We ordered 65 chicken (gravy) sauce was very flavoursome, but wasn’t expecting the chicken to be deep fried. Chefs special dosa was delicious, perhaps a tad oily in some parts. Spicy sauces it came with was our fav. Garlic naan was a little disappointing. Had take away this time, will definitely come back to eat in next time. Seemed nice and cosy with live music on the weekend.
Best Dosa in town.
Nice place, good environment and clean. Staff are friendly and the Dosas are amazing. The samba was great but the tomato chutney and coconut chutney were rubbish.
Overall a good experience
Absolutely delicious. I literally crave for this weekly. We normally takeaway, and we’ve only eaten in once.
Trust me when I say that their chicken 65 briyani is the stuff of legend.
One star was taken off for the disappointing experience we had dining in, the wait was almost preposterous. Normally I’d be alright with a bit of a wait, but we ordered 1 dish to share amongst our group and it took 50 minutes? And the restaurant was basically empty. Not sure how that works. But for takeaway, it’s perfect.
This place is sooo different from other dosa restaurants in Melbourne. They had Punjabi music pumping, beautiful decor, friendly staff and CHICKEN dosa! The food was delicious and service was fantastic.
Beautiful meals & excellent staff.
Briyani chicken 65 was awesome.
The butter chicken was cooked well and not too creamy like many other indian restaurants.
The palak paneer was delicious.
Galic nan was super.
Totally recommend this place A+
Truly a really nice place to come relax with the family nice and clean too, glad to see this franchise has opened up near me the onion Dosa was a hit for me, definitely felt overwhelmed with so many options to choose off the menu but it's good as they have so much variety to cater all kinds.
Dosa hut has always been one of my favourite Indian franchises. When they opened a new restaurant in Wantrina, I was thrilled to have a good hearty Indian place closer to home. Tried the usual -
Plain dosa - Good texture, nice chutneys and I love the sambar here
Gobi 65- for the uninitiated, this is an Indian street food classic where the cauliflowers are fried and then sautéed with spices and sauce. My favourite at dosa hut
Veg Biriyani - arguably the best biriyani in the town. Hot and spicy!
We were wandering around Melbourne looking for a place to eat and stumbled in to Dosa Hut. Having spent time in India, I love Dosa. I had the traditional boring Masala Dosa and it was excellent. The family next to us were giving my sister advice on what to eat and were very friendly. Even bigger bonus was having a real Masala Chai after the meal. Will definitely go back
This would rank as one of the best South Indian Restaurants in Melbourne. Ram and his staff were very polite and friendly and the food was fantastic. The taste was authentic and for a very picky and choosy family of 5 we were very impressed. Higly recommend this restaurant.
The ambience, service and the food taste was aweful. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. It's a must visit place to have a delicious food. 😍🍽🍴
Friends and I came to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. We were so pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and it took so fast to come out, we didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was so so good, delicious, *chefs kiss*, yum! It was nicely seasoned and well cooked with just the right amount of crispiness, texture and seasoning - we all enjoyed all of the dishes immensely. There was so much variety in what to choose as well, there were a variety of dishes! To be frank, if I had gone alone, I would have not known what to order, as despite being an avid lover of Indian cuisine, I am not familiar with most dishes. Some of my friends are from India, so they took care of the order - that helped so much. All of us thorougly enjoyed. I was able to experience dishes that I have never experienced before, I was absolutely head over heels with love. On top of that, the owner and the staff came over to our table to chat, and ask us if we were enjoying our food. Everyone was so friendly and kind and genuinely invested in their customers! Then, the birthday cake came out, and the staff helped us light and cut the cake and turned on Happy Birthday on the speaker. It was such a lovely and supportive environment. When we took photos afterwards in the venue, the staff were so happy to assist as well! Special shoutout to the waitress Simran who made our experience super amazing, she was caring, and attentive and so so hardworking and was so sensitive to our needs! She made it all the little bit more special to our table and to the birthday girl! It was such an amazing experience, 10/10 would recommend for food and for event and functions! Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and amazing food!
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the eastern suburbs. The briyani chicken 65 is busting with flavor and the rice is so fluffy. The plain dosa is well cooked, not too soft or too crispy, just right. It’s so simple yet it’s my favorite dish here. It’s so delicious and they are very generous with their portion. Sometimes the food takes a while but it’s always worth the wait and we always leave so satisfied. Highly recommend for authentic Indian food!
We had a really good experience at Dosa Hut overall. We were welcomed very warmly by the owner and that itself gave us a positive impression. The food was flavorful and the portion sizes were worth for the price paid. Would have been nice if the food was given a bit faster, but that could probably be due to staff shortage. However, we left Dosa Hut with happy tummies. Would recommend this restaurant for flavorful Indian food.
The food was amazing very fast service and very well priced I thought the prawn rice would only be a small portion and i ended up with 2 takeout containers amd the ginger prawns absolutely delicious highly recommend
We've been regular customers here since they opened, best Dosa Hut and Indian in the area. Indo-Chinese is especially good. Always have great service, greeting with a smile no matter how busy. As with most businesses, they were hit hard by covid and staffing shortages, so it's nice to see them starting to bounce back now, although it's a pity that some customers we see don't seem to appreciate what businesses have gone through the last 2 years. We recently used them to cater a wedding event for 150+ people, which was flawlessly executed. The owner himself came to personally manage his staff and the venue staff to ensure everything went smoothly with the food. Got lots of compliments, and couldn't be happier.
Food was amazing! Usually trying Indian food but dosa over here is different authentic taste and loved dosa texture and the chutney 👌Honestly felt like having a home cooked meal. Service was great.. we were given a seat straight away and service was quick.
