Chinese restaurant that made efforts to the ambience to fit into surrounding wharf area with modern feels. Food quality was decent whilst not going above any expectation. Wait staff seemed to speak minimal English as they could not understand much other than the name of each dish. Had great view looking over King Street Wharf and the waters. We were sitting in the balcony on second floor and soon after food arrived, couple of sea gulls flew in and looked like they were about to dive into our food. This caused bit of unnecessary anxiety which I would rather not have during a meal. We were there with 50% off deal by Dimmi and had no sour experience that other reviewers state here at all. Everything we wanted was available, serving potion was generous, and enjoyed the value. Settling the bill with discount was no fuss. Having said that, the normal price of the menu felt too dear if we didn't have a discount, especially when the food tasted not a great deal better than any other Chinese restaurant.

We love great Chinese food. This place makes ordinary Chinese food a little bit fancy. Modern fusion Chinese food. Its interesting and tasty. Set on king St wharf, the restaurant entrance is on lime Street. The place has a view you wouldn’t believe. There’s tables in private caves, tables on the balcony, tables downstairs, via the King St wharf ground level entrance and tables outside at the wharf entrance. Inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs, private, tables to suit everyone. The menu is complete with dim sims, rice, noodles, seafood, meats, soup, desserts. We order what the waiter recommends. And let us tell you, it was delicious! Fav dish of the night were the Poached prawn wonton served in a szechuan style red spicy sauce. We were way to full for dessert. Will have to return to try the fried ice cream!

Hulu at King Street Wharf is definitely not your everyday Chinese Restaurant. First of all, the ambience and the decor are impressive. They really pay attention to the details. From the furniture, lighting to the dinnerware, everything is beautiful! With two-level dining areas, this restaurant is suitable for having a large group of people dining together. We started with Hulu Mix Appetizers. Consist of 4 small cold condiments, everything was yum! We then continued with Pan Fried Mushrooms Dumplings and Crispy Cheese & Prawn Dumplings. Both dumplings were tasty but I especially loved the Cheese Dumplings. Distinctively delicious! Next was the The Sweet and Sour Pork on ICE. Yup, you heard it right. On ICE, baby! At first I was reluctant to try ‘cause I thought it’s gonna be super cold and weird. But after I tasted it.. yum! Surprisingly the meat was not too cold. Still warm on the inside and very crispy on the outside. If I had to pick one thing, probably the percentage between the meat and the ice. I wanted more meat :) The other dishes that I also enjoyed: Tea Smoked Duck and King Prawn with Champagne and Fruit Dressing. The highlight for me was the Homemade Tofu and Mushrooms, fried with eggwhite sauce. The tofu was really smooth and silky. It’s my ‘dish of the day’! If you come here, you have to try the Nemo Dumplings. This dish will wow you! Well, it might be difficult to bite into it tho, ‘cause they’re almost too cute to eat! For the drinks we had Green Garden and Amazing Dream. So refreshing without being overly sweet. Last but not least, the desserts! Their Deep Fried Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup was superb! I loved the little bit of theatre when the chocolate syrup was poured over the dome. Seeing how the dome melted was really fun. And of course, tasting it was even better. Top notch dessert! I also loved the Sago Dessert, Melon and Coconut Milk. Very refreshing and unique. Overall, I had an amazing dining experience here. Highly recommend!

Abosultely loved the food and the hospitality. We arrived a bit early for dinner around 5.30pm and were searching a place to eat and got refused entrance at most of the other places on the wharf side suggesting dinner service begins only at 6pm. That was a bit ridiculous..Atleast let the customers in and get them seated. The staff at Hulu were welcoming and it felt nice. The decor is well done and the food has a good has a good mix of traditional and modern dishes. It does fall in the fine dine category so the prices are on the higher side but you won't regret paying the bucks for the good food that is served !!

We had a great experience at Hulu Dining and its a welcome addition to King Street Wharf. Traditional Chinese dishes take on refined, sophisticated flavours that absolutely must be shared. Make sure you absolutely leave room for the signature Deep Fried Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup, as much for the 'theatre' of the presentation as for the incredible taste!

If you’re after twinkly views of Darling Harbour and a modern whirl on Chinese food, you’ve come to the right place. With a sophisticated, swanky and modern vibe, this 200-seater lunch-dinner restaurant feels right at home in the Sydney waterfront restaurant precinct that is King Street Wharf. An offshoot of the Crows Nest restaurant Bistro Hulu, Hulu at King Street Wharf opened in early 2018 and is fast winning fans, putting a new spin on old favourites. There’s a hint of French, a splash of Japanese and just the right amount of quirk. And like most Chinese restaurants, the extent of the menu will blow your mind. There’s over 80 choices - the highlight is the deep fried ice cream!
