Lovely place for a drink or a meal. Good beer and wine selection and the menu suits perfectly whether you're after a casual meal with mates or a slightly more formal affair (we took the whole family there for my father's birthday dinner). A charming little place that remains true to what Northside pubs have always been about.

I've hosted a function and many a meal there and have never been disappointed. Looking forward to my next visit; the Sunday roast is the best in town!
My partner and I visited this pub again and it was packed.
I had a Coldstream apple cider which was very yummy and a Gin n Tonic. Both were really good and the atmosphere fun.
The vegan.food at this place rocks, so what else so you order than a vegan burger. It’s full of fresh salad, a great patty and a good bun. Happy days.

I went to the new Carringbush Hotel. It’s been renovated, and now it’s all white and bright and the menu is primarily vegetarian.
Such a change from the dark old pub that it used to be. It’s got new owners, an amazing number of craft beers on tap and a great whole new crowd.
It’s a cool place to visit!

Fun fact: I used to be able to see the Carringbush Hotel through my old bedroom window, and never actually visited. More recently though, it’s changed hands, had a makeover and now features an entirely vegetarian menu and an excellent beer list. I knew I needed to give it a try!. The Carringbush Hotel is lovely inside – lots of natural light, exposed brick, recycled timber and open fire places. It’s not a huge venue but it felt spacious and welcoming. The place was full of people of all ages, including plenty of little kids on a Saturday afternoon, and the staff were friendly and relaxed. But now, on to the food!
Good food, good booze. Our bar tender Amy was a legit legend and gave us heaps of relevant info about drinks. She also gave us primo food recommendations. Ten out of ten would come back. Also, loads of cute kids in nice clothes

How great is it that this pub is so vego friendly! So many yummy pub meals available, including Pies, Laksa, Tofu and rice, Gnocchi, Apple pie and more!
I will definitely be back to eat my way through the extensive vegan menu. YUM!
I ordered the vegan Housemade gnocchi with parsnip puree, chilli parsley pesto, brussel sprouts and broccolini, served with a potato bun. ($22) I cannot speak highly enough of this dish. There was enough gnocchi without being stodgy. The parsnip puree and pesto worked really well as a substantial creamy but not heavy sauce. And the dish had plenty of green vegetables. All with lots of great flavours and not too spicy.

I've entered a new review as this particular establishment has had a complete makeover and is also totally vegetarian.
It's modern, it's bright, lots of clean lines and white/off-white walls (the formal dining area is probably too brightly lit but you can choose to eat anywhere), roaring fire etc. Big beer menu (20+), wine on tap as well as usual drinks offering. Very welcoming and friendly.
Menu is a vegetarian's dream - likes of halloumi & mushroom burger, sweet potato steak, buffalo cauliflower, pie & mash (mushroom). With creamed potatoes and mushy peas, the pie was the choice of two at the table (and huge heads up), I was more than delighted with the gnocchi with parsnip puree, broccolini and chilli parsley pesto (a creamy delight) and finally the porcini pappardelle was not quite as creamy as menu indicated - the only disappointment on the table. With the craft beers on offer (delish Mountain Goat), overall very happy and will certainly be back.
So we've been back (Oct '19) and it's still going strong. That pie is still something of a hit - but the haloumi & mushroom burger way too heavy (and full of fats) but the nachos are good. It can work out a bit pricey though - $200 for four people with a couple of drinks each.
Abbotsford’s oldest treasures, The Carringbush Hotel, has been reincarnated. Focusing strongly on sustainability, the meat-free menu is largely vegan, all wine on tap, no packaged beer, eco-friendly reusable metal straws, ethical plates, environmentally friendly lighting and heating. The formerly frosted arched windows have been replaced by big, clear portals looking onto the leafy streets of Abbotsford mirrored by the indoor plant design by Red Letter Landscapes.
Awesome pub with good veggie meals and an even better range of beers on tap. Extra points for the wall of hot sauce! Great place to spend an evening.
Thi place was wonderful and the food was delicious! My husband took me here, and he loved the food and was very impressed and he’s a meat eater. All dishes had lots of flavour and there was a nice variation on the menu. And they have lots of condiments to add to your meal. Winning. Plus the staff were super friendly and attentive. The fit out is nice and there are a lot of available tables for dining. Would be lovely and cosy in the winter. Despite what some people might think about this place being a plant based pub (who haven’t even tried the food) I urge you to be open to something different and giving this place a go. I will absolutely be coming back!
Amazing to finally find a place that combines modern Australian vegetarian with craft beer. The menu has amazing variety with choices even the biggest carnivore can enjoy. Love their focus on ethical sourcing, low waste and sustainability.
Meat-free spread at its best🙌 Honestly this guys know what it takes to be a legend in meat-free pub. We loved the food we had in particular their tempeh bowl, plantbased meatballs and the charsiu dumplings.
Apart from yummilicious food, you can enjoy playing pool billiard, board game and exploring their hot sauce station! Yes they're all under one roof🎉

