It’s in the middle of winter and I’m freezing my butt off! And at the same time, I’m also craving for kimchi! So I decided to order Kimchi soup with rice and eggs! And omg!!!! It was the best thing I had ordered yet! It made me all warm up and the best part is the flavouring of the soup base!!!! Though, I have to say it satisfied my kimchi cravings to 100%!!!!!! I could literally go for another bowl, but I had to control myself hahaha!

You can experience authentic korean  ‘home food’ here. The ddeokbokki tastes just like my mum’s and they always greet me with a big smile. Everyone please try their ddeokbokki and get gimbap and dunk it in the sauce. 👌🏼

Not a bad place to go for a quick, cheap and convenient lunch. I ordered the bimbibap with egg (for some reason I was given two). I also ordered the kimbap sushi which was nice. Only $15 in total.

Cute hole in the wall Korean Kitchen in Spice Alley.
Being Korean myself I was sceptical to how the food would taste but all the dishes I've tried to date did not disappoint!
All the staff working there are Korean and the flavours are definitely authentic! The staff are super friendly, prices are very cheap and I've only ever waited up to 10mins.
The portion sizes aren't ginormous which works well for me because I love a good variety of things to eat.
I recommend ordering 4-5 dishes between 2 people to share
Best Mains: Kimchi fried rice with pork (the egg on top is a good combo), beef bibimbap, kimchi soup (only mildy spicy)
Best Small dishes: vegetable (or seafood) pancake, fried dumplings

I don’t know why the rate is so low, this place is cheap and the food is full of Korea flavour, love it!

Ordered a bimimbap via uber eats and it did not disappoint. The fried vegetables were a Bit average and oily hence the 3.5 stars. I would definately order the bimimbap again. Good place to get takeaway Korean... Not many nearby!

While the flashier Kensington Street residents like Kensington Street Social and Automata attract most of the attention, there's something to be said for sneaking into Spice Alley for a fast, no-frills feed. After getting liquored up at a wine tasting at Handpicked Wines, I ducked through the well-lit galley that is Koa Kitchen to enjoy an al fresco meal under the bobbing red lanterns. While you can move between the Spice Alley eateries, assembling yourself a multinational feast, we chose to have an all-Korean meal from Koa Kitchen. All the close-by competition means they’ve kept prices on their short, picture-based menu keen; and with the clever addition of half-size portions, even a solo diner can assemble a multi-dish meal for around twenty bucks.Craving a fast hit of something tasty, we started with some hot and spicy Korean Fried Chicken ($11.90/large) asking them for extra chilli by way of a hyped-up gochujang application. I'm also currently a bit obsessed with Ddeokbokki ($4.90/small) – it’s a popular Korean chewy rice cake that’s served...

Great authentic Korean food. I loved the Kim chi soup and the fried dumplings were amazing.
Extremely friendly service by smiling Korean crew.
Would definitely come here again and the area is fantastic as you can try other dishes within 'Spice Alley'

Tasty Korean food with such quick preparation. The lady at the counter was really helpful and polite while explaining veg options. Kimchi fried rice and pancakes had a very good flavour and so cheap. Will visit this place more often as it is a very good option when you are at spice alley.

DELICIOUS! I have been buying the wagyu strip loin dish $15.90 (there is a credit card surcharge if you spend less than $10), for the past year and it’s almost always been consistent and very tasty! I’ve only had 1 bad dish where the quality of the beef was sub-standard. What I love is for most of the time 9/10 the wagyu beef is so soft and juicy! Great portion of protein to rice to salad, pickled veggies and sauces. What they could improve on is probably add more rice? Or for that price include miso soup with the dish. Other than that, please note KOA Kitchen doesn’t except AMEX; only Visa and MasterCard when paying. They offer tap and go, they also accept cash payment and have COVID safe check in and are super quick! (5 mins, max 10 mins when they are super busy). Highly recommend it! Try it and you’ll love it! The owner is a very friendly man, who is extremely hard working.

Best customer service I’ve ever experienced. We ordered around 9:30pm and left for a while. Around 10:15pm we returned, the store closed but the staff is still waiting there for us. Friendly staff even give us some free delicious dumplings. Will always be your customers.
