Delicious Friday night dinner with friends. We opted for the $55 set menu/banquet, it did not disappoint.
Prawn dumplings, lamb spring rolls (Devine), crab egg while omelette, which all agreed sounded s but unusual, but it was delicious, fluffy and almost melt in the mouth!
The we had white fish (think was Rafa), fried rice, Asian greens, crispy beef (this was the stand out), kung po chicken and dessert selection.
The sago/tapioca is served cold, would be better hot.
One downside, drinks are very expensive.
Overall good service, not rushed with dishes or to finish up and leave, defo be back!

An unexpected delight. Long weekend staying in Potts Point. Fei Jai was just around the corner and online reviews were v good (intrigued by Egg White Omelette with Crab [EWOC]), so why not? Outside under heater was cozy and service was pleasant and attentive. Negroni Week, and their version (the Chinegroni) with apricot and chai was delightful. The EWOC was fantastic, one of our best dishes this year, followed by dumplings and San choi bao, top notch casual diningđź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Seeing reviews here saying this is the best Chinese restaurant....I finally decided to venture here and see if it  lived up to the hype of some reviews. We had a 6am booking for 2, we arrived early and were the first people. Tables were a little small, as we tend to order a lot when in an Asian restaurant, but they brought the dishes out in a good order (used to everything at once. Small but well thought out wine list. We had the Albarino which went very well with the meal. We had the scallop and prawn dumplings and the daily dumplings (chicken and corn) and the egg white omelette with blue swimmer crab (it took a little while to realise it was crab - very subtle and delicate - well worth trying) and the ground pepper was a well balanced seasoning. The dumplings were great - flavoursome and you could taste the various main ingredients. The tofu with sugar snap, pumpkin and zucchini hit the spot - it is among the best tofu I have ever had (I always order a tofu dish to see how such a simple ingredient can be presented). The Crispy beef stripes was also among some of the best I have ever had - tender beef, not tough and hard and we hat the fat boy chicken (one of the specials of the day) - it was in a friend spicy batter. It looked and average -it was AMAZING - full of flavour (often chicken has little or no flavour and relies on seasoning/sauces), it tasted like chicken, it was moist, tender, it was AMAZING. There was a typo on the menu - 'spatchcock' - it is a technique (not an ingredient)that means it has had the spine removed etc - it should have been referred to as 'spatchedcock.'Remember that this area of Sydney has some of the highest per square meter population density and this restaurant caters to that market - people with small kitchens who don't want to cook - and I think this works very well with the market it is targeting.Certainly among the better Chinese meal that I have had and well worth it. And I do agree with some of the other reviews that the staff are a little in your face - but better than not being there at all.

We visited in January 2015 so this review is a little delayed. Fabulous restaurant in a convenient location. Food is really really good- authentic but with a modern twist. Great street seating ( and no smokers- yay!) and friendly , casual service ( waitress recommended some really tasty dishes ) . Fun, casual vibe. Will return.

Fei Jai - which means Fatboy in Cantonese - specialises in light fresh and tasty Cantonese food. This isn't a large restaurant - in fact it's quite small - only seating forty people. They even do yum cha. The whole place has a great feel to it. Dark timber and comfortable seating makes you want to settle in, sit back and enjoy the food and drinks. We started with their very nice scallop and prawn dumplings. These were so light and tasty - they melted in our mouths. In fact the were almost fluffy they were that delicate. We were extremely impressed with them and even though four was a good serving we could have eaten more as they tasted

I was talking to a friend about Fei Jai recently and he too agreed that this restaurant was the type of place ABCs (Australian-born Chinese) would go to, but probably not take their parents. I guess it is knowing how they'd react when they find out how much you paid for such a meal. Well, that's part of the whole appeal to me. Dining at Fei Jai feels like a secret indulgence... in refined home cooking. Yes, note the emphasis on the word 'refined'. I've been fed a lot of traditional Cantonese food over the years, and while there are days when I crave that, the food at Fei Jai fills in the other gaps. The flavours are familiar and quaint, but the modern approach makes the dining experience so much more exciting. It's more of a treat than an ordinary Chinese meal. Fresh chopped chilli with soy sauce, and Pun Chun chilli sauce are must-have condiments. I like that these are already at the table. The complimentary bowl of prawn

This was a great Dine In experience, the service was impeccable and friendly the food delicious... I highly recommend the fish with black bean sauce (as seen in the picture with Broccoli). Parking in Potts Point is challenging so be prepared to walk and book ahead as this place can get busy.
