My friend had the eggplant parmigiana, sensational, and I had a loaded AF with sweet potato wedges, spicy flavouring, decanter chicken and with crispy onions and jalapeños on top. And the bbq corn is to die for. Top that off with two cocktails each (fiery ginger forever) and we were SO full and our taste buds were in heaven. And the staff were so friendly and even let us sit outside on the big lounge chairs to recover before the walk home up the hill.
This gem of a place gave me the full experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. The warm and friendly staff, succulent food, beautiful decor and killer cocktails brought upon to me the nostalgia of my yesteryears in Noth America. Hats off especially to Tim and Chris who took care of my wife and I as we filled our tummies not only with sumptuous food and drink but lots of laughs!
Gorgeous little bar, love the decor! Food is very small for cost and nothing fancy. Had the buffalo wings, loaded fries, nacho salad all very bland and needed more oomph. Would come back just for a cool place to drink
We enjoyed getting a pre-game bite to eat at Decanter. For three people, we ordered the fried chicken, jalapeño poppers, pulled pork sliders and some beef brisket loaded fries. We were happy with all the food, but the sliders were a highlight for me - I could've eaten a whole plate to myself!
The service was really friendly; they even called me several hours before my booking to let me know that they were busy and to check we were okay with bar seats.
With the Entertainment Book voucher (25% off), it came to around $70 for 4 tapas plates, 2 desserts and 3 drinks. We were happy with that and will very likely be back!
This is my go-to Cocktail bar in Vic Park... Consistently great drinks service and super friendly staff who are really knowledgeable about the drinks they serve. My only slight grumble is the food can be hit and miss, as other reviews have mentioned.
I've had the pork belly bites where two were sublime, one was undercooked. and one was dry as the desert. When you're charging top prices, consistency should be a factor.
To end on a positive note (as I do love this place!), the veggie plate listed under the salads option is the best plate of charred vegetables I've had in my life (see pic). Hands down.
Food was good. Enjoyed the sliders and loved that you could mix and match.
Loaded fries were good too, generous with the cheese, meat and sauce.
Ambience was good and had $12 special salted caramel martini.
Great place day or night. I’ve been twice both times opting for tapas and sliders. The food was great both times. The wait staff are friendly and come and check up on you regularly.
Lovely dinner at this cool little restaurant bar. Food was good but service and ambience is what made it such an enjoyable evening. Lyle was particularly accommodating and remembered the small detail.
Great vibe & atmosphere, lovely service and good food. Highlights:
👍Crispy Pork Belly Bites
👍Decanter Fried Chicken (juicy and moist)
👍BBQ pork ribs
Bacon & Cheese Balls were not bad, and but the slow cooked beef brisket was a little dry. For desserts, we had the Popcorn Waffle and Peach Donuts. Popcorn waffle was enjoyable, but the Peach Donuts were a bit of a let down. We were expecting fresh peach in our donuts, as described in the menu, but got canned peach instead.
Overall, food presentation was lovely and inviting. Don't mind coming back to try other dishes.
Nice basic small bar with a good vibe, even on a Tuesday night. The prices are reasonable for food and drinks, with the staff being friendly enough and inviting. The food itself was quite good, nothing special, but would make me return. The portions are smallish, but I feel lile that was made up in presentation and quality. Overall a good bar, especially to have a few drinks with friends over some tapas style dishes.
Interesting layout - high top tables, window benches and old fashioned lounge chairs outside. It has a "late night chill" vibe. The music is a bit too loud but I guess it goes with the theme.
Staff are great, easy to chat to. In fact one of them specifically when to find out if the "Three Little Pigs" burger could be made.
Food is tasty, heavy but tasty. The burger (pork belly instead of buns) is not as good as I expected and it's pricey ($39 - I guess because it has 2 slabs of Pork Belly).
The Peach Donut desert was soo delicious.
We happened across decanter when the queues at another eatery were taking over 30 minutes - it was Good Friday ...... service was exceptional with a real family vibe to the staff ..... as with many small bars and eateries theses days the beer was a little expensive but the food was great value and really well thought out I made up my own “loaded af” and it was terrific as was my friends fish meal - it was a bit crowded inside ( we ate al fresco) so not good for intimate dinners. But it was real quality! We will go back!
