This Chinese restaurant has a huge menu and selection of dishes to choose from. We ordered a bunch of different dumplings, xiao long bao, buns and vegetables. All the dishes were made hot and fresh and filled with flavour.

First time here and the first thing I noticed was the fragrant wafting smell of grease and cumin lamb. Ordered: hand pulled noodles (veggie) ($12), cumin lamb (3 for $5) and pork and chive pan-fried dumplings ($10). Each dish was made with the same no-nonsense flair. You get what you pay for and it’s cheap, filling and greasy Chinese food.

Great place to grab some hand made noodles, the noodles are tasty and fresh. It has a balance of salty and savoury compliment with the vegetables and beef. Service is good, staff was friendly and she gave me tea without me asking for it. The dumplings was a bit of a disappointment because it lacks flavour but the serving is pretty good. I think it needs to be more presentation and a bit more flavour. I enjoyed eating there overall and would recommend for dinner.

Fast, tasty and cheap! If you want to get your fix of dumplings then this is your place to go.
Apart from the dumplings (pork and chive the best) the eggplant was delicious 😋 we had a total of 7 of us and the bill was barely over $100. Also its BYO for those looking to booze up $2 a pop.

A last minute urge to have some soupy dumplings landed us at this popular Chinatown joint. The place is quite busy during lunch and dinner time, although there is hardly any wait for the tables.
I ordered the spicy hot and sour pork & chive soupy dumplings as we were advised this was the most spicy soupy dumplings available. After the order was taken, we were served some hot Jasmine tea with a tea pot which was quite a unique experience. Firstly, the portion is enormous and can be easily eaten by two if they plan to order more than one dish. Also, being very hot the dish felt more spicy than it originally was. The dumplings were really good and would love to try the steamed ones next time round.

Huge portions, tasty overall. Pan-fried dumplings were oily but had a decent amount of porky flavour. Very authentic Chinese noodle restaurant and service is very fast. Be sure to under order as we can guarantee you will be filled to the brim!

Alas I was meeting some new friends and a bit too shy to take all my food photos. But this place was cheap and cheerful! I will definitely be back for more.
Best things about this place are the dumplings. They were fat, full of flavour, hot and prompt! You can dunk them in your own sauce creation from the table condiments of hot chilli, vinegar and soy sauce etc. We tried a half serve of steamed and a half serve of fried dumplings. Traditional pork came out within 60 seconds as I imagine they are ordered so frequently they are just ready to go.
Lamb and celery dumplings took a bit longer but they were also piping hot and juicy.
Be careful not to burn yourself!
We also tried the beef pancake. Oily but delicious.
The eggplant dish was melty and spicy and hot.
Finally the hot sour sweet pork was definitely something I’ve never tried before. Definitely a significantly better flavour than the usual sweet and sour pork you can get in westernised Asian restaurants.
Service was okay generally and it was a very cramped but bustling night. Prices were also very fair so I’ll be back to try some other dumplings 🥟

This rating is honestly just for the wonderful food - because I think if you want great dumplings you won't really mind the simple and basic restaurant at all. Chinatown Noodle Restaurant is one of my FAVOURITE dumpling places in Sydney, and I love the range of their offerings. They are cheap and really delicious. They have classic pork and chive, as well as lamb and onion (another great pan-fried option), chicken, and even braised eggplant. You can also get egg and cabbage for another vegetarian option. Service here is very very quick, with our noodles always only taking a couple of minutes. If the restaurant is very busy, naturally it will take longer, but never longer than 10 minutes. I recommend the pan fried braised eggplant dumplings, and lamb and onion dumplings, while the boiled/steamed or pan fried varieties for all the other combinations are just as delicious. The soupy pork buns are also delicious! The decor itself is very basic, just tables and chairs all set up, and you will often see fresh vegetables in boxes around the place, but I actually like the fact I can see the ingredients :P Trust me and try out the delicious dumplings here :)

Looks like a very down to earth place, no deco, just tables and chairs back to back with greasy menus :P

We ordered stir fry hand made noodles, panfry pork dumplings and pan fry lamb dumplings.

We got spring rolls but you all can skip that. Hand made noodles were chewy and thick, but the stir fry was very salty.

The dumplings were pretty good. Love the pork one more. It was soupy and crispy. Also super cheap! Food came really quickly. Love it!

A true hole in the wall type restaurant. The hand pulled noodles made right in front of you is amazing. I had them in a clean and pure tasting red beef braised noodle soup which the noodles soaked up all the flavour so that every bite was jam packed with beefy flavour. An absolute must try is the pork pancake, it's like a dumpling and pizza all wrapped into one From my first bite I was absolutely blow away. Extremely hidden little restaurant near Chinatown. This place is one of the best dumpling and noodle restaurants I have ever had. Those who know, know this place. Always very packed and busy and very much worth the wait

Had wonton noodle soup, 6 x pork dumplings and meat in a toasted bun. Quick service. The noodles, wontons and dumplings had a wonderful chewy texture and lovely flavour. A popular place to eat. My wife and I ate for a cost of $25.00 ( and change) plus card surcharge taking the total price to $26.19. TBH i think the surcharge is too high. I didn't see the surcharge advertised. My calculation is that the surcharge is around 2%. Up to you if you think it's too high. Back to the food. Good food. Fast service. Next day:. Our children came and ate with us. Again the food is really good. Worth it.

This is one of the best noodle and dumpling bars in Sydney… a classic cheap eat! You have not experienced Sydney food culture if you have not been here!

We honestly love this place. Cheerful service, handmade food which is absolutely delicious. Have come here for years. Best part are the juicy dumplings and delicious sauces, the handmade noodles, and then the eggplant is one of a kind. Fun atmosphere too.

I tried the one located at the corner of Quay St and Thomas Ln. The waitress girl is sooo coool! To avoid card surcharge, I searched every pocket for the last 10 cents but I failed.... so I decided to pay by card and the girl known and let me left with a 10 cents discount!!! Thanks for that!!! Good homemade noodles, definitely recommend the mutton and bread piece in soup! Lamb tasted nice! No recommend the noodles in soup with stewed flank beef. The soup tasted like Japanese style, too light for me. Chicken thigh cutlets are used in Chicken and potato stew on noodles, this is definitely amazing. But the flavor is very simple. Just spicy from red cayenne like chillies. The dish needed more salt, more peppercorns, more soy sauce and more herbals.

Definition of cheap and cheerful. We trusted the referrals and battled the slightly overcrowded restaurant to be rewarded with absolutely standout hand-pulled noodles, delicious and fresh dumplings that were just folded by someone squished in the corner and really great knife-cut noodles. My only regret is not going more times in our trip. Can't wait to go back.

Handmade noodles are delicious. This place has not changed in 10 years... I'm still not sure why there are grapes on the ceiling...
