Have been frequenting this bar couple times recently and have enjoyed the ambience, lower bar is very noisy, however upstairs is more intimate and diner friendly.
The Royal Hotel Paddington is situated on one of the corners at the 5 ways in Paddington. Bypassing the pub downstairs and heading up the stairs, you will find a classy restaurant that can cater for large, small and intimate dining events.
The summer menu offers both share plates and individual meals to cater for what you feel like on the day. The buttermilk fried chicken burger was a crowd sensation along with the lamb shoulder and kangaroo loin both boasting delicious flavours. If you’re not full just yet there is also a dessert section with unique and familiar flavours.
Better hurry to give this a try as the menu changes seasonally.
The royal in paddo, five ways, is definitely a good pub. There are multiple levels serving drink and food. Went there for Australia day, good fun for sure. Drinks on the bottom level are affordable, the higher up you go the more expensive. Burger and chips were delicious, the salt and pepper squid however wasn't. Chewy, overcooked and underseasoned with the tiniest amount of mayo. Defo not worth $17. Anyways, went there for drinks..
Bright and airy. Looks so much nicer since the Reno.
Extensive menu, catering to all tastes. Table of five, shared plates to start with and then had mains. We all thoroughly enjoyed or meals. Decent wine list and good service. We went up to sit on the roof terrace with drinks after our meals. Definitely be back!

The Royal Hotel in Paddington has multiple levels with the downstairs having your typical pub feel, first level up is a stylish restaurant with balcony and then there is the rooftop which is perfect for an afternoon cocktail. We went for dinner and the food was excellent, far and above your typical pub offerings. We shared the fish tacos which were fresh and highly recommended to share (minimum order of 3). For mains we had the chicken and dumpling salad, seafood spaghetti and goats cheese gnocchi. The seafood spaghetti was tasty however the serve could have been a little larger. The gnocchi was visually beautiful with spring vegetables and pea purée. There is also your standard chicken schnitzel and steak options on offer. The staff were friendly and knew the food and drinks list well enough to offer plenty of suggestions. Put this on your list when in five ways and looking for a meal.
Fancy shmancy ninja!!
Pub stylish food with great vibes. This place was interesting because "known" pub food are greasy and fried goods, however this place makes me feel stupid for being judgemental base on appearances.
As you can see these beautifully plated food were pretty and tasty at the same time.
Truffle fries were the bomb, the baked cambert cheese, burger, wings and desser was indeed yummo!
Will have to come back and try some more food.
Until next time .... Keep eating!!!!
Had a thoroughly enjoyable late lunch with my wife. The pork belly was without the best I've had in any restaurant with a delicious jus while the wife enjoyed her eye fillet steak. I had to request the recipe for the chimichurri it was that good!
For desert we shared the chocolate lava cake, the perfect end to a great dining experience in a lovely setting. Highly recommend!
Glaze your evening with a vibrant and extremely delightful feast offered on the Royal Hotel Paddington’s new autumn menu. Start with a number of shared plates including my favourite vine ripened tomatoes with creamy burrata and many others (below). Continue with the delicious beetroot ravioli accompanied by a side of their aromatic parmesan & truffle fries. Melt your taste buds with the oozing chocolate lava cake which can be rich after a few bites, but it’s density is broken down with the strawberry sorbet.
The new revamp has done this place wonders. Had a lovely dinner and drinks here. Made more special by the open ceiling and sunlight shining through. Awesome vibe! However food is a little pricey for what you get. My $32 steak was meant to be 150g but was more like 80- 90g and rather dry (however cooked perfectly to my liking - medium rare). Otherwise hostess was lovely and looked after us very well, and when there was a stuff up with the bill, she very politely fixed it. Overall a good experience and will be back.
I finally got around to checking out the newly refurbished Royal Paddington Hotel and it did not disappoint. The gorgeous bright interior instantly sold us! The extensive cocktail list had us ordering far too many - all equally gorgeous looking. There are far too many good food options so we basically ordered everything. My favourites are the Waffle Fries (these are a must), Butternut Pumpkin and the Pork Belly.

I dined at Royal Paddington Hotel again last week, this time to try their newly launched Autumn menu.
They've brought back the back camembert cheese which was sensational, the truffle fries and beetroot ravioli we're also my favourites.
