restaurant. Dish is located at the other end of Glebe Point Road, past the Toxteth Hotel. It’s cute, the food is excellent as is the service and when I get a hankering for good Sri Lankan food, this will be the only place I will go. #srilankan

We ordered the pakoras, which came with some very tasty condiments, kottu rotti and the hoppers with lamb curry.

Everything was cooked well and extremely tasty. The lamb was tender and the kottu roti had just the right mix of meat / veg / rotti. The hoppers and condiments were also delicious.

We will definitely be back to try more dishes

There are very few places in all of Sydney that cooks Sinhalese style Sri Lankan food and this is one of them.

The restaurant is in the quiet end of Glebe and ambiance is pleasing. Food is delectable. Very authentic. We tried Dhal, Kale, seafood friedrice, pork curry, egg plant, lumprais and fish curry. Deserts were sweet hoppers.

The curries were delicious, filling and the service friendly. The butterscotch and banana hopper was an absolute show stopper. Cannot recommend it enough. And finally can't wait to go back.

This was the second place we visited as part of The Glebe Tasting Treks. This was to be the main course of our progressive dinner. The aromas that greeted us entry were infectious and set us up for a lovely meal. Staff were pleasant and very accommodating. They don’t serve alcohol here however welcome to BYO.

We were all brought some refreshing Mango Lassi to begin. These were definitely needed as spice levels were higher than I’m usually accustomed to. The dairy in it has a nice cooling effect. We were all brought a plate of different hoppers including an egg one as well as some noodle ones and bread. We were surprised at the generosity of this as thought we’d be sharing a plate each. These were the perfect vessels to mop up the shared curries including a chicken one as well as a vegetarian one. Lots of other condiments accompanied these and made for a filling meal.

Might be slightly cramped inside and a bit loud once everyone started chatting but definitely a must try if in the area.

This is a really good take on Sri Lankan Cuisine and really caters to those are vegetarian.
Atmosphere and environment is spot on 10/10 can feel crowded but that's part of the Sri Lankan charm where giving food should be cozy and home like.
Here you will be able to select anything and not be dissapointed, for starters get the Vegetarian Cutlets or Polloss cutlets, the fish cutlets are just as good! More so, Lankan places that serve something called Hot Butter Cuttlefish, Calamari or Squid is something to really melt them taste buds and definitely give a the Fried White Bait a go! It'll go well with a beer.
Vegetarian Biryani and Chicken Lamprais is definitely something to munch for mains, but there was so much food we ordered off the menu, literally every thing was great.
Desert, oh man, Milk Hopper (Kiri Aappa) is a delicacy that just shows how different Lankan cuisine incorporates sweetness into food. There is also a paper cone sweet dosa like dish, served with ice cream. That is also something that won't dissapoint.
Take your first date here and wow him/her. A vegetarian and Sri Lankan's haven for food.
The owner is also a really kind and friendly person, who does make some amazing recommendations!

Delicious, delicious food, friendly, efficient service and a fun vibe. Had string hoppers with delicious sambol and sauce, five curries - potato, kale, eggplant, dahl  & prawn - all scrumptious. Desserts: Watalappam (on the sweet side), fudge hopper (sweet also) and buttermilk hopper with berries. Can't wait to go back.

This place have been recommended by our friends from so long and finally today we hit them up while we were in Glebe and luckily they had time for dinner. The place was beautifully lit up and had a great seating capacity. We brought our own wine and enjoyed it with the Srilankan cuisine. They served amazing hoppers and kottu roti. Tasted great and the service was great too.

For authentic Sri Lankan food like hoppers, dosas and curries, Toongabbie’s Dish has opened a second restaurant in Glebe!

The Classic hopper breakfast ($19.90) calls my name, there’s 2 plain and 1 egg hopper, sambol and chicken curry. I fricken love hoppers, they’re made of fermented rice flour and coconut milk batter, are crispy on the edges and satisfyingly thicker in the middle like a pancake or thin crepe. Use your hands and tear strips off to dunk in the curry and you’ll be one happy camper.

Had a great night at Dish with our family of 7. The only downside was we were squashed on a table for 6 and there was hardly any room for our food, but we didn't let this spoil our night as the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was authentic and tasty. Having visited Sri Lanka several times it was truly wonderful to experience the egg hoppers again, served with authentic tasting curries. The heat was not there, and although not all Sri Lankan food is hot, an option to request hotter curries would be a bonus. The goat curry was tender and we loved the biryani served with the lamb short ribs. The masala dosa was a lovely taste and texture sensation and all other dishes added a unique range of flavours and textures, including accompaniments, which you don't have to pay extra for. The restaurant is tiny and noisy, but this added to the atmosphere and you wouldn't come for a romantic dinner. Make sure you book as people were being turned away all night. We will be back as there is lots else to try, but I will always order an egg hopper as these shout Sri Lanka and are a perfect alternative to rice when filled with curries and dahl.

absolutely amazed at the food we ate tonight! I have not been able to find vegan kottu anywhere before so I was super happy to be able to eat it at dish. The food came quickly and was delicious. we ordered the potato curry and the vegan kottu. so sad that I do not live in Sydney otherwise this place would become a go to for me. definitely recommend making the trip to visit if you're looking for good vegan Sri Lankan food.

Absolutely delicious Sri Lankan food. Friendly and fast service. Generous portions and reasonably priced (approx $23 a dish). All the dishes were unique and flavourful. Recommend the lamb dosa (which is HUGE), roti kottu (my favourite), lamprais, beef curry with roti, mango lassi. They make the roti, dosa and hoppers fresh. The waitress checked up on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was good. Colourful decor and located in the quiet end of Glebe point road. Will be back to try more dishes

Fantastic Food, even though the restaurant was struggling with staff shortages due to covid they took care of us really well no complains. As vegetarians we had no complains either. We enjoyed the hoppers, parathas, jackfruit biriyani and particularly the desserts.

Wow! Such a flavour explosion, especially the lamb, beef and string hoppers. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Just a slightly inconvienient placing of our table in the back room, (party of 5), only a minor thing tho. Recommended... WILL be back!

Really excellent food that everyone in the family loved. We came here for a big family dinner and everything on the menu was fantastic. The hoppers were freshly made, curries were fragrant and everything very well priced. Don't miss out on the entree plate either. We will be back! Thanks to staff at the restaurant.

Mind blown. Vegan Curry and rice combo is simply one of the best tasting indian/sri Lankan combos ever! (Even compared to meat dishes). Sago dessert is also crazy good.

This is our go to when we crave Sri Lankan authentic food. The aromas once you walk into this restaurant gets your taste buds going. The staff are very friendly, and the food is amazing. We particularly love their goat and fish curry. See you for takeaway tonight!

We went to this place yesterday. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we had to rush out of place without having dinner. At the time, we had ordered entrees and some drinks. Girls at the cashier (front serving area) were humble enough to cancel the order without any charge. An hour later, one of us left his very expensive phone on a table at the restaurant. The restaurant team secured and returned it to us. Their honesty and hospitality are exceptional. We will definitely revisit this place—highly recommended place.
