Review Maeda Japanese Restaurant - Woollahra

Really bad sushi. Way too much rice and rice was very dry. Also ordered cauliflower Karaage, which they packed in closed plastic with no holes so it was a soggy mess. Wakame salad was also somehow dry. Too bad.

Enjoyed dinner for the first time there a couple of weeks ago and have already gone back. Fantastic quality food. Friendly staff. The only downside was that some dishes took a lot longer to come out than others, but it was worth the wait.

Must Go and try! their raw Wagyu dish in the entree was to die for! I don't like raw meat but this one was torched grill and it melted in your mouth! quite fancy elegant place in the five ways.

The sashimi tacos, Udon and katsu buns were AMAZING, especially the pork tonkatsu- it was remarkably juicy. The nigiri rice was a big soggy and the tempura could have been crispier but all in all a solid meal!!

Went in to order some takeaways with the NSW vouchers, however been told by a rude staff with her figure pointing to the voucher that "it's for dine in, you can see that on the voucher" - Come On, you don't want money that's fine. But please read the voucher - it says "for takeaway meals or food delivery provided directly by the busness" - you do takeaways don't you? With that attitude to your customers, I don't think I would return.

Delicious, Delightful and such beautiful service in a very pretty area. This is the third time that I have brought "foodies" with me and they all loved it and want to go back there soon. And the atmosphere allows for good conversations and laughter. I am absolutely besotted by this place AND I initially had no idea of Japanese cuisine. Just pick some dishes and share. You will LOVE everything!

I tried Maeda for the first time last night and honestly, it was the best sushi I have had in my life! Made fresh to order with beautiful, generous ingredients and so fresh and exquisite. There was clearly a lot of care and attention to detail put into the food and a focus on creating a terrific customer experience. Even during a difficult lockdown period, when I went to pick up my order, the chefs looked so happy and dedicated to their craft. Such a kind, happy team and this will now be my weekly regular order with my new favourite restaurant! Thank you to the whole Maeda team :-)

Really good food, chill atmosphere and kind staff! We will definitely come back.
