Booked months in advance this time. It was worth the wait!! Amazing food, and such quick service. 8 of us had the TUKTUK feed me style menu, and couldn’t really Fault any dish.
My highlight was probably the king fish. So fresh and full of flavor. Worth the extra money for an establishment like this. Will 100% be returning
Delicious! An Adelaide classic, Golden Boy will always provide a tasty meal (or 7). A great place to dine with a group, though if sitting outside you are right next to a main road so it can get very loud. My only other qualm is having ordered the “tuk tuk” (feed me) on multiple occasions, we were served the same menu items each time. These were absolutely scrumptious and decent serving sizes, though I’d love to see what else they could come up with. Next time I might request new items. All so yummy 😋
Would recommend this place if you want better than average Thai. The food is well prepared and staff are knowledgeable about the ingredients/general knowledge

We visited Golden Boy this week which is essentially Melbourne’s answer to Chin Chin and while not exactly on par I don’t think it trails too far behind, although annoyingly they insist upon you doing a feed me menu if your group is 6 or more which is probably an unfair cut off. We sat outside and being on the corner of a busy road it was quite loud but I loved the greenery and lights wrapping around the exterior.
Being a set menu we had dishes I wouldn’t have chosen though they did seem quite willing to customise the banquet for you. Given my group (other than me) was pretty fuss free we decided to opt for chefs selection and there was a decent amount of food, although I found a lot of it incredibly spicy (yummy kingfish I’m looking at you).
The standouts for me were the kampot pepper fried chicken, the massaman wagyu beef curry, coconut and chicken salad and the delicious stir fried greens. The roti with pandan custard was deliciously flavoursome also. One thing to note, bookings are essential
I went to Golden Boy for a work Christmas show and we opted for the Tuk Tuk feed me menu which was a great option. There was plenty of food and all dietary issues were easily catered for. The service was excellent even though the restaurant was full.
This is my favourite Thai restaurant in Adelaide purely because of the Green curry. Everything else is of course divine also, but I could lick that bowl clean of the curry! Absolutely love Golden Boy. Great meals, great service and ambience. No wonder it’s one of the top restaurants here.

I have been so excited about going here and not one thing disappointed me. We were fortunate to be seated at the kitchen table. In the kitchen watching these amazing people work their magic. Firstly I want to highlight what an amazing atmosphere not only the restaurant but the kitchen has. Having worked in a kitchen with hot tempers and short fuses this was an absolute pleasure to watch. The kitchen and everyone in it work together like a synchronised swimming team to a beautiful piece of music. Everyone was happy and smiling and creating culinary art together. The pride in the food and presentation was evident in every plate which left the kitchen. The waiting staff were also all just as amazing. The food was just stunning. We decided on the Tuk Tuk which was the best opportunity to try different things I would not have considered. And I was not disappointed with any of the dishes which came out. We are so lucky to have Golden Boy in Adelaide. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I have had and I cannot wait to return. This place is absolute perfection.

Such an amazing experience! It’s been a few years since I had been to Golden Boy with Covid and all so was excited with last night’s experience!
We had the ‘eat me’ menu: was with a vegan friend so had the vegan version and it was outstanding! Lots of amazing subtle flavours, excellent service and a great vibe! Just loved it!

Exceptional service from all the staff and chefs. The food was sensational with ridiculous flavour and variety. We did the feed me menu with fish and meat and spice. The level of spice was pretty full on (our own fault as we did not expect it to be as spicy). Really enjoyed the food and will be back soon.

Amazing restaurant- absolutely love this place. We’ve been here previously and also had such an amazing experience.
The Tuk-Tuk “feed me” menu is exceptional value, and the food is all superb.
The atmosphere is really lively and buzzing, both inside and outside.
My preference is inside, in the main/ original restaurant section.
Service was charming & relaxed, and didn’t miss a beat from start to finish. Good wine list and cocktail list.
With the food, the staff will work with your likes/ preferences, and happy to include any of your must-have dishes. The food just kept coming, and every single dish was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. The standout dishes were the pork shoulder pancakes, kampot pepper fried chicken, Sichuan beef & rolled noodle. Oh and don’t miss the pork belly with apple slaw.
Dessert was incredible too, both the Pandan roti and the banana fritter were sensational!
The restaurant is in a great location too, surrounded by many lively bars and restaurants - it’s a great night out location.
Definitely book well in advance to secure a table on a Friday/ Saturday night.

Can't fault this dining experience! From the service to the food, everything was gold class. We had such a friendly waiter who was super friendly, ensuring that our party was full (and I mean really full) right until the end. The feed me menu is definitely fantastic value. Each dish is amazing and bursting with flavour. One of the best restaurants in Adelaide!
Lovely service, solid food. For $66 per person, we left very happy with both the quantity of food, and the quality. Highlight dishes of my night was the sweet & sour eggplant, and the pad Thai.
What a fantastic experience. you walk in and already feel like it's gonna be a good night. The atmosphere with all the cool art on the walls and they give you chops sticks and customise your dinner for you. it's so cool! Will be very keen to come back and see what else they have to offer.

Went many places that do set menus but this is very good valued.
See how many we’ve received for 2! My boyfriend eats so much in general but we couldn’t finish the last main. We had almost half of what’s on the menu.
Very good vibes and really nice staff as well. Our waiter took really good care of us and tried to look after us all the time.
Not typical Thai but more a fusion Asian restaurant with a bit of western.
Food came out in a very good and reasonable pace, we had a little time to rest before another round of food was sent out.
Definitely good to try!
