Jackalberry is located on the ground floor of the Hyatt Regency on Sussex Street in the Sydney CBD. Set in a heritage building space, it’s nice to see they’ve kept the façade with a nod to Sydney’s historic past. Whilst the Hyatt already has a few bars, including one of our favourites, Zephr, they have opened this new bar, with street frontage to appeal to bar trotters and those in search of good cocktail or two. We must add that this bar serves up what we currently regard as the best cocktails in Sydney and we’re sure this will become the bar on everyone’s lips in no time. They were even recently awarded Sydney’s best new bar at the Hotel awards.
Last night was a discovery of cocktails, cuisines, and countries.
Jackalberry located on the ground floor of the Hyatt has only been open for 3 months and it’s no doubt going to become a Sydney favorite.
They celebrate 14 tasty dishes from around the world which are also complemented by 8 carefully crafted cocktails (by Remy) from different parts of the globe.
🏆 My favorites of the night:
Dishes:
sliced butler steak with chimichurri
Tete De Moine with honeycomb
Fresh Burrata on garlic toast
Stuffed pumpkin flowers
Cocktails:
Wormwood
The Zorba
6 sprit Old Fashioned
Lucullus
Pro tip:
Ask Remy for some of his off the menu cocktails. We had a Lemon meringue pie, a 6 spirit Old Fashioned and a Crème Brulee cocktail that were all insane!
The food was really good and the staff really attentive and did everything for us to have the best experience. The service was really nice. The atmosphere was cosy with a light music so we could easily chat without screaming.
Cocktails were standard in terms of taste. I really recommend the place for a romantic dienr or with friends.
Just popped down for cocktails & dessert. Super friendly & welcoming staff, especially the lady in white who we assume was the manager. Went above and beyond to check for gluten free options & made sure we had everything we wanted. Every hospitality venue needs a manager like her!
The staff were great! The food was okay, not something I’m dying to come back to. Definitely more just a place to have a few expensive cocktails and nibble, not dinner.
Loved my experience tonight! Waiters were super lovely and provided the best service, drinks were fantastic and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is also very lively. Definitely try the tiramisu martini and braised beef gnocchi here :))
Such yummy food! Easy access to darling harbour. Meals are fairly priced and well presented. Food was served extremely fast.
Our waitress seemed a little confused with when to order our entrees and mains.. I felt we struggled to chat amongst ourselves before she would come and stress to us about not having a beer type or not being sure on something. Apart from that the other staff were fantastic
