Good service, tasty food and the food portion quite reasonable for the CNY banquet dinner per table. Will go back again to try out other dishes

The Peking duck here never disappoints. Absolutely delicious every time. Fast and friendly service.

Nice special fried rice and shanghai noodles, helpful staff, food was quick coming out of the kitchen also.

The Peking Duck is still absolutely top notch. If you've never had true Peking Duck, this place is for you.

Best peking duck and fortune chicken in town. Food is divine and excellent service. 10/10đź‘Ť

The Peking Duck needs to be order 24 hours in advance, it is a dish to die for. For two people it was more than adequate. I had always wanted to try and enjoyed the experience.

Very traditional Chinese restaurant. Only 30 years old. Very bland food, but excellent service. Friendly.

The food was really good it's a shame the staff seem distant and not too willing to talk to you or anything just I don't know.. Soulless husks walking around place is empty and looks more like an old parlour house as I said the food was good but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon :s

Had Chinese New Year dinner here. It was about 12 courses including peaking duck, lobster tail, oysters, whole barramundi and more! So much food and it was all excellent. Service was quick and easy and about $59 a head which is great value!

I visited Ming's Palace for dinner with my family. They had really nice duck pancakes and fried ice cream. Good service as they were attentive and patient while we ordered for the first time.

The renowned roast duck here is amongst the best in Adelaide. The second and third courses are passable and perfunctory respectively, but the first course is stellar. Warm house made pancakes are provided for you with pre cut slivers of crispy roast duck, cucumber, shallots and a wonderfully moreish sauce. It is this course that more than adequately justifies the entire cost of the meal.

Between four people, it might not be enough food but this gives you an opportunity to try the other dishes on the menu. The salt and pepper squid was excellent as was their shallot pancakes.

As said in a previous review, it's best to prebook the duck - maybe that and their fortune chicken which seems to be very popular here as well. Will be very keen to return!

One of the very few places to serve authentic Chinese food. Renowned for its roast duck, you can get the banquet consisting of the pancake with duck, duck noodles and duck soup for $50.

I've come here heaps of times over the past couple of months. The Peking Duck always exceeds my expectations every time. It tastes better every time I go there. The staff and service are very friendly and the atmosphere is always lively. But the best thing about the resturant is its location near Ming's steam boat. (PS that place is excellent)

I've come here so many times over the years with my family and friends to get my Peking duck fix. The restaurant has become a little dated in recent times but it's still the same open bright and friendly restaurant I remember from when I was a kid. I went recently with a two other friends, we booked and pre ordered the Peking duck. You probably don't need to book before hand but I think it's safer to call ahead and reserve the duck to be sure. The duck banquet is three courses with the duck skin and pancake, duck meat with noodles or rice and duck bone broth to finish. We ordered the fortune chicken and a fried rice as well. The duck banquet alone was probably enough for the three of us. At around $55 for one Peking duck banquet (per duck not per person), I thought this was great value. Whilst not on the same level as Asia, I think Ming's might be the best place for Peking duck in Adelaide, but there are not that many other restaurants offering it. The service was friendly and attentive, although it was fairly quiet. I've always had good meals and Ming's and unless another Peking duck place pops up, this will continue to be my go to for duck.

Excellent place for family dinners. The peking duck is one of the better ones in Adelaide. The seafood dishes are excellent. This restaurant has been around for a long time and keeps doing well.

This is the only place I come for Peking duck (in Australia) and I've been coming for the last 15 years! The pancakes may not be as soft and thing as others but the crispy skin and succulent meat is best I've had anywhere. Other reliable dishes are the s&p squid and zing du pork ribs. Only negative is that the prices aren't as good as they use to be.

Chinese lunch. A good spot for Chinese. I've had the Honey Chicken a few times and only once it was over cooked.

Easily the Best Modern-Chinese in town.. These guys cater and staff well, even when the restaurant is packed. They have some amazing unique dishes that I have not found anywhere else. I would recommend Orange Duck, Honey Sesame Beef, Salt and Pepper Squid, Chinese Green Beans. They cook it nicely and don't deep fry the crap out of it. You can taste the sauces too, (without that MSG and sugar flare that some cheaper places have). Fast friendly service. I recommend booking, as they seem to do a lot of Weddings and functions, so check first prior to going.

