Went here with my friend after working for dinner and drinking. I had a Jug, XXXX beer and only costs $7.50. So reasonable. And if you get a meal for $8.90 with any drink! Good deal. We ordered Chicken schnitzel and the taste was average but
still like this Pub. Good anbience!
Top spot. Great staff. Lovely food. Will be back for sure. Lots of fun. Down stairs needs a bit of a revamp though. Bar Tenders are very professional and great to have a chat with.
Great dingy Irish pub. Not for the faint hearted. Only came in for drinks and had a great time with my mates and the bikini waitresses on the Friday night.
Been here a few times for casual drinks with my friends. Nothing to flaunt about in terms of the decor. However the overall experience has always been really good. Very well priced specials with generous serving portions. The chicken parmigiana and steak there are delicious! Friendly staff with quick service is certainly a plus
The Scruffy Murphys is a no frills Irish pub in heart of Sydney, that prides at serving $6 pints of the Guinness Extra Stout on tap! We have several Irish pubs in Melbourne CBD, but none which offers a deal anything close to Scruffy Murphy’s and for this reason alone I was impressed with this Sydney pub. Scruffy Murphys has a few different bars and the one we sat in was upstairs adjoining the bistro.
We spent an hour and half talking loudly, still barely audible, over the blaring pub music and voices of other patrons. The atmosphere was all the more lively given Australia Day and there were several large groups of friends cheering and waving Australian flags as they thumped down their beer mugs.
I really love the steak here
having rare steak twice or three times every week
Meals are very generous. Very cheap with mains under $15. Beautiful hearty good old fashioned pub grub.
I went to Scruffys in need of some good pub grub, and that's exactly what I got. I had a parmagiana the size of a dinner plate with chips and salad under it for about $11.50, the guinness pie was well received and the 6.95 steak and chips was great, as was the massive ceasar salad for about $6.95... Yes the decor was a little rough, but the food tasted good, and was at a good price. What you'd expect from a place like this. I will definitely be making this a regular haunt when the homestyle cooking craving comes along.
A welcoming, warm pub with great low priced dinner specials. Nothing fancy, but well worth a look.
Ended up coming here after ATTEMPTING to get into Worlds Square Pub (what a disorganized joke that is), we ordered a few beers & two chicken parmigianas, they came out in about 10 minutes & they were so fresh & yummy. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, crispy salad & hot fresh chips on the side. For $35 it was pretty damn good!
