Kitty burnt us with its cozy friendly place on today's raining day. My wife and I, started to order coffee and juice aka "Cold Killer" hoping to warm ourselves... coconut milk caught my curiosity on the menu so I decided to order coconut cafe latte.
Drinks came promptly and the coffee was interesting balanced for who has never tried coffee with coconut milk.
The waitress was very attentive and very suggestive to us since it was our first visit.
For our meal we had Popcorn Chilli Chicken served on Waffles and Egg Burnadict. It was delightful awesome meal, specially the pork neck roll with eggs benedict on top ("yolk lava running down" �).
The decor is nice, the bar/pastry counter at the center is beautiful. Staff are friendly! Perfect Sunday spent! We definitely will go back �
Love the food at Kitty Burns. It always looks amazing even a simple avocado and toast comes out on a wooden platter. The almond milk hot chocolate with a pretty flower is just gorgeous. Let alone the mug. I had a beautiful veggie lasagna and my partner had the omelette which was equally as tasty. We normally bike ride but decided to drive and park in the underground car park which was no problem at all finding. Just remember to purchase a parking ticket. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy easy to get a table straight away. Definitely going back.
Pros: the location of this place is very comforting and refreshing, a nice cafe to relax at as it is secluded from everything. The popcorn chicken and waffles was divine. Chicken was seasoned well, not too spicy, had a bit of kick which I enjoyed. The combination of sweet cream, waffles and savoury chicken worked really well. Presentations of foods were on point.
Cons: the maple bacon on the chicken and waffles was cut too small and was really sticky that every bite got stuck on my teeth making it hard to chew and swallow. Edamame smash was a bit dry.
I like the chicken popcorn with waffles its the perfect combination for sweet and salty
Prettiest cafe ever! I loved the ceiling to floor windows with natural spring sunlight shining through 😍 Definitely deserves their Best Cafe Design award. The food and coffees we had were sensational as well!

A modern cafe in a peaceful location.
I was recently invited to try the well known Kitty Burns in Abbotsford. I’ve heard so much about this well known brunch spot, so I was so excited to finally visit.
📍 Close to the city yet doesn’t feel like it at all. From what I could find, the only choice for parking is paid underground parking.
We ordered....

💬 Absolutely loved the naughts-and-crosses like presentation.
🍴Pulled Pork Benedict - $18.9
💬 A tasty dish. The pork was a little dry but otherwise good. Subtle touch of flavours through the addition of grapefruit hollandaise, fennel and orange.
🍴 Sushi Bowl - $19
💬 The stand out dish for us. Absolutely love Edamame and it was packed with it! The Yuzu Ponzu was delicious - loved that you could pour that on yourself. Felt very light and healthy after eating this one. A really nice point of difference in the brunch menu selections you generally find.
🥤The Pap Juice - $8.5
💬 We were recommended this one by the lovely waitress. Great choice! Delicious combination with the subtle addition of ginger. Not too overpowering which was great!

👥 Our waitress was fantastic. She was efficient, friendly and very bubbly. She gave us great recommendations and was happy to have a chat about some of the dishes to help decide!

The service was good, really good!
My strong skinny latte was great, it had a really nice flavour and some good milk froth! What a great start.
For brunch I had the “Eggs Burnadict” but it was a hard menu to pick from. I mean there was a lot of great choices, and I was really impressed w this menu. It was a really well planned menu, w some interesting twists.
Like my eggs burnadict which was a potato rosti (bread substitute) a fantastic big mushroom, great poached eggs, a grapefruit hollandaise (yummy) w radish, pea leaf and orange fennel.
This was the perfect vegetarian dish, in fact the mushrooms were some of the best I’ve had. They were soo meaty in texture. I can’t recall ever having mushrooms like this before.
I ordered some delicious crispy bacon, which was middle bacon and it had little fat. And to be honest I really didn’t need the bacon as good as it was because the mushrooms were perfect!! And filling.
This is a great option for vegetarians and for everyone else hahaha
But bring a jumper in winter as those BIG glass windows, whilst great in summer, aren’t insulated.