I have eaten Peking duck at many restaurants world wide. Ming's is up there with the best of them (better than most). Generous with 3 courses at a reasonable price. Love it at Chinese New Year

I too have dined at Mings on many occasions and have never experienced bad food, bad water or indeed bad service. I have always found the food to be exceptional, the staff friendly and the price acceptable. About to celebrate a significant event and out of all the restaurants in our fair city this is the one I choose to make it an event to remember.

Shallot pancakes were good (didn't come with any dipping sauce however), fried Peking bean curd was very tasty as were the Chinese greens with garlic! Rest of the family loved the Peking duck pancakes and the kids enjoyed the honey chicken and fried ice cream.

Peking duck. Superb I have had Peking Duck at Beijing, Melbourne, Gold Coast and various other places and the Peking Duck is the best. The skin is crunchy, flavor fabulous and true to flavor. The staff fabulous - friendly and could not do enough to help us. To the owner I complement you in every way. I would recommend your restaurant to all.

Jeanette

I Love Food
I have been going to Ming's Palace for years now but the last time I went I was so disgusted at the service that I refuse to go back there again. And I must say, the bad service only came from one person who was the owner (female)!!
I think the staff could see that I was getting very annoyed and was aware of the situation but the owner had no idea. She was rude to customers and to the staff. I am from Chinese background but prefer to speak in English so I don't think the owner knew I was able to understand everything she was saying. When we came in we had no booking and the waiter advised us we could have a table provided we were finished before the next booking which suited us fine. As soon as we came in, the dragon lady said to her staff: do they have a booking? they have to be gone by 7pm. Did you tell the?! And she had her dagger eyes on all or not - she must have been having a bad night because she was barking orders the whole time we were there. When we enquired about ordering fish and needed a price as it was market price, she rolled her eyes and said to her staff (in Chinese), there's only three of them, why are they even bothering with the fish? (Mind you, we had just come from work on a building site, so we looked tired and dusty and dirty - which is probably what she judged us on). And as our last dish was served - out popped the calculator, and as she peered at us over her glasses to make sure she had accounted for every drink and dish that was on our table, starting tapping away at the calculator to finalise our account. Never again, dragon lady. Never again.

Rude staff. I asked for no pork in my noodles and they came with pork. When I told them this they said 'well what can we do?'...
I the asked kindly for a refund on the dish, they said that because we had tried some they would not refund it. One of my guests then said 'that is athetic' and a staff member threw water at him, apparently by accident, but I believe that a jury would find that the waiter had intent to cause serious bodily harm.
Reported.

Adelaides No.1 for Duck. I have always been impressed by the quality of meals here. Three courses of Duck, chinese greens and shallot pancakes are my usual order and I have never been let down. The Fortune Chicken dish is absolutely amazing!

First time to Ming's Palace and we made the trip just for the Peking duck which is meant to be the best in Adelaide. I haven't eaten it anywhere else so I can't say whether that's true but it was pretty good. It was three courses - the duck pancakes, duck fried rice and duck soup (which comes out at the end of the meal). Delicious. We also ordered a variety of vegie dishes which were delicious - particularly the green beans.

Yum. I have been going to Mings for years now. Sometimes with large groups - sometimes for business dinners. I have never had a bad meal here. The chef rocks.

The salt and pepper squid is soft like butter. The smoked duck is intensely flavoured and full of moist meat and crispy skin. The szechuan long beans are possibly the best in SA. The ribs are meaty and delicious. The fried rice is soft fluffy and full of chinese sausage. The service is polite and effecient. The prices are cheap.

For quick, friendly, and tasty Chinese food - Mings would have to be up there with SA's best.

Booking Cancelled. The day after they accepted my booking for a group of 20 for a Chinese New Year celebration they rang to tell me that they were full and we had to change dates! I bluntly declined the offer. A few minutes later they rang again and said they could fit us in after all. I refused the offer again. I'm not sure what the real story was but I doubt they were really full. Very unprofessional and very disappointing!!

Overpriced. Does not live up to it's hype. Bad quantity. Bad water. Bad food. Very disappointed. Rather eat at home. Yuck. Feral overpriced.

Ming’s Palace are renown for the best Peking Duck in Adelaide. My last visit to this restaurant was over a decade ago and it was time to pay this place another visit. If you want to order either the Peking Duck or Fortune Chicken, you’ll need to tell them by the morning of your dinner. For me, I already knew what I was going to have, but if you’re after something else, there are over 90 other dishes to choose from, most of them traditional Chinese fare.
