Been here a handful of times now because it’s established itself as such a consistently pleasant experience - why bother with the anxiety of trying somewhere new and being disappointed.
Every time we visit I find myself subconsciously coordinating my next visit.
Lovely service, beautiful seasonal food and the most ridiculously elegant and balanced lemon soufflé...what more could a girl need!
Had dinner the other night here. The food was tasty. The bread rolls were very soft and the fish was well cooked and exactly as per what we ordered. The only disappointment was my brother ordered the fish pie and it was sub par and very mushy. Worth going.
I found that Quaff had fish pie on their menu and that was what I felt like eating. So that's where we ended up going.
I did like the pastry, it had a nice crunch to it, but would of wanted the traditional potato topping instead. The filling was a little too liquidy / watery for me. Maybe I'm just chasing down / expecting the same fish pie (not from here) I had years ago and this wasn't it. I enjoyed my king fish and scallop entree more than the fish pie I especially went to eat.
Wonderful service and everything on the menu is always delicious. Really well presented food which is not overly complicated or overpriced. Love coming here regularly they do a fantastic soufflé and eye filler.
A friend recommended this place for us to meet for a light lunch. Parking was difficult - very busy area - but I eventually found street parking about 250m away in a side street. The restaurant is an old worldly venue - starched white linen table cloths. It was peaceful despite being on Toorak Road. There was a lunch special - 2 courses plus wine for $38 but I opted for just a main. Service was friendly but not overt - my friend and I had plenty of time to consider the menu and chat. I chose the fish pie - when it arrived it appeared enormous, but the puff pastry exaggerated the size. The actual contents were about the right size for lunch and were very tasty. My friend had the scallops which were also well prepared. We finished with coffee that was very good. Price was a little higher than I had anticipated, $86 for 2, but I guess that's Toorak.
Some very delicious food here. Love the vibes and peaceful atmosphere that the restaurant brings to the area. Service is incredible and staff are extremely knowledgeable

I had the calamari for entree which was full of flavour. The Cajun chicken for the main was very nice, the corn blended well and gave the overall taste a unique touch which I enjoyed.
Quaff is a reliable local (Toorak Village) restaurant. The fish pie is always excellent and their beef filet is good. Atmosphere is 'conservative' - suited to older guests.
I had a beautiful fish pie here for dinner. Crispy pastry, fluffy mashed potatoes and yummy light filling. Service was nice. Restaurant ambience was quiet and elegant.
Had a very lovely experience here. Service was great. food was very delicious. ordered the prawns, mussels, steak and the fish pie and they all were tasty. will for sure go back and try other things on the menu
So refreshing to find a pleasant restaurant on Mothers Day that does not have a set menu at an exorbitant price and allows you to choose from the normal a la carte menu.
Ambience is good with walls of mirrors making the room appear even bigger (upstairs)
Staff were friendly and professional. Food was tasty.
Slight disappointment was the soufflé that was the most expensive dessert on the menu and looked good from the outside, yet was runny and like undercooked batter on the inside - had to leave it.
There are also a couple of nice function rooms for private events.

Nice and pleasant place with a great food. The waiters were very attentive and the service was extremely efficient. We had a function and we used the function room upstairs. The room was not bad, but could do a bit better, to have the sophisticated feel we were after. The finess and the "whoomph" were missing for the 5 star rating.Very pleasant place with delicious food in Toorak.
Excellent food and service, nicely designed place, upmarket feel and very attentive waiters. All three dishes I had were exceptional and well balanced. The pork belly nice and tender with crispy top, Kangaroo fillet also very tender, not gamey at all with a nice rich sauce and their version of Eton Mess looked fabulous with some tasty little meringues...helpings were not large but sufficient.
Had a sensational few hours in this beautiful little restaurant, and the food was superbly cooked & served. The Staff were lovely and atmosphere inviting. Will be back again soon!
This fine dining restaurant in Toorak offers great food with great service. The private function room upstairs is a great place to enjoy your corporate meetings with the exquisite cuisine and well selected wine choices. One of the starter was salt and pepper calamari-thinly sliced pieces covered with crispy melting butter delicately placed on a bed of babaganoush lace surrounded by grilled cucumber and piece of fried crispy chilli-delicious...The main was chard grilled eye fillet steak with red wine jus cooked to perfection with blackened brussels sprouts and garlic mash...followed by a delicately arranged orange and vanilla custord mille feuille crostoti pastry finished with flaked almonds.
“Quaff” is undeniably the best place in Melbourne for Soufflé, to which they always have sweet and savoury options. Reliable and unbeatable.
Friendly service, nice drinks, and good atmosphere. Kitchen apparently closes early if it's a slow day so probably don't come late at night like I did if food was what you were going after for.
