Underwood Lane Cafe stands head & shoulders above any other cafe in the CBD that I experienced during my visit to the harbour city. The chef himself came over and took our order which is almost unheard of. I opted for the Egg & Bacon Panino burger which was superb. Overall you’d do well to make Underwood Lane your go to when next in Rome

First time checking out this cafe for a coffee hit and was pleasantly surprised how nice the coffee was. Cappuccino ($4.50) using The Wood Roaster coffee was a bit on the pricey side but had lots of froth and a decent strength of pleasant bold flavour til the end of the cup. I'm hoping a takeaway would be cheaper to compete with the usual $3.50 price mark around the CBD. Plenty of seating inside and some outside. Service was generally friendly and provided a glass of water promptly when dining in. Not quite sure about the industrial looking ceiling as an exposed feature but each to their own. The Bacon & Egg with a large coffee for $9 might have to be my next visit.
