Those Who Love To Eat
+3.5
I've walked past time restaurant many times over, and this time, seemed like the right time to walk in and try the food. Now was the time to do so! When you first walk in, you cannot help but notice the glaringly bright magenta valour seats that takes your breath away for its brightness. I'm not sure what statement it was trying to make but heck! It looked so out of place.
The service was prompt and attentive. They weren't waiting on you hand and feet kind of style, but attentive enough that there was always a wait staff around when we wanted to order extra food.
The patrons of this establishment were mainly older Asian citizens which has to say alot for the kind of food that they serve. We decided to try their dumplings because that was what we set out to eat after all. The choices were limited and the wait time a little longer than usual. Around a 15 min wait, which was ok I guess. We ordered loads and forgot to take pics of the food but did manage to remember towards the end. The portion sizes we decent and we ordered several dishes. I think around 6-8 dishes and took one as a doggy bag as we ordered too much. This place is a value for money kind of place if you can over look the decor. For two, it will set you back around $50 which is relatively cheap for a yum cha style dumpling place.
If you're hungry and have a friend to share some good dumplings with, this place is a good place to try.
Late post: I forgot what this restaurant was called until I discovered a post from another reviewer & recognised the restaurant from the pictures.
I have been here at least twice and ordered a few dishes the first time which ended up very similar and deep fried but that was our fault, having said that the dishes ordered were nice.
The other time we went here it took a while for the food to come out which was weird since the place was quite empty & food the last time came out in no time.
They also do lunch time specials for from memory around $10.
Service was ok both times.
We celebrated a birthday there with special Wagyu beef hotpot order (book at least 1 day in advance). I loved the special fish/tofu soup side to cook fresh coral trout fillets. I think what we've ordered might actually not be in their menu but I loved the simplicity of the seafood/meat options and their special sauce that unlike normal hotpot that might over power the good quality ingredients we've ordered. Not cheap bill after this but a great meal over all for a special day. This is a hidden little gem in my opinion. Also want to mention the service is very good: bosses and waitress etc are very friendly.
This is a pricey restaurant, particularly in an area full of excellent, cheaper options. What you do get here though is a nice ambience, very friendly and helpful staff and absolutely delicious food.
If you like the Chinese restaurant standards done well and have some cash to burn, give it a look.
Great food and service.
Love it. Will come back again!
Most of the dishes we ordered tasted good: spicy and sour soup, stir fried string beans, salted egg prawns, salted fish fried rice. Only the salt and pepper fried squid can be better with more freshness and seasoning. Service is quite decent for a Chinese restaurant, even with an order that was missed, our attendant was quite attentive and keen to follow up and update on our order.
Great value food. So far I enjoyed every dishes I ordered. Staff and manager/owner is caring and happy to receive feedback.
Special discount for students is available!

Authentic Chinese food for relatively reasonable price. Staff are friendly and lovely. Menu is genuinely quite Chinese if you're willing to order the more interesting dishes.
They offer cheap and quality lunches too.
Would definitely recommend.
