The Eight

It is a very big restaurant within a shopping complex, and I am very impressed with the management, the waiting staff that serves us, and last but not least the food.
I come for a wedding banquet. Trying to get to the restaurant is a great challenge if you drive around the area. Basement parking is available, and parking fee is waived after 6 pm if the ticket is stamped by the restaurant.
Although I am not involved with the reception preparation, I was informed that the management took every effort to accommodate the customers' requests, seeing that the venue setting, colour coordination, and menu are in perfect order.
The waiting staff is friendly and attentive. Clean bowls are supplied after each course, and I jokingly say that what a trouble we created for the kitchen staff, and she replies that it helps to keep her emploed!
The quantity of food is excellent. It suits diners who prefer less salt (although I do not belong to that category). There are great variety of sauces for the different dishes.
As a chicken (eating) lover, I find the crispy chicken is a bit of a let down.
After all the thumbs-up, I have to say my piece of negatives. The restaurant is packed to the rim, and obviously many people use the toilets. They do need attention to keep the floor dry and free from used paper.
PS I have no financial interest nor receive financial benefit from the restaurant.
Seriously one of the best Chinese Restaurant in Sydney CBD! Delicious food, high quality fresh seafood and great space! Great restaurant for gatherings with friends and families. Staffs are all friendly and attentive. Simon Sin usually looks after us, he is always so professional and has great memory :)
We had good CNY lunch from here.
If you like prawn and dumpling, this is the place.
Wanna try more deep fried dumplings next time, because when we arrived they were simply sold out.
One of the best Yum Cha spots in Sydney hands down. Every dish was delicious, would highly recommend the scallop dim sum and the pork ribs. Absolutely amazing and would come back
One of the best yum cha but pricey.
Don't listen to the bad reviews. All the dishes are great. The service is great, the ladies with thr carts are so friendly. A lot of dishes to choose from too.
The only thing lacking was the other service like tea refills.
Authentic, but expensive, as they come. As with any dim-sum place, carts roll by with a wide variety of choices and The Eight was no different. The food was warm, fresh and plentiful.
Make sure you arrive on the earlier side (11:00'ish), by the time we left, there was a huge line out and around the entrance.
As much as we enjoyed the dim-sum it was by far the most expensive we have ever had and we have eaten it around the world. The dishes were priced in such a way that we were unable to figure out what cost what?
Ps: The Eight is actually located INSIDE Marker City on the third floor.