I made a booking which was convenient as we didn't have to wait for a table.
I ordered the popcorn chicken and waffles which was just perfection! Gorgeous maple flavoured bacon bits with savoury waffle and popcorn chicken - it was just the perfect combination of sweet and salty. My friend also enjoyed the smashed combination she had.
The service however was disappointing at the start with incorrect coffee orders being placed,.however, overall experience was great!
It has a wonderful location, a nice and romantic place, friendly staffs, however, the food is shown a complex and beautiful but lacked of flavours. My friend and I really enjoyed our breakfast time here, the musics, the environment. Well, I may go there again at any rate, I’ll try others next time.

Kitty Burns is a cafe I've been wanting to go to for a long time & I'm glad I finally got the opportunity to go!
The cafe is in a lovely location right next to the Yarra River. The big, open windows let in so much light into the space. The natural environment was brought inside with the leafy walls and plants hung all over the cafe. I loved the architecture middle section which had the coffee machines etc.

Flat white with almond milk: Great coffee, not bitter & creamy!
Fritters: Crunchy fritters, topped with a fried, but still runny, egg. The slaw that this dish has complimented the fritters very nicely.
Vegie paddock: My vegan friend ordered this dish & really enjoyed the generous serving size & flavour of the dish!
French toast: An awesome, sweet way to finish any brunch. The brioche french toast was buttery, soft & fluffy. The maple syrup added extra sweetness. Nicely poached pear. The fruit added a refreshing element to the rich dish & the Nutella was just a bonus!

I was drawn to visit here after reading so many raving reviews and amazing pics all over my insta.
The cafe is nestled in nicely, surrounded by bushland by the Yarra. The cafe itself is really nice with beautiful natural lighting. The menu is great, lots of yummy things to order. I was in a group of 4 and we all loved our dishes! I ordered the Smashed Edamame with poached eggs, halloumi, sourdough, beetroot labne, quinoa and smashed avocado - wow what a dish! Not only did it looks absolutely stunning it tasted beautiful too. I loved everything about this dish, so divine.
My only gripe would be the service which didn't reflect well on such a great cafe like this. Our waitress was confused by our coffee order, which is fine, but we had to repeat the order 3 times and then received the wrong coffees. We also had random staff approaching our table with the wrong coffee order / food order from other tables too. Perhaps just an off day, they were lovely and accommodating but just a bit disorganised.
All in all a great cafe, well worth the visit

Kitty Burns is such a gorgeous place! With lots of natural light, and a beautiful colour scheme. I also loved the music playlist!!
I tried the Veggie Paddock (vegan version) which was sourdough piled high with lots of yummy veggies including: Cauliflower, peas, heirloom carrots, and mushrooms. Flavours were great.
The service was good, even though they were super busy!! Ample parking underneath, $4 for 2 hours, although there is free parking in the side street too :)
Kitty Burns had a good variety of brunch/cafe food and coffees on their menu, although the sweet options were quite limited (there were only granola and French toast at the time). So I went for their French toast, and I quite enjoyed it - the sweet brioche/Nutella maple cream were balanced with the freshness of the saffron-poached pear. Would have enjoyed it more had it been served with a scoop of ice cream :) Coffee was great and so was the turmeric latte. Service was prompt, although it helped that there was no other customers apart from our group at the time!

I can see why this cafe won a UK design award. Loved the airiness provided by the lofty ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. Great food and coffee. Excellent service by the friendly and attentive staff. I had the sushi bowl and the salmon was cooked perfectly, moist with super crispy skin. The sibling raved about the berry hotcakes.
Breakfast vibe so much loved it! Ordered Full English Breakfast, Acai Smoothies, Edamame Smash, and Chilli Pop Chicken with Waffles. Amazing taste! Fresh, sweet, savoury, and perfectly prepared. One of most instragam-able foods in town. Place is nice, bright, located just right before the river. Customer service was great, friendly staff!
