Good service, yummy açai bowl (lots of fruit, good granola, just a bit too liquid for me), delicious pastries and coffee. Great way to start the day :)
Came a cross in this cafe in Camperdown and got a chance to try of their special pandan pancakes. Its like a piece of heaven with a hint of sweetness! Just perfect with my cuppa. A must try cafe, they change their specials every week which is something to look forward every week
Love having this place as my local breakfast place as the food is great and I love how they've laid out the dining area. The service is generally fast although not overly friendly, I get the distinct feeling that I'm not cool enough to be there!
Nestled in between building construction sites, this place is a little hidden gem. My beef brisket and apple slaw on a roll with gherkin was top notch. Beautifully flavoured, slow cooked and slightly spicy beef, with a perfect ratio of slaw to meat and apples to cabbage within the slaw itself. And in such a nice bun.
This was one of the board specials. Their breakfast menu seems to be larger and more of their speciality - I tell you what it would be awesome I reckon - I'm coming back for sure.
Great chilled out, industrial feel to the place and friendly service.
Quite a few months later and the construction site is still going on across the road (albeit it being mostly completed rather than a site of construction). I had passed here a few times and took the opportunity to visit for breakfast.
The service is very friendly and paid and ordered at the counter. Number given and table selected (I chose the high shared table, not so good if you need a seat back or don't have good core strength as can get uncomfortable if perched there too long). Went with the Potato Roesti (Slow Roasted Tomato, Poached Eggs, Bacon). The roesti and bacon were nice and crispy. Eggs were only slightly overdone and not as oozing as they could've been. The tomatoes were delicious and nicely roasted. Mocha was not bad.
The Runcible has been a hidden favourite for years!
The food is quick & tasty & really can't fault from any angle👌
Just hope that the excessive residential development close by doesn't hinder the cafe
Can be hard to find but worth the trip.
Great coffee and service!
I've had the pork roll a couple of times and it is perfect. Great egg dishes as well.
Highly recommended for breakfast.

As a loyal fan of Golden Cobra coffee, you’ll find me at this Camperdown café quite regularly, tucking into owner/chef Alex Watts’ famous Thai-style fried eggs. Hearing they’re now opening on Friday nights between 5pm and 10pm, encouraged me to revisit.
The free range chicken salad with green beans, tea soaked raisins, tahini and harissa was the biggest salad I’ve ever had that was not prepared by me. More specifically, the chicken serving was very generous in size, unlike the scarce bits and pieces you get in most restaurants. The dish needed a pinch of salt, but was nice in flavour. Free range chicken salad ($17) The second dish was their (famous?) slow roast pork be
I have fallen in love with Runcible Spoon, a cafe hideaway with a quirky name taken from a whimsical line in Edward Lear's The Owl and the Pussycat ('they dined on mince and slices of quince which they ate with a runcible spoon'). Located down a side street behind Parramatta Road's Deus Cafe, it has a crafy, homespun vibe with plants in repurposed pots, interesting portraits on the walls and a rustic bookcase stocked with jars of spices and food books. The menu is excitingly left of centre, with all-day breakfast offerings including Thai style fried eggs with pork belly, and a fabulous Mexican-style concoction (my meal of choice - pictured) with pureed black beans, avocado, tomato, poached eggs and salsa. The coffee is strong and flavoursome Golden Cobra, and there are some enticing desserts like a popcorn and salted caramel slice. Low-key, friendly and with an ever-changing menu, Runcible Spoon is well worth the quick detour from Newtown. Love!
The Thai Fried Egg add pork belly is quite simply - out of this world! It is bloody delicious, filling, tasty and all the same, not too heavy! Super friendly service and great range of sweet and savoury pastries. The coffee here is also super good - love it!
Delicious Asian fusion breakfasts - very unique! Would recommend the Thai fried eggs and the potato rosti!
Great service and delicious food. The Mediterranean plate is amazingly delicious especially the crispy crunchy falafel🤤.
Strongly recommend it.
Best breakfast, perhaps ever! Was enticed to try the Thai fried eggs based on other reviews and was thrilled I did; it was amazing. Daughter had halloumi stack, incredibly generous serving and also delicious. Our new favourite local cafe, thank you!
Good local cafe! One of my favourite places for coffee - they do oat milk!! Currently they are doing takeaway only (because of covid). I haven't had much food from them but I have tried the Halloumi burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had and really decently priced with a large serve of fries on the side!
Come most mornings for a coffee and they are always super friendly and welcoming. A week or so I decided to give the lunch a go, specifically the beef Burger. It's so good always cooked perfectly, they also make some special sauce that tasts absolutely amazing, it's got a very unique flavor I haven't tasted anywhere before. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area.
