Great selection of burgers, value for money & quick service. Had the veggie burger with lemon zested yoghurt slaw & pesto halloumi (looks nothing like the photo on foodora) but was very tasty
& friend had the beef burger, was happy with just a burger with cheese, relish, mayo & pickles just a little bit fancier. They are not big burgers, just the right size for us with chips, so guys you might want to try one of the burgers under 'Special Burgers'. Next time I'll be getting a burger in a bowl for something different. Burger Barrel has a fantastic back story, read all about BB on their menu while eaiting for your meal. Burger Barrel is another restaurant that has recently opened up on Coogee Bay Road. We decided to check it out after walking past a few times. It was quite pleasant with a good selection of burgers at very reasonable prices. The simple burgers are quite cheap at only $10, also look out for specials nights where the deals may be even better.
We tried the Biggie Smalls burger which is a bit more on the pricier side but worth it. At $18 dollars you not only get one full size double beef burger but a smaller version on top of the big one. Clever name and a not too shabby burger either. It was quite tasty and came with a side of chips too, the portion was a lot for one person.
It was 35degrees so we hit up coogee...For burgers lol. Had never been but this place has great ethics and decent burgers with quality sides beer list. I did the burger challenge and got pb&j shake, missus got Wang's and loaded waffle fries. Was good. Burger patties could be a bit fattier, and I'd prefer hi melt American but the buns were good. Sides were amazing and the shake too.
Burger Barrel was just a treat! The staff were friendly and the venue had a nice selection of options for burgers and sides to pick. A little pricey but it was nice and tasty. The service was also quick. I would definitely come back and try some more of their other burgers.

Beautiful 'beef burger' at Burger Barrel today. My burger was on a fresh brioche bun, juicy meat patty, cheddar cheese, pickles and sauce. Overall 7/10.
Funky set up. Some nice beers. $10 burgers. Good music. Liked the burger...nice pickles n sauce n bun...pattie was a tad dry but overall a good burger...I'll be back .
Exciting to have this new American style burger joint here in good ol coogee.
Chic interior, appetizing menu that excites the senses and imagination by using fusion-words like 'baconaisse' and 'hashchip'.
Fast service, tasty well sauced burgers and a killer street-watching view. Love the chipotle hot sauce.
Feedback -
1. Availability of coffee and drinking coconuts could make this place a huge brekkie burger destination.
2. Burger patties should be done rare (true gormet American style) unless asked otherwise. (Like burger project)
3. Sweet potato wedges should have a more flavoursome sauce to dip into / like a tomato aioli or avocado concoction.
I look forward to coming back to try all the burger flavours.
Very unique burger place. Staff is kind and efficient. They have gluten-free bun options available! Can be dairy-free if you choose to take off or pick a sandwich that doesn’t include dairy. I absolutely love the grilled barramundi sandwich! It’s unique because the burger is dressed with a quinoa “salad” and avocado “dressing”
Really can't say no to the juicy chicken wings and the tbt music. Service was really good. Strongly recommend coming in on Monday for 50c wings. The brown sugar BBQ sauce is something that you can't resist. Would be nice if the buns were a bit more crunchy and thick.
I ate a classic Coogee Burger - meat, cheese and salad - with chips. It was good and tasteful. The service is good and nice. That's a great place to eat when you are on Coogee and region.
This place is set up like an American burger joint. They even have all the American sauces and mustards available. The burgers taste ok but lack something.
