Been going to this place for over a decade, it never fails to impress me and everyone I take there (well over 50 people on different occasions).
My favourite dish is easily the butter chicken, a house speciality that I'd never order elsewhere as it's often too sweet - this version has a perfect kick... other faves are the beef madras, aloo gobi, aloo palak, saag paneer (melts in mouth), tandoori chicken, and chicken tikka masala.
The restaurant is run by a sweet woman that will greet you with a very warm smile, and I will mourn eternally when she closes shop some fateful day.
My favorite Indian place in the world. The lady that owns/runs the restaurant is amazing.
Lunch choices are limited but there butter chicken and mixed veggie curry are to die for.
We are regular clients of this place and I’m always happy with the quality of the food. There’s not much I could say about service because we always do take away, but the staff looks quite friendly.
I was really searching for a good Indian restaurant in Melbourne and this place was a perfect fit! Food is heaven.. In simple words.. Best food ever! Butter chicken love. Lamb rogan josh is delicious. Prawn malabari and fish masala are worth the money! Happy Indian! (:
Great food, lovely butter chicken and mango lassi is great too. We often come here, and I'm always very happy. Staff are also always very nice.
Cafe Darjeeling is by far the best and most authentic Indian cuisine in Melbourne. I have eaten at countless Indian restaurants and none come close to Darjeeling! In addition the service is great and food is well priced! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Top notch. This place is a treasure. Some of the tastiest Indian home-cooked style food in town.
Omg I've never had such an.... Omg
I've never had such an amazing Indian food experience in my life. I hate the sweetness that other Indian restaurants add to their food. This is authentic Indian cuisine which is appealing to any pallet!! Definitely my only Indian food stop in melbourne!! Keep up the good work cafe Darjeeling
I don't live locally but do order take away from this place. My fav is chicken tikka masala, so delicious.
Food was fantastic. I ate in, friendly staff however the restaurant it self seemed a bit, dirty. The door wouldn't close properly therefore making the food go cold.
When I requested take out containers they asked $5 charge for plastic. Not acceptable!!!
This place is vegan friendly as well however I definitely won't be eating in there again. Maybe take out
