By far the best mushroom dish I've ever had! And the staff were absolutely great. Would definitely go back and recommend to other people.

I am from Melbourne & have to say I absolutely loved our experience at NOLA Adelaide.

First off, the vibe & ambiance is cool, relaxed, welcoming & unpretentious. Decor is subtle & not try hard like some Melbourne restaurants that try to offer something different.

The drinks menu is extensive, especially if you like Whisky. Very extensive.

The food is delicious in its simplicity. We had the fried chicken & tater tots which were cooked to perfection & served piping hot & fresh! Neither were over seasoned or try to be too clever by adding new/crazy ingredients that tend to ruin food most of the time.

This place has done a very good job & we were very pleased.

I would recommend that if you are sitting upstairs it would be nice for some light Cajun music to be playing in the background for added ambiance. It was a bit too quiet for me.

Our French waiter was attentive & customer service cannot be faulted.

Nola is a consistently great place to go. The staff are always awesome and they always have something new on their menu. They also encourage you to try new things which I like. Excellent beer selection with a huge whiskey menu. Small wine list. The menu is excellent - everything looks appetising. The fried chicken is a must have. Great stuff coming out of a tiny kitchen.

Perfect spot to hang out with friends on a Friday / Saturday night or a weekend afternoon. Delicious fried chicken paired with a nice cocktail or whiskey or cold beer- what more can you ask for. Great service .. good music. Really I have nothing bad to say !

NOLA (short for New Orleans, Louisiana) is a cool bar just off Rundle St known for its impressive selection of Whisky and Craft beer. However being me, I wanted to try NOLA for their fried chicken.

The boneless fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, with a nice hint of a garlic kick. It stood alone well, and did not need the sauce that came with it. With a great range of soul food on offer, we also tried the Beef Brisket (pictured, bottom right) and Pork Po Boy (pictured, top left) – a traditional sandwich from Louisiana that I thought was only available in America. The beef brisket was definitely my favourite! It was flavoursome with that BBQ sweetness, and it came with a Jalapeno corn bread too, which I’ve always wanted to try. The Po Boy was just as imagined, a homely sandwich and the bread OMG, crisp but fluffy on the inside.

A little intimidated by the drinks list, we asked one of the super friendly staff members which they would suggest. They recommended a whisky sour with a twist for us girls, and now I am hooked on them. We also tried a cocktail from their list, with it’s base ingredient being Moonshine, and that went down a treat too.

The place itself has the New-Orleans charm, with it’s rustic décor and warm tones making it very welcoming. There are cosy areas upstairs and downstairs areas, which I like as the set-up gives a sense of privacy.

Very original and well-worth the money for authentic southern food, which is hard to find in Adelaide. NOLA is a must if you're down the East-End of town.

Cute little craft beer bar adding yet a lil more pizazz to the already trendy Vardon Ave. Only popped in for a wee bevvy and a snack so can't say too much, but would like to come back for a wee bitta jazz and some more beers and nibbles. Place is small though cosy, service was chilled & friendly & the place just gave off good vibes. Will return 👍

This is a great bar. Jazz music, creole food, fantastic drinks and friendly staff. Had the "feed me" option which is a small sample of each menu item - great food and flavours and fun. Would definitely recommend.

Clockwise from left; wild venison meatballs, gumbo, bean and corn salad, crocodile sausage and ribs, heritage beef brisket. NOLA has become an institution in Adelaide for those who love beer, whiskey and soul food. But as much as we love trying. one of the rotating sixteen beers on tap, this trip to NOLA was singularly for the purpose of sampling the menu. Pretty much the whole menu, which for $39 a head, you can do too.

Regular visitor to Adelaide for business but tonight was my first time here. Great range of beers on tap. I ordered the Collard Greens and a serve of fried chicken. Both were fantastic. The greens were perfectly cooked (not mushy, still with some crunch) with perfectly salty and smokey bacon....

Lovely small bar with really good soul food, unexpected but a welcome surprise! The hurricane cocktail is delicious, and the beignets are as good as you'd find in New Orleans (they just need to learn how to pronounce it!) Definitely will be back. Lovely staff too. Appreciated the contactless order system.

Busy upstairs during the Urban Cocktail walk. One person behind the bar who was kept busy serving. No menus upstairs but was still able to order food which arrived promptly. Revisited for some cocktails and a Po Boy roll on a Saturday afternoon.

NOLA Adelaide exceeded my expectations. The food was surprisingly amazing for a small bar. The general consensus is that the fried chicken is extremely tasty, I can confirm that statement. The skin is very crispy and the chicken is amazingly juicy. I had a great experience at NOLA and I would definitely return to try more of their menu and drinks.

Easy to find and a great little eclectic pub. Large range of craft beers in a cosy setting. Staff are always great and the small food menu won’t disappoint. Perfect for groups of 5 or less or taking a date. Try the beer paddle, great value for money and opportunity to try a few beers at once.

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere, I have to say that the singer was so good at it that we were questioning if it was like a radio channel or a CD. The vibe was absolutely fantastic, drinks was amazing as well, the first cocktail (had passion fruit in it) that we got was surprisingly sweet since there wasn't any taste of alcohol at all, great for newbies but the one we got after was pretty strong, we couldn't even finish half a glass cause the whiskey was just too strong(scotch something), great for long term drinkers or whiskey lovers.

First time I've been here and I really enjoyed it and would definitely go again. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere is just perfect for a few Sunday afternoon cocktails.

I had been told this place was great, but I really wasn't expecting the food to be so good. We tried their Big Easy banquet and everything that came out was fantastic. Loved the shrimp dip and Cornbread especially. Our group took advantage of the extensive stout selection and the cocktails were fun too. Staff seemed to be a bit distracted or disinterested but that didn't seem to detract to much from the overall experience. Definitely worth a try 👍

From the minute that we walked in you could not beat the friendly staff. We were given a jug of water and glasses with lime and ice, without having to make a request. We ordered our food and drinks. The food menu is compact but full of really good offerings. The alcohol offerings are vast and it is very difficult to make a choice. There are at least 10 craft beers and hundreds of bottles of spirits on offer. The food when it came was really tasty, fresh and hot. The sauces appear to be homemade and were very good. Overall I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the place is brilliant
