Between meetings, deadlines and hours at my desk, I dream about lunch at Soi38. There's just nothing like it in terms of creative menu choices in the Thai genre; crisp yet springy chive cakes, the surprisingly beautiful and complex barbecued pork noodles, not forgetting the simple but very elegant Mee Kati lunch special. Well done to everyone at Soi38, including the wonderful staff who always provide the warmest welcome and service. See you again soon.

Our first night in Adelaide and stumbled across this little gem. You can't go wrong when you see a place filled with people all looking like they are enjoying the food and having a great time. We were not disappointed!! The food was amazing and we had a wonderful young waitress that talked us through the menu and recommended some fantastic dishes to try. We especially loved hearing the owners story of how the restaurant came to be. Added a real personal touch. We will definitely be back for the pork ribs, an absolute must 👍🏻👍🏻

Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the Adelaide CBD at the present point in time. Soi38 has created a dining experience that stunned me in the best way possible. Do yourself a favour and let the restaurant run the show! The friendly staff ensure you are looked after in terms of partnering you up with the appropriate beverages, then ensuring food which comes out of the kitchen will be tailored to your tastes and dietary requirements. They will explain what is in front of you & then leave you to discover a new taste of Thailand that will change the way you think about the cuisine. Big kudos to the ethos, people and also the renovations that make the dining room one that SA must be proud to have.

OMG YUM YUM YUM! The food here was absolutely AMAZING! We started off with the sago peanut dumplings and WOW these were little balls of goodness - the textures of sago and peanuts were sensational.
For mains we ordered the crispy chicken with snake beans - super spicy but the flavour was the perfect balance. The goat curry was the star; sweet tones with beautiful sweet potato and curry leaves; seriously amazing. The staff were also super friendly and I think we were lucky as it was quiet when we arrived and I can imagine on a weekend it would be packed. Would definitely be back here!

One of the best Thai places in Adelaide I've found so far. Food is proper level of spicy (too many places in Adelaide claiming food is hot when it is extremely mild 😅) in order for it to be tasty and enjoyable. Also using quality produce here. Reasonable price for what it's worth

I have been about half a dozen times, and never had a dish that disappointed. So, SO delicious.
Their peanut sago dumplings are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced - try them!!

Traveling from Melbourne, we were looking for restaurants on Zomato and this place caught our attention. We were not able to walk in so need to make reservation. Not sure it is like on usual days. We were there in between Christmas and NY.

Warm intimate atmosphere which makes it very comfortable. And clean. Like most of the shops nearby the restaurants in small and narrow. On the night of our reservation they were fully booked and we were advise not to bring our pram because there will be no space to park the pram unless the can be fold to smallest size possible. Service wise it’s good.

Food wise .. yes it’s delicious. My favourite was the charcoal beef salad and crispy white bait. The deep fried fish wasn’t too bad. The chicken curry was a tad too spicy for us. Not sure if they used the usual peppercorns or sechuan peppercorn.

We came for dinner at Sukhumvit Soi, it’s had a revamp of the interior. Food was pretty good, we loved the chicken wings and the duck salad. This fish was just OK, not a lot of fish for the price. Staff were friendly, and although busy service was good. Good selection of wines too. Try it out if buy book ahead to guarantee a seat.

It's 4 stars from me simply because it was an overall good dining experience. The service has space for improvement, the food was not the most authentic and a little salty BUT for the QUALITY of food (taste etc), its price and positioning (as a restaurant), it's a solid 3.5 stars. It also makes for a great dinner spot for a small party :)

Food-wise, the food can't be prescribed as authentic but it's still delicious. I guess flavours are tailored more to locals?

• The Tom Yum Goong was more on the sweet end (perhaps tamarind), slightly sour and not spicy.

• Ironically, the Pippies with coconut milk, lemongrass and chilies had a much more pronounced Tom Yum flavour — like a good Tom Kha. Once again, as with other similar seafood varieties (like mussels), it's a standard dish with a good sauce.

• The Garlic Pork Ribs comes with great garnishing and spices, with a superbly rich sauce.

Overall, the Morning Glory, Pork Ribs and Tom Yum Goong were more salty than necessary, especially the Pork Ribs. That being said, they make for amazing dishes to go with rice!

If you love a good gin cocktail, consider one of their Som Sodas with gin! I personally reckon that that Applewood's finger lime and spice profiles might complement quite well with their ginger based drink. I got the som pomegranate but I reckon it'd have been a better standalone sofa than a gin cocktail.

Ordered two entrees and five mains to share between four people. The salt and peppercorn squid was absolutely amazing and super appetising. Staff were super friendly and full of smiles giving a very familiar feeling even to first timers at their restaurant. Decor was stylish and the shop is very clean. Also, charcoal beef salad was to die for, stunning refreshing flavour.

Love this place! Been here a few times and it’s always been great. Birthday dinner last night and we were all happy peanuts. Yes it is slightly more expensive than other places. however, this is made up for in the quality of the food not once did we find a tough or fatty piece in any of the meat dishes. Which were the beef massaman, chargrilled beef salad and the pork belly absolutely delicious balance of flavours was just right.
The vegetarian was also very happy with the tofu stir-fry.
We always get the tasting plate and found that a tasting plate for 2 was good enough for the 4 of us. Now the sizes I have found always to be more than enough and last night was no different and I had the big man with us. We even got take-away containers and it was just as delicious for breakfast 😜. Give it a go.

Great real Thai food in a nice small venue with an open kitchen, surprisingly it wasn't too loud considering all the hard surfaces. When we went it was very busy so a booking is required, they also do the usual 6-6:30pm sitting and then a 8-8:30pm sitting. Staff were attentive and really friendly, for the 2 of us we got 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, nan and 2 drinks each and it was about $150. We were happy with that. The red goat curry was the standout dish.

After careful consideration we choose Soi38 for our anniversary dinner. This might be the best Thai restaurant in the Adelaide. All the dishes were super yum and helpful staff made our choice very easy. We will definitely consider to go back again.

With Asian meals, there’s no real need for entree and main course separation really. This was especially the case here where we felt the saltiness of the entree would be very balanced out by having the excellent sticky rice served at the same time. I would return here just for the sticky rice and Pad Thai

Don’t miss this place. Finally Adelaide has genuine Regional Thai food with punch. Very comfortable setting and wonderful service. We’ve been 3 times in a week because I wanted to introduce an Adelaide gem to friends and family who miss travelling to Thailand. This is the real deal. Lots of healthy options as well as vegan. We had amazing Duck, kangaroo tail curry and lovely crab on bettle leaf. The jackfruit & eggplant green curry was also outstanding ♥️

Outstanding. One of the most welcoming & accomodating restaurants we have been to. Oscar the maitre d’ sets the bar extremely high, he ensured we have had an enjoyable night out and an amazing meal, noting our difficult dietary requirements on two occasions now. The restaurant has a cool modern vibe, as does the menu, there is plenty to choose from. The wine list is extensive and caters for everyone, although I would appreciate more local wines. Looking forward to returning for more!

We did the Tour of Thailand menu which is a very cool concept, to taste the different regions. Not every dish was a stand out but it was still pretty delicious. The decor of the new venue is really simple, modern and chic, yet there’s still a lot of energy and atmosphere in the restaurant. Some of the staff could’ve been a touch more professional at times but overall a very good experience and I will be recommending to my friends.

One of my new favourite restaurants :) Came here for a lil date after hearing about it for a while. From the start, all till the very end, the service was outstanding. A very knowledgeable and fun front of house team. The food was also phenomenal; it would be hard to pick a favourite from the dishes shown below. Overall, 9.1/10. Will definitely come back
