As far as sushi trains go, this is definitely up there. It is a little on the pricey side, but you're paying for quality.
My favourite dishes were the prawn skewers (that marinade is amazing!), the fresh rice paper rolls and the vanilla mochi dessert (it's so soft and sweet and delicious). I wasn't a huge fan of the fancy scallop and salmon rolls though - it was too much and you couldn't taste either bit of seafood really because they were drowned in sauce. Overall though, the quality of sushi was very high.
I will definitely be back, and this will likely be my new go-to sushi joint. The food is really good.
This is a great, relatively affordable sushi restaurant in the newly reinvigorated Double Bay. Compared to some of its neighbouring Japanese Restaurants, Sushi Maru is much cheaper and still of a very high quality.
Try the seared salmon nigiri, it is a highlight when freshly made by the Sushi Chefs in the middle of the train in front of you.
The staff are all very attentive and happy to help and take customised orders!
Amazing! Took my friends here for lunch. Best dishes were the Sashimi, Aburi salmon lobster salad and Karrage chicken. They were all delicious! I love the Lotus root too! Must visit in Double bay. This is one of the best sushi trains I've been too.
Highly recommend it!