Vegan pub with a good craft beer selection. Had the halloumi and mushroom burger with onion rings as well. The other dish is the squid ink fettuccini. All very tasty. Burger better than pasta in my opinion.

Yes you heard that right! Pub style vegan food, refreshing cocktails, irresistible desserts, wall of sauces, and so much more @thecarringbushhotel has to offer.
What we had here:
Housemade ‘squid ink’ fettuccine, made of seafood alternatives, this terrific pasta dish was absolutely fresh and delicious. Packed with so much flavours, this one is definitely a must try.
Halloumi and mushroom burger served with slaw and fries, such a juicy and tempting burger it was. The thick patty layers of a whole portobello and a fried halloumi with fresh spinach, mint aioli and tomato chutney was simply mouthwatering and very addictive in taste, strongly recommended.
Arancini balls were absolutely flavourful and so yummy, made of bacon alternative, peas, black pepper, garlic chive aioli. Crispy from the outside and perfectly juicy from the inside. Must try.
NY style baked cheesecake, (V, GF, NFO), the cheesecake was simply sensational, and so delectable, made with seasonal love of rhubarb and pear, this one is a perfect dessert to enjoy on cold winter afternoons. It has lemon curd, pear and rhubarb compote, whipped cream and an almond praline. The best thing about the dessert was that it wasn’t too sweet but was enough to enjoy the flavours of it.
Besides we also had an array of cocktails and mocktails which were all very refreshing to drink even on cold winter days. Must try for sure.
Also the service is very friendly and prompt even on busy weekends, led by a team of fabulous, kind and cheerful team of staff. The prices of all the menu items are unbelievably reasonable considering their generous portion sizes and great quality of food.
They also have a fireplace, so why not checkout @thecarringbushhotel this weekend with your friends and family to enjoy a sumptuous and cozy winter special vegan feast.

I took the wife & son there for a nice Vegan/Vegetarian meal.... I was not disappointed !! The place was great! , Food was awesome, very tasty and promptly served(i even made a mistake on ordering something and they happily exchanged it) The staff were very friendly & accommodating (even when they were busy, 2x thumbs up for professional & caring service).
Did I mention the Tuesday night piano guy ! very cool, we enjoyed it greatly.

I think the answer is yes!, I cannot recommend this place enough...we'll be going back for sure.
We enjoyed the vegan onion rings, dumplings , butter chickn and the gnocchi. Yum yum yum! Nice and cosy by the fire too.
Great pub, friendly staff & great food. Its nice to find a pub with an interesting menu. Serving sizes are more than satisfying and excellent value for money. Board games, pool table and pinball too. Definitely will be back !
What a cool, rustic and chill pub with great vibes and friendly staff. Great food except I walked in and asked for a steak for dinner not knowing it was a plant base menu pub, it was hilarious but lucky for me I’m always happy to try new things and it was a fantastic dinner with great drink selections too.
