Amazing flavour and good portion
Sichuan noodle restaurant in the world square complex which I didn't actually find that spicy. It was more the Sichuan pepper spice that gives the numbing effect. My favourite dishes were:
🔹️Chongqing Spicy Noodle with beef- heavily spiced with beef so tender
🔹️ Spicy and Sour Wontons- plump juicy wontons bathing in a delicious broth of chilli and vinegar
🔹️ Stewed Pork Belly Noodles- a mild dish but a welcome relief from all the spice with melt in your mouth, gelatinous pork belly and noodles for days
🔹️ Fried Crispy Chicken Balls- strangely served with tomato sauce, I didn't go for this but they were great on their own
🔹️ Pigs Ears with Chilli Oil- I was keen to try this because I'd only ever had them fried crispy, but they were beautiful. If you can get over the whole 'ear' thing.
🔹️ Pan Fried Dumpling with Pork and Chinese Chive- your classic pot sticker, what's not to like?!
We ordered the noodles with wontons, the lamb noodles and spring rolls. The spring rolls were yum but probably unnecessary because the noodle bowls were huge! I got flat noodles in the lamb bowl which I prefer to the thinner egg noodles, but both were tasty. They definitely had that Sichuan spice flavour, but weren’t 100% Sichuan I’d say, as they still had a traditional spice aspect. The service was also great and food came very quickly. Overall, I’d definitely return for the flat noodles :)
Enjoyed this noodle feast recently where we were treated to a variety of Sichuan Chinese noodles. A range of spicy and non-spicy dishes, various noodle dishes, dumplings, wontons and finishing off the meal with some traditional desserts.

My fave dishes of the evening were:
🍜Chongqing spicy noodles with beef.
🌶Spicy and sour potato noodles with pork.
🥟Pan fried dumplings.
🎃 Pumpkin cake (dessert).
Note: I dined as a guest of the venue. All views expressed are my own.
Great place at Worlds Square. The atmosphere inside is so authentic, that it almost feels like being in restaurant in China. Yummy dishes on offer and so much to choose from. If you like spicy this is your place. Any noodles is great option, also fried dumplings and popcorn chicken. For dessert go for Fruit Jelly, very light to finish your meal with. Recommend! I dined here on a Tuesday night as part of a foodie event (Thanks to FCBA for organising).
We had a great girls night out eating a variety of noodles both spicy, non spicy, wet and dry. We also had a selection of dumplings and starters from the menu. Some of my favourite savoury dishes from the night were:
- stewed pork belly noodles (non spicy) - pork belly was so tender and fell apart as you ate it. The broth accompanying it was flavoursome. It was a generous portion but could easily polish off a bowl on my own
- Chongqing spicy noodles with beef and pork - these had great flavour but are not for those who don't love spice. Again, generous portion and plenty of meat as well.
- Pan fried dumplings - crispy outside and juicy inside
- Wontons and mushroom in chicken soup - always a good staple dish when it's done well and this one was. Generous serving and wontons held their shape well in the broth.
We also tasted some of the desserts. My favourite was the glutinous rice cakes. Super sweet with a crunchy outside and soft inside. The other desserts we had were not really my thing (jelly, pumpkin and red bean cakes and glutinous rice in sugar syrup)
Overall, I liked my experience at Dainty. I would definitely go back for the noodles because they are tasty and you get a generous portion for a very reasonable price for the Sydney CBD (~$14 a bowl).
Oodles of noodles! Really enjoyed the food here at Dainty Sichuan with a great selection of spicy and non-spicy dry or wet noodles. My favourite was the stewed pork belly noodles - rich flavour and chunky pieces of juicy pork belly. Desserts were nice but I wouldn’t say that any of them wow’d me. Lemon and lychee was bubbly and refreshing and paired well with the hot dishes. Overall, a great night but there were some issues with staff missing part of our order.

My thanks to Dainty Sichuan and FCBA for the invite.
Went there for a quick noodle fix. Their mushroom broth is a must-try!!! It looked very bland but was full of flavour. Glutinous rice cakes with brown sugar syrup were pretty yummy too.
A great place for noodles! Noodle feast! And especially if you love spicy food, this place is the place to go to! Order a bowl of noodles with a side dish such as dumplings!!! It goes well together!!
Dainty Sichuan has finally arrived in Sydney (and we thankfully don’t have to trek to Melbourne anymore) and owners Tina Li and Ye Shao have hired chefs from China so that we in Sydney can have the authentic experience.
If you love spicy Chinese food, you are going to love Dainty Sichuan. The ‘go to’ dishes are definitely the spicy noodle dishes which are perfect for a cold winter’s night and you can adjust the level of heat intensity to cater for your own taste. Not everything on the menu is spicy, however. The wontons and mushrooms in chicken soup (pictured) is one example as is the fried chicken schnitzel (pictured).
We finished our meal with the pumpkin cakes and the glutinous rice cakes (pictured) and both were lovely, comforting and not too sweet.
The quality of the food is top notch as is the service. I cannot wait to go back.
Please note we ate as guests of Dainty Sichuan. #daintysichuan
Delicious place with quick service and very spicy food. The potato noodles (酸辣粉)are towards the authentic end of the spectrum and the dry noodles (served with minced meat and chickpeas) were nice and firm.
Mouth numbing and lip tingling, but totally worth it.
Authentic Sichuan cuisine. Could be very spicy to some. Delicious food if you can take the heat. Non spicy food are nice too. Visited a couple of times and would come back. Conveniently located in the middle of the city and many specialty shops around.
Love their pork knuckles a lot and it never fails to satisfy me.
Had the lamb for the first time and it’s not really nice as expected though it was not tender but hard to chew too. The rice set looks like canteen style not really that appealing.
Table water is self serve at the side of entrance. Not really table service but order and pay with the cashier. Maybe a lot of customers ran away without paying the bill after eating.
Everything is about spicy and if you don’t have a strong tummy, don’t even think of eating here.
I had the beef noodle soup. Actually, I was expecting to have fried chicken noodles that time but it was not available :(
It wasn't bad after all which is great!
For the drinks, I had the wintermelon drink which is highly recommended. For desserts, I tried their fried rice cake and I loved it!!!
You can have a great deal via groupon. Noodle dish and a drink for only about $9.99

5 stars for the bowls of noodles. So flavorful and tasty!! 3 star for the service. Maybe her face might crack if she smiles. But definitely go there for the noodles, you won't regret it!
Dined here for dinner, got a chicken noodle dish, pork dumplings and plum juice ķ The food came out quick, there is some seating available. They were quite hygienic with hand sanitizer. Centrally located with low to moderate seating, a reasonably priced meal with a good menu.
