Came here for a Christmas party and really liked the vibe and openness of the rooftop bar. We were served an assortment of finger foods, most of which I really enjoyed, especially the sliders. Lemon lime bitters are good too. Not sure if they have an elevator but keep in mind that you need to walk up quite a number of steps to get to the roof so be prepared!

Had some really good bbq brisket here.  Most was really tender, some was tough but still very flavoursome, and 3 slices for $20 with a side of good mac and cheese is great.  Which was strange because the drinks were quite expensive.  It's a very nice bar though with fancy fitout and good jazz so it's probably still worth it.

One of the establishments that have held the test of time in the Cross, this used to be my old stomping ground at Kitt & Kaboodle. decent beers down on ground level with the Newtown Lager. Great rooftop bar and I really enjoyed there chicken parm!

Fantastic pub in Kings Cross. Today they had a Tuesday special being $12 for steak fries and coleslaw. The meal was tasty and definitely worth the price.

Just a short walk from Kings Cross Station is the revamped Potts Point Hotel. It’s been transformed into a beautiful classic hotel lobby-like space with tropical/Art Deco/luxe vibes - it’s very Instagrammable. The new menu shows off the kitchen’s new smoker and the cheeky cocktail list is inspired by iconic characters in Kings Cross’s history. Potts Point Hotel is also the first restaurant in Australia to feature “dessert burgers” - I’ll get into this a bit later!

The menu has a distinct Southern feel; American comfort food is certainly having a moment in Sydney and I am not complaining. We ordered some highly addictive potato skins, and of course had to sample the fruits of the smoker imported from the States with the “burnt ends” and beef brisket. The potato skins were topped with bacon and green onion, and drizzled with sriracha and kewpie mayo resulting in little crispy boats of perfection.

The burnt ends were small pieces of pork belly with an intense barbeque flavour, and tender but firm texture. The beef brisket was my favourite dish of the night. I think this is a must-try because I was quite taken aback by the incredible flavour that the smoker produced. It tasted smoky of course, but also woody in that you could sense the deep fragrance from whatever tree the smoker’s wood came from. The meat is presented in large slices and it is quite a sight to behold; the edges were blackened and the meat on the inside was so evenly cooked and was incredibly tender and delicate. The brisket is also served with warm cornbread which was an understated but essential and delicious accompaniment to the dish.

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t try a burger so I decided to also sink my teeth into the chilli fried chicken burger, complete with lettuce, cheese and a tangy yogurt and cucumber dressing. It is perhaps not the most conventional combination of flavours and textures but boy did it work. The chicken was tender and coated in a crunchy batter. The richness of the chicken was very well balanced by the freshness of the yogurt and cucumber dressing, and the whole concoction was a mess to eat, which is always a sign of a burger well done in my opinion.

And now, what we’ve all been waiting for. What are dessert burgers?? Potts Point Hotel are clearly fans of importing amazing kitchen equipment from overseas as their special dessert burger press came from Italy. Essentially ice cream and other fillings (in our case peanut butter and Oreos, which is incidentally the best flavour combination in the history of the world) are placed between a brioche bun and then pressed so the edges are sealed. It looks a bit like a filled doughnut but the bread is hot when it comes out and when you cut into it, you get the contrasting coolness of the ice cream filling. Simply divine. It is pleasantly not as full on of a dessert as you would think; we were able to finish ours even after eating all of the preceding food.

Potts Point Hotel has undergone a highly successful reinvention, and whilst it has still retained its status as a casual pub, it has also become a more upmarket destination for unique food. The fit out is classic and stylish with plans to bring in more quirky decor elements, although serving as host of weekly “tranny bingo” may fulfil the quirkiness quota! The menu is well thought out and highlights great ingredients and great cooking like the star smoker. The food is truly fantastic and there’s nowhere else in the city doing what they’re doing so I definitely think Potts Point Hotel is worth a visit.

The portions here were huge! The staff were beyond friendly and helpful, happy to answer my annoying questions. Very chill atmosphere during the day/early evenings. So simple to eat or drink here, you can sit anywhere you like and just order off the QR code. Plenty of clean tables inside and out, very lovely place

Neel and Friends Comedy Night. Great night out. Show was fantastic. No mates Neel had less than the normal amount of friends because they all have spicy cough but nonetheless a great show. The table service is great. Reasonable prices and a good menu. Definitely will go again.

Sweethearts has very friendly and polite staff who worked tirelessly to make this bride’s dream dress a reality. Special shout out to Kristy (the seamstress) who was able to make all alterations so professionally and with a smile on her face the whole time. An amazing job and beautiful dress as a result! Thank you so much Sweethearts! Will definitely recommend!

The hotel's ambiance comes to life after dark. Sitting inside on a wintery evening having a beer you can feel yourself settling in.During the day it just loses that feel. Staff are friendly good beer options that works both day and night.
