I enjoyed the food at Shanghai 18. All the dishes were freshly prepared, well seasoned and flavoursome. I will definitely be back to try out more dishes! The prawn is so yummy!

Unlike many Chinese restaurants around, Shanghai 18 offers wholesome home cooked flavours. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience there and can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for good quality Chinese food at very reasonable prices.

A new establishment with amazing Chinese food! It's no secret that Asian is my favourite cuisine and Shanghai 18 did not disappoint.

I had the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao 6pcs with pork ($9.80), steamed shrimp dumplings 4pcs ($11.80), pan fried pork buns with crab meat ($12.80), special fried crispy duck ($25.80) and five spiced basa fish ($21.80).

The dumpling and buns were amazing and reminiscent of dishes that you'd get at a Yum Cha. Add your sauces - vinegar or soy sauce - and voila you've got a 10/10 entrée!

The five spiced basa fish was served in a sumptuous, sticky glaze and I could not stop myself from coming back for more. The coating gives a beautiful crunch into the perfectly cooked fish inside. An absolutely stunning dish and one that I would recommend to those visiting.

The special fried crispy duck was also a killer dish. It looked very colourful and enticing on the plate and duck will always be a winner in my books.

Overall, I thought the food at Shanghai 18 was flawless and I would happily revisit and bring my friends and family here. Unfortunately what soured the experience was the fact that the staff kept looking over our shoulders and talking about us just one table over. Not the most pleasant feeling but hopefully just an isolated incident!

I'd like to extend my thanks to Lyn from Shanghai 18 for the invitation.

Load up on pan-fried buns, steamed, soupy dumplings and handmade noodles at the newest cheap and cheerful joint in Sydney’s CBD.

Situated on the fringe of Chinatown, Shanghai 18 Bun joins an area littered with well-known dumpling and noodle houses offering traditional, no-frills cuisine. On Sussex Street near the corner of Druitt Street, this brand new restaurant can be hard to miss as shop front signage is yet to be installed.

With an extensive menu covering dumplings, handmade noodles, curries, an array of Chinese street snacks and more, there’s so much to try at this delicious new casual dining venue. I’d recommend
