I we recently dinned at customs house hotel for lunch on 21/04/2019 located at 161 nelson place williamstown the meals where reasonbly good and the waitstaff where also very good and the meals serviced promptly also the mens room was spotless clean i could not fault it so therefore i give them a rating 16/20/ i highly recemmend this hotel
Have been here a few times for dinner. The food is always good. Tonight we had chicken special and carbonara pasta. Both meals were beautiful. Service is great also and not over priced. Always come back. ππ΄
A great pub, good atmosphere and staff happy to help with any requests, we were a large group that dropped in without a booking and the team were happy to help. Wide menu and well prepared dishes, usual range of drinks all at reasonable prices.
I came with a few friends and I ordered the chicken parma as well as a raspberry lemonade. Everyone's drinks took a while to come out and we had to go ask for them. That's my only real complaint, otherwise the food was quite yummy and filling and the service staff were very friendly and attentive.
yesterday 21/12/17, had more that we booked for but staff were great and seated everyone. Service and Food was excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel to everyone.

I have been here 3 times in two weeks. This is how much I like this place. The food is very very good and the sauces are over the top, really incredible, no matter if it's the wine-butter-garlic sauce for seafood or the red wine juice for the steak or the faboulous butterscotch for the sticky date. This place is awesome. The only problem they have, and that's why my rate is not a 5/5, is the beer list: honestly, it's a bit poor, and you expect more in a pub, especially in the matter of craft beers
On Sunday my international friends wanted to visit an Australian pub meal. Customs house being local was our choice, that the food was better than expected. Seafood platters for one where huge and offered great variety. What we didn't expect was such fantastic and friendly service from the waitress who attended us the whole night. Quite often they are just there to do a job, this waitress was jovial, friendly and went out of her way to give us great attention even organising extra garlic bread.
My friends are still talking about her and comparing the service to many places.
It made for such an enjoyable evening, and I'll be definitely visiting again.
Really good pub grub. I had a delicious steak & booze pie, nice chunky steak in a perfect amount of sauce capped with a crunchy case. Tried others' meals which were equally good - the parma was very moist! Wait staff were nice and had a good sense of humour. On the less positive side, the food took a while to come out, and the cover band that started playing was we finished up was a bit loud given the number of people in the pub, but all up would absolutely recommend.
Always served in a friendly manner and meals don't take too long at all. we're very patient when splitting the bill between 8+. Food is always good, became a go to pub for us.
It was a hot day on Monday. Me and my wife had a pork belly as an entree which was lovely. In main course we had Pork ribs and grilled salmon both of the dishes were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.

The most tender calamari I have ever had and gluten-free done in a separate fryer. Fries were crispy but soft in the middle, nice pairing and texture.
Gluten-free beer and cider available also.
Words cannot describe how magical our wedding reception at Customs House was. Jenny and the team went above and beyond the call of service in every way! We will never forget the incredible work they did for us. Most of our family said it was the best wedding they've been to. All because of the fantastic people that work there.

Staff are incredibly friendly and the venue is lovely. Dim lights and beautiful stain glass windows. A great place for large family gatherings or small group dinners.

Had my milestone birthday at the Customs House Hotel in the Imperial room, and due to personal issues, was a very last minute decision to have it at the Customs House Hotel. Things happen for a reason, and this was where I had to have my birthday, it was the most memorable night. All my guests raved about the food and the venue. I was made to feel so special. Jenny and Russell were amazing. Jenny kept in contact with me leading up to the function and did everything she could to make it special, all guest with dietry requirements were very well looked after. I wasn't just a function to her, it was a special event and Jenny and staff made it even more special. Attention to detail and even receiving a little gift from Jenny. Just a personalised touch. Kyra and other staff were fantastic throughout the night too, so friendly and professional and catering to all requests with a smile. Jenny, Russell, Kyra and staff, thank you for an amazing birthday experience. I have not stopped telling people how great you made it for me and my guests. Highly recommend this venue to everyone, I will definitely be back.
We're so grateful to Jenny and the team at Customs House Hotel for their warmth and professionalism over the past couple of years. We recently held a gathering at Customs after our daughter's baptism, and were so well looked after despite a very last minute booking (due to bad weather getting in the way of our original plan!) The room was set up beautifully and the platters are delicious and very good value. We also had our wedding at Customs back in March 2020. After our first meeting with Jenny we knew we were in the best hands, and she went above and beyond to make our special day absolutely perfect. Our favourite pub for sure :)

One reason I'll put above all others as to why Customs House Hotel is amazing is the people working there. To Russell and Jenny, the married couple who own/run this place, it's not just a business. They treat their employees more like family and their customers like devoted friends. Russell will take time out of his day for anyone to make them feel special and heard. It's impossible not to love this owner when he dresses up as the Easter Bunny π° and Santa π
for the holidays! And Jenny is so devoted and a well of creativity when it comes to the functions and events at this establishment, ensuring everyone has the time of their life and always has something planned almost every night of the week. The people working here LOVE working here, because of who they get to work with. Many of the employees have other jobs (I know a few of the staff also have full-time jobs in law and psychology), but they still continue to work here just because they live it so much. Being a regular here can really make you feel special, and it's somewhere I'll continue to frequent as long as these people work here.
And if you want a really incredible night, swing by after 9pm on Saturdays for Karaoke night π€π΅π

What can I say. We held a 90th birthday here and it was fantastic.
The food was awesome the staff amazing. All our guest were in awe of how smoothly every thing went. Seriously couldn't fault a thing. Thank you so much Jen for your assistance in the preparation prior, you made everything so stress free and relaxed.
Would definitely hold another function here and would highly recommend it to any one thinking about it. Stop thinking about it and just do it.
We came a group of four during the week and all our meals were fabulous.
I had pasta with chicken and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had the Parma and that was amazing as well. Would definitely recommend Customs house for a tasty and well cooked meal.Thank you Customs house
