I have wanted to try Cargill cafe on Cargill st in Victoria park.
The wait staffs were very welcoming, and they have Taiwanese hospitality.
The cafe serves authentic Northern Taiwanese cuisine. We tried the Taiwanese tempura and Taiwanese fried chicken, minced pork rice, stewed vermicelli with chitterlings. I can say it tasted very authentic just reminded me of the trips that I've taken to Taiwan.
Since now we can't travel due to the COVID, this is the closest to feeling like you are in Taiwan.
I will return to try their other items on the menu.
Located just off the main cafe strip of albany hwy, this little place has convenient parking, super friendly staff and something on the menu for everyone. Ordered vegetarian breakfast big portion and always fresh.
Got the snapper and chips here; some of the best fish and chips we've had in a very long time! The fish batter was crisp and not greasy nor soggy and the chips were very good too. The service was fast and friendly. The cafe is quirky and has plenty of seating outside and in. Will certainly be back to try other dishes on the menu, and the fish and chips. Good to support little local places like this.
We had a small family party at Cargill Cafe last Christmas. Perfect place for those who want to pay for tasty food instead of decoration. Thank you Mr Mu for the friendly service. Happy customer will come back.
Casual local with delicious fish and chips. Grilled fish and veg is also very tasty and great value. Also serving v.good coffee & cake. Recommended.
Impressed. Thought I'd give this place a try after reading all the positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Went with Mu's grilled snapper with chips & salad, and also the chilli squid entree, and both were very good. I had given up hope of finding good fish & chips in the South Perth area so I'm very happy to now know of this randomly located café a couple of blocks back from Albany Highway (where paying for parking is not required). Mu's grilled fish is actually quite decadent with the sauce he puts on it. The chips were cooked to perfection, and I loved the house made chilli sauce that accompanied the squid. I thought it was reasonably priced, and being a small family business it has a very welcoming vibe too.
Best fish & chips!. We had fish and chips for four people last night and not only was it great value at $11 a head; the fish was crispy and delicious (without being greasy), and those chips! Definitely the best I've had in a long while. Will definitely be back!
Love this place, the pies are magic...has to be the best little carrot cakes ever...you have to try the carrot cake just special...coffee and service is really good.. Tucked away off the Vic Park strip...
First time there and was blown away by snapper w lemon butter. Chef par excellence. A great suburban cafe with home-style atmosphere and attentive service. Will be back and take my gourmet friends.
Nice cafe. It's a very nice cafe. It may not be decorated like all the other cafes but this is a nice cozy place. The owners are very friendly and nice. Food is very reasonably priced with a huge portion. The food is very good too. They are very accomodating if you have any special requests as well. Service can be a little slow at times so don't go there when you are in a hurry. Furthermore, they are open everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
I like their fried chicken cutlet rice, the chicken is juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. They use good rice too, giving it the sweet flavor and lush plumpness. The three cup oyster mushroom set taste good, but the portion isn't big enough, I would like a bit more mushroom to go with my rice.
A cafe that might have had a history in serving fish and chips, but shines as a Taiwanese comfort food cafe. There's a lot of choices on offer of Taiwanese street food and other classics and, although not as good as in Taiwan, overall they're done really well bringing a steady stream of customers dining in.
There's a decent amount of indoor dining tables to sit on, but expect to see a lot of Taiwanese customers who come for the Taiwanese food.

three cup chicken is yummy, and their cuttlefish ball is the best in the town! definitely come back!
Decently nice food here, but a little pricey. Certainly try their taiwanese style fried chicken cutlets. Fish and chips however was off.

We've been past this place so many times and it has been such a mystery to us. We finally ordered fish and chips on the weekend and can confirm, it was great! we'll keep this on the record as our local fish and chip shop.
We're yet to try any of the traditional food, we'll have to head back for that!
small and cozy place. has a nice vibe to it. service was great. waitresses were very friendly and welcoming and happy to help even though i did not speak Chinese.
the food was very good. chicken cutlet was very similar to the one in Taiwan. nicely seasoned and spiced and best thing is its not too oily. the mee sua had a nice aroma and taste to it. drinks wise i feel the soy bean was refreshing. plus point the portion is huge here. overall loved my meal here and will come back again
